  • Karu was a collaboration between South African, Duncan Faure, and the Scotsman, Stuart Wood. Both were members of the Scottish band, the Bay City Rollers, in the 1970s and early 1980s.
    Duncan Faure started his career in 1972 when he formed the band Orange Cashboat in South Africa, moving on to Rabbitt in 1975. Rabbitt became South Africa’s most successful band to date, releasing 3 gold albums and winning 7 SARIE awards during their career. In 1978 Duncan became the lead vocalist with the Scottish band, the Bay City Rollers, and in his time they released 3 albums.
    In 1982 he collaborated with Stuart Wood, guitarist with the Bay City Rollers, as Karu, releasing one album (in Japan) and two 7” singles. In 1987 his single “24 Hours” was included in Madonna's “Who's That Girl?” soundtrack, which sold 5 million copies. He went on to release several successful solo albums. In 2006 he moved to Las Vegas in the USA were he still performs and hosts a radio show.
    Stuart John "Woody" Wood (born 25 February 1957) is a Scottish musician, songwriter and producer, best known as a guitarist for the Bay City Rollers. After his success with The Rollers, Stuart moved to South Africa and performed in a band called The Passengers (with Neill Solomon), and collaborated with Duncan Faure as Karu. Upon returning home he became a record producer in Scotland. He remains active in the music industry, producing music through The Music Kitchen. He currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
    This song was released on 7" single in 1983. It's the B-side to "Where Is The Music".
