In todays video we try to get an old ford C.O.E truck running and and driving, we have been working on the project since snow fall, but the footage is older, so enjoy!
I have a 85 C700 with the 8.2 Detroit Diesel. After sitting ten years, I got it to spin over by hand first, but it started right up once I had cleaned the battery terminals and connected 3 batteries. You must have a similiar later model as it has the 10 lug 22.5 wheels also. Using starting fluid like that will destroy the engine, it probably has bad gas and a carb that is clogged.
Hello really Nice Work on the old Ford.. Hope to se More from that.. Have a nice weekend.. Regards J. Thanks for all your Good Videoes, it is made good....
You have children running around that temporarily lost their minds in all the excitement and a child driving a medium duty truck with absolutely no experience behind the wheel. Kids are jumping in and out of the cab. It takes a second for one of them to get run over and either hurt real bad or killed. He jumped out of the cab with the engine running and didn’t set the parking brake. It has NO brakes and they are moving it around the yard not paying attention. The amount of fuel he was dumping into the carb could have easily ignited and burned the cab to the ground. I have two of these units and I can tell you that it is very easy for those gas engines to backfire especially with rapid start (ether). That’s deadly! This is how farm and rural accidents happen. It’s good to see them learning and taking an interest but you are the adult and they are just children. Teach them about safety and encourage them to be safe. At the end of the day you want all of them at the dinner table with you.
Re life on the ranch, starting the C-700 V8 gasoline 330 cu in HD, or 361 cun inch hd, Mistake one, put ten gallons in, the tank. Soak in Carb cleaner, and overhaul the holley 4 barrel 4150 carb , reset the floats, install new needle valves, blow all the cirquits clear, reinstall, and remove the forward bank valve cover, #1 cylinder is the forward bank,, make sure that the both valves are fully closed , on the compression stroke, at 6 degree before top dead center, install new points and condenser, and set up timing as it starts! Never force the transmission into gear, if the clutch is dragging, you must properly look into why? adjust the clutch, or install a new clutch, re surface the flywheel, and re start at the beginning! All you did there was butcher the truck, sure you got it started, but it is really good for nothing if it does not idle and pull properly. These are good trucks, if you know what you are doing and have a job for it , which can economically be done with a gas motor. Next are your oil brakes, fill the master with brake fluid, crack open the bleeder screws, blled the system, and see if you have any function. Take the out board half of the vacuum tank booster cylinder off the Hydrovac, and see if the brake fluid is enterring the vacuum booster chamber, If so you need to have the hydovac rebuilt, in order to have brakes. The drum brakes on these years was mostly (I forget the name) but the biggest issue was usually the frozen rusted up star wheel adjusters , which you need an air zip gun and plenty of patience and a acetylene oxygen torch to use heat to break the adjusters free. They need to be coated with anti-seize compound, and re-set up. the drums and the shoes, were usually ok. But where you are in the states, the road salt was nowhere as bad as in Canada! or northern states. They are darn good trucks if you have paying local work for them! The gas bills will kill you if you are doing a lot of driving, in that department the diesels have you beat! Best of luck kennethzakaib607@gmail.com Montreal Quebec Canada.
Of course Ian has a Pink Phone case...he's the only one smart enough to know that A. pink phones are easier to find when dropped or left somewhere, and B. no one is gonna try to steal it. Great video of them having fun learning stuff....you can tell its gonna be a great video when your mechanic rides his bicycle to the vehicle revival.
Awesome camera work.
It's as if the makers of The Blair Witch Project decided to make a video about getting an old truck running.

Nice sounding Old ford!
i got an old mazda e4100, pretty similar to these old fords, gonna start fixing it up soon, nice vid
It's awsome, takes me back to my childhood years.
Be patient with the shifting linkage as there's a lot of throw room and if it works as is-leave it alone! Great acquisition enjoy!
Cheers!

To much fun
I've seen these old C cabs with so many different engines. 8.2 Detroit/Allison , 3208, gas Fords, etc
But the 390 industrial is the best lol
No love for the 534?
@@brownwrench those are pretty cool too, but they get no mpg’s 😂
@@lifeontheranch1659 390 or 391?
I ahvw one with a dump bed, it runs great
Have to give it some gas, keep it running.
Does anyone else likev the sound of that starter when that truck is being cranked?
Сцепление не выжимает ведёт ,детям игрушка 💃🔥💣
Missing on at least 1 cyl
you need a new slave cylinder or brake fluid, it should not grind you will ruin a trans easy by not using clutch
OMG do you know what your doing?
Does Ian have a pink phone?

Yikes. The camera work made me dizzy.
