      Yep! The riffs, the drums, the vocals, the atmosphere, such a fucking black metal masterpiece. Other albums from that era are all classics, from A Blaze....., to Panzerfaust, but this one has things the others dont have.

    This album is what Black Metal is all about, it's all in there, the whole fucking thing.
    Fenriz' drumming is also brilliant on this one. Those short double kicks coming out of nowhere, amongst other details, are pure gold. I've always said Nocturno Culto's uniquely expressive vocals always adds something to the songs, but so does Fenriz' drumming, no matter how simple he gets.

    So I concur with Fenriz in that "Inn i de Dype Skogers Favn" is one of the best Black Metal tracks from Darkthrone... Though I put it this way: this song, among with the rest of them here, make it the best pure Black Metal album of all time (that's my perspective, at least).

    • @gehennagehenna1373
      @gehennagehenna1373 Před 4 lety +1

      Absolutely! I like Burzum better, but when it comes to pure Black Metal, this is it!

    • @gehennagehenna1373
      @gehennagehenna1373 Před 4 lety +1

      turdidae Different beast. Burzum had those old school riffs, but generally, not much metal in Burzum. The man's strenght was songwriting and atmosphere
      And to be fair, Fenriz himself talks about Burzum as "the shit"!

      @@gehennagehenna1373 lol It's funny how Varg called the guitar a n* instrument, then retracted that and said most music written on it is n* music, yet most of his stuff is guitar/bass/vocals/drums, which is basically rock'n'roll, which was originally black people's music. He's always been the best at revisionism.

      There are several EXTREMELY subtle chords changes in the main riff of this song that most people can’t hear. It makes it what it is.

      @slaythembeforeme Před rokem

      @@awesomeguyscej6186 lol. What? All the metal subgenres you mentioned are extreme metal. I can't think of anyone who prefers TH preferring DSBM either

    • @lordnorthumberland277
      @lordnorthumberland277 Před rokem

      @slaythembeforeme I think he's generally right on this point - TH basically made the DSBM subgenre and almost all its adherents say as much as far as their influences go. Draugr, Leviathan, Xasthur, etc. TH tends to be the favorite for folks who like slower and downpaced black metal like early Judas Iscariot.

      They've said that Zephyrous left the band because of "hatred again humans" (?) (maybe against the Darkthrone guys?), he kinda felt like an outsider because of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto being close friends, and they've also said that he went into the forest and was never seen again. But then Nocturno said that he has been in touch with him, he might wanted to do something again with the guys, but that's it, no more info.
