Good Job! My gate opener is the Amos brand. Works rain or shine,power or not. Tends to get pissy in bad weather though :)
Side note: always get tickled when I see newbies put both hinge pins pointed up. They are so proud of their work until I lift the locked gate off of the pins.... Had several friends do that.
Ya I paid a guy good money to put in some fencing and gates. He hung the gates puns up.
Ran him off after he wouldn't correct it.

I’m on my second mighty mule. 1st one lasted about 10 years. Circuit board got toasted. The one thing I’ll suggest on any of them is to keep a few spare fuses in the box

I would spray thin film of oil on electronic card, to prolong the corrosion on card, as moisture can go inside, spray or apply film of oil on battery connectors, I saw missing paint spot as you remove the bracket, good idea we retouch up with paint on bare metal, it will start rust from that missing paint spot. I would repaint after 3 or 6 months on gate metal, with paint brush, factory coating might not be that thick. I hope not adding extra works on your daily job.....Very nice job Josh.
I have the exact opener and gate. Happy with it but the clamps on the gate have crushed the gate tube making it loose. I plan to use a couple pieces of angle iron and some more robust clamps on the angle iron and reclamp the clamps to the gate, I was surprised that the clamps crushed the tube. Tightening did not help just crushed the tube more. Gate from Tractor Supply and Ghost kit is very nice. Thanks good video

That gate opener would work really good in the steer Barn especially when you're going in and out all the time. Is there different speeds to open and close.

That's a great old truck
Just fyi that truck is a 79 model. They only made that grill type truck for 2 years. The 78 had round head lights and the 79 had squared head lights. The body style is from 1973 to 1979. Depending on the type of truck you could get the engine in the 300 6 cylinder and the 352, 360, 390 and the 460 8 cylinder engine. most were automatics with the c6 transmissions. However there were other transmissions available as well.
Hopefully that’ll keep the kids out, ,be safe with the hurricane coming

How is your ghost gate working out. I'm thinking about getting one. Just wondering how yours has held up.
I have been considering putting gates on each end of my driveway which has 2 entrances to keep people from driving through like it is another road but am having trouble figuring out how to make it so people that I want to come in have access to get through without having to buy a bunch of remotes or 4 keypads so they can enter from both directions (my wife babysits and has several people coming to drop off or pick up at different times of the day)
you can program your single remote to open 2 gates

One personal pet peeve: When leveling a 16 foot gate, please use something longer than a 2' level :) I always cringe watching people plumb a 10 foot post with a 9" torpedo level.....

22 minutes and eight seconds later . Probably deafly won't buy a mighty Mule . How many watt solar panel is that for the batteries ?I like other contained and you don't have a deep cycle battery just laying on the ground like the other unit .very nice instructional video.

Engineering my own gate and I find myself in question of the reliability of Ghost Controls over Mighty Mule...... Seems everyone is disgusted with Mighty Mule and since your video is 2 years old now, how is Ghost Control holding out?

Ghost is better than the mighty mule...we have both. Also get a deep cycle marine battery these little batteries just don't last long at all. Solar charger will keep it up and you'll have less issues
