I lived in Japan for 3 years as a child, military brat here. I remember seeing all of the shop keepers out cleaning the sidewalks in front of their shops.
I always like to describe Japan as a country that is silently busy. Everyone tends to keep to themselves, maintaining a routine, but there is so much movement. This is the way we live our lives! It is interesting to see how others appreciate our way of life!

I love Japan so much and would love to live there. It's so respectful, you treat everyone and everything with a lot of attention and respect. And it is so clean, there is no trash bins in the street and still it's the cleanest place I've ever seen. I am really in love with Japanese people. The fried corn that you’re making is called bakwan in my country. We usually make it together with sliced carrots, sliced cabbage and sometimes small shrimp. But we can also make a simple one like the ones you made here.
Spices we normally use is sliced leeks, grinded red onion and garlic.
The scale between flour and corn flour is 3:1.
Mix them all together and then add pepper powder, msg, sugar and baking powder.
Mix again and then add water slowly until right consistency, then fry it as usual.
