The best ability for Swampert line would propably be Drizzle (because of Mega Evolution giving it Swift Swim). It would be also great to have a Drizzle mon who is not weak to Thunder and Electro Shot. Alternatively, since mega is not an option anymore, straight up giving it Swift Swim back would have been a nice touch, though once mega return, it would have been irrelevant i suppose, wich is why i suggested Drizzle in the first place. We already got strarter that set up terrain with ability (Rillaboom) so why not a starter that set up the rain? The obvious Sap Sipper would have been also cool, not just because of lack of weaknesses but also because of immunity to Spore that ruin competitive play so much. Worse alternative would have been Hydration or Water Veil but they would have been still better then useless Damp. Though scratch the Water Veil and just give it Water Bubble.
Something like water absorb, water bubble, mold breaker or Stamina those would be my abilities, having something useful but not overly powerful just because

Marshtomp line should have reggenrator, theyre based on axolotles an animal who can regenerate limbs and its also in the bill of $50 mexican pesos
