I've been a fan of Yanni for decades. Having seen him live once here in New Hampshire, I'm always amazed at the rock solid rhythm that Charlie Adams provides. Now that I've seen Charlie play, I always listen much more closely to his amazing drums.

I first listened to this celestial piece 17 years ago, and with each revisit, I find myself even more attached to it. The drummer is on another level. Every single part of this composition is magnificent and meticulously orchestrated. Yanni’s mastery on those iconic pianos, his movements, the harmony of the entire group... I am genuinely speechless.

Only those of True culture can appreciate his works. I have been listening to Yanni since I was a teenager, when nobody my age, then, knew who he was. His older music is heavy into electronic synth sounds, like his album "Optimystique,"and "Chameleon days." Check out one of pieces, "The North Shore of Matsushima,"off his "Keys to Imagination"Album.

Yanni's music is like the roots of my childhood tree. The tree has grown into an adult, but the roots have gone deep. If as I child I observed his composition for the range of tempos he used in his music, as an adult, I hear the whispers of its timeless, boundless nature. To put plainly, 'Standing in Motion' makes me do just that: travel deeper into the part of my soul to find myself.

His name is Charlie Adams. For over 30 years he’s been Yanni’s drummer since he started in 1987, while even before that in a band called Chameleon. He was the one who actually started the whole upside down, revolving drummer thing before Tommy Lee did with Mötley Crüe
