It's embarrassing how easily I forget the seasons in the Southern hemisphere are opposite of where I live. 😅 I love that you embraced a spring themed doll for Halloween, and indeed, what better subject to choose than Midsommar? I learned so many great tips in this video! Pinning the wefts while they dry.. of course! And that absolute unit of a dress was a joy to watch come together. Happy Halloween Etellan :D

The doll is beautiful, but midsommar is middle summer festival, so, not really a spring theme. 😄 But it's a horror movie so, it still fits halloween. 🤷🏻‍♂️ People even make Krampus, even tho it's a christmas monster.

I'm going to bare my soul real quick: I grew up in a cult, not quite as obviously nefarious as the Harga, but you noticing the bright colors mixed with the horror really hit home for me. I couldn't finish the movie when I decided to watch it a while back, and I have no plans to attempt to do so, but I love your interpretation, and especially your reading of the screenplay. Happy Sunday from Sweden!
I realize you worked with the fake flowers that were available, but if you ever want a more "authentic Midsommar celebration flower selection", I suggest mainly daisies, lupines, clovers, meadow buttercups, poppys, and cornflowers! For some reason, the movie opted to use a lot of flowers that would be *really* uncommon to use in reality. The leaves would also specifically be birch leaves!
Really beautiful work, especially the hairstyle and tears!

midsommar took a risk doing a horror movie in the bright lights, but Ari Astar did discuss that he wanted a complete 180 from his film in the previous year, Hereditary. and he used this film as an outlet, as he and the main character, Dani, both went through something traumatic, him being a serious breakup and Dani from losing her family. the blinding sun, scalding colours and very modern time themes and unsettling topics were startling for viewers, including myself. midsommar was the very first ever horror movie where I had to get up and step away for almost a full week. the topics and other haunting imagery really dug deep and pinched several nerves. Astar seriously outdid himself with this film, and while he did film it in Scandanavia, it still shakes me up knowing that this film was based off of an actual cult (I don't know the name, so if anyone does, please let me know). this doll is absolutely stunning, and if Astar himself saw it, he would possibly, no doubt, be seriously impressed. the approach for a summer/spring-themed doll is so shocking yet playful, and choosing midsommar is even better. well done!! these videos of yours keep getting better and better the more I watch!!!💙💙

I am Swedish, and every time I mention that I am, this movie comes to the conversation. I decided to watch it recently, and it has become one of my favourite movies. Your amazing artwork and this colourful nightmare of a movie go so perfectly together, and I hope you will do more movie related dolls!
Please come visit Sweden some day, especially around Midsommar. I promise that there won’t be any weird hairs in the food! (Except if the mating ritual is around the corner, of course)

So much work and it turned out beautiful! I feel like making her look sad was a missed opportunity though. Her smile and genuine happiness at the end of the movie were a lot more memorable, and more unsettling.

I have no words-I seriously am dumbfounded by this stunning, gorgeous, realistic, and articulate doll! I’ve never watched the movie but I think after this I will! You may have not been going for realism with this doll, but she sure is going to make me cry with her emotions! I love this work of a doll!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I prefer the Dead Meat channels movie overviews. He goes into much behind the scenes detail and talks about how unique Midsommar is to the horror genre. It wasn't suposed to be a happy ending but its earily relatable in a flawed, human way. Providing a sense of security and acceptance is what cults do, that's how they work.

Watching this made me want you do to a winter soldier doll so badly. My favorite repainters do not do men often, but you could capture that moment from Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 2 when Ayo tells him “you are free” so we’ll. You’d be the only one that could do it justice.
