  • BROADHEAD TUNING TIP!! Bow is shooting great. Field points hitting right where you want them to. But your broadheads hit different than your field points. Check out this tip video on how to fix this!!

    I like the fact that you are checking your arrow flight in at least three ways. Paper tune, bare shaft, broad head and field point fletched. You are not a lazy hunter. You are doing all you can do. I am going to have to watch videos again, or you can just tell me the slightly vertically challenged dude that agrees with me about smoking those long wheel base Nanny goats.

    Man! As soon as I finished watching this I had to fix some popcorn. Because I knew the haters in the comments would be funny.
    Look at trad guys tuning a bare shaft to impact straight as they can by trimming it, and that’s it. If broadheads fly different then don’t practice with field points during deer season!
    If you can’t figure out how to get your fixed blade hitting with field points are you just gonna skip deer season? Not me lol.
    Move your sight or shoot a quality mechanical head. No time to tinker when you could be hunting! Get it straightened out later

    I have shot grim reapers, and the dead meat broadheads. They worked, but I shot a longbows for too many years. My 190 grain cut on contact flies perfect out of a Hoyt compound. I believe I will just keep watching the nannies fall.

    And let me tell you, I’ve got not quite two bow seasons so far. These internet pros will have you up all night trying to get fixed blades hitting the same at 40 yards. Find you an old man that bow hunts. He will tell laugh at you and tell you to move your sight. That’s what my mentor did.
    Most of these internet pros don’t know as much as they pretend to. Some of them don’t even hunt

    You always want to bring the bear shift toward the fletch if you just Think about the back of the arrowor even adjust your rest and watch what it does to the tip of the arrow the arrow if you're bare shaft it's left thit's left that means it's pointing to the left so you would take the rest in at the back to bring front to right to bring the arrow back in line

    Okay got the G5 crossbow montec M3 100 grain at the C word...not that c word.
    I know I'll probably be banished because I use a crossbow.. anyway these things got plum squirrely after 35 to 40 yards. Was driving tacks at 50 yards with field tips. Guess I'll have to do the old spin test.
    Thanks for the info.

      Won't be banished at all man! The whole rifle / bow / crossbow feud has been played out. Gotta stop getting after each other and just support all hunting as long as it's legal and ethical! Good luck on your hunts man!!

    Used to use grim reapers, but this past year I switched over from a bear to a hoyt torrex, only broadhead I've found to fly true for this bow is good ole walmart swacker 100gr. Even at 60 yds im flying straight through the heart cavity

    Would it be quicker and easier to broadhead tune first and then shoot through paper to fine tune and then the bare shaft

    My bare shaft and broad heads a hitting way left 20 to 30 cm should I change arrow spine?

  • @bobbydenezza7795
    @bobbydenezza7795 Před rokem

    I bareshaft tuned using a Shooting machine from 20 yd and I got a perfect bullet hole through paper. Then I shot a fletched arrow with field points and it hit within 1" from the bareshaft and made a perfect bullet hole. My bow is tuned perfectly and Then i shot my broadheads and they still don't hit in the same spot as my field points. They all hit all over the place within 3 to 4 " from the field point impact. I get great groups with my field points hitting consistently in the same spot, but the broadheads are inconsistent despite the bow being bareshaft tuned. What else should I do to fix this?

  • @timbow50
    @timbow50 Před rokem +1

    Your bow has to be tuned properly and the arrows have to be for that draw weight. Once sighted in for field points the broadheads should hit right with the field points. If set up right you don’t need 4” vanes. Might need to adjust the rest like 1/64 or 1/32” to get everything hitting together. Just about any broadhead.

    • @bobbydenezza7795
      @bobbydenezza7795 Před rokem

      I bareshaft tuned my bow from 20 yards getting a perfect bullet hole using a shooting machine that takes out human error. I then shot my fletched arrow and its hitting 1 inch away from my bareshaft and also making a perfect bullet hole. Then when i shot my broadheads, my broadheads still don't hit in the same spot as my field points. The broadheads are hitting all over the place within 3 to 4 inches from my field point arrows that are fletched. What should I do?

    Curious, I see that you used muzzy for quite a while, (that's what i use) why did you switch? With my bow, i can switch between tips with no problem, but my crossbow, well i had to re sight it in with my broad head......

      Haven't shot Muzzy in over 10 years, but shot them for a little bit. Now shooting G5 because it's the most lethal, accurate flying broadhead out of all the ones I was testing!
