World Youth Day: Gathering of US Pilgrims

Friends, it was an honor to speak at the US national event at World Youth Day. In Luke 24, the two Emmaus disciples, despite the lateness of the hour and dangers of the road, set out for Jerusalem upon recognizing Christ. They found their mission; you, too, must find yours.

My name is Tiago and i am a catholic from Portugal! So as you can imagine the WYD were CRAZY for me. I had the pleasure to speak with an american pilgrim in a line to the bathroom someday ahahah, it was the most wonderful thing! I, had the idea that there were almost no catholics in the US, i thought all of you where protestants. Boy was i wrong. I was delighted to find out that specially in the southern states, due to mexican, vietnamese and brazilian emigration, catholicism is being a more and more common among you! May jesus and the virgin Mary pray for you all, because in portugal, a country where 99% of the christians are catholic, its easy being one, im not so sure in a country where the odds are more like 10/1. Big respect!
