Peter Draws Oh I'll flip through all day long. 👌
I can attest to these existing (And being amazing :))
Peter I hope you know you are a very nice person.I fell like you help out a lot of people emotionally you are very funny and a great artist keep up the funny relaxing art commentaries.
I may have transcribed your number stream but I don't think I'm prepared for counting all those dots. I'll do it if you say the word though big hoss
If i can only buy them from Europa without pay-pal or creditcard.. We use IDEAL. Its so hard to buy something from Amazong or to buy something amazing of your books.
My estimate: 48,479 dots
I took a screenshot, loaded it into gimp, scaled the image to a single pixel with linear interpolation, and then took the color of that single pixel. The color was d1d0d1, or an average of 208.67 out of 255 possible values (255 being white), so, this means the image was 81.83% white, or 18.17% black. I then took a sample of a fairly homogenous square of dots, which had a blackness density of 14.77%, and counted the individual dots in that sample (37 dots per 1148 square pixels).
The full image was 1222689 square pixels
Extrapolating from this sample, I did the following calculation:1222689 sqpx * 37 dots (at 14.77% blackness) / 1148 sqpx / 0.1477 (sample blackness density) * 0.1817 (population blackness density) = 48,479 dots
Somali Girlfriend Who Pirated Your Pirate holy shit I was hoping someone would actually answer it
WOW!! that is a bit quicker than counting, i think i gave up counting around 134 dots. ;-)
Nice job!
r/ thedidthemath
you're fkning insane
At least two dots
Stoop Kid not wrong but quite off the mark )
i mean you aren't wrong..
Ima hazard a guess and say three
Hmm I'd say atleast 1
Notebooks and notebook paper is recycled. So in that case, you could be drawing on your past drawings.
Im so proud of you petemeister, Seriously
Been following you for a very long time, and I just wanted to say how happy I am you've made it this far and are still pursuing your dreams.
Love you, Best wishes!
he took the words right out of me
the intro was quite the experience
Peter, tape a pedometer / fitbit to your pen and it should count the dots 😉 worth an experiment me thinks 👍
genius
Peter Draws ..Thank you Sir 😉
bonus
Stuart Mortimore you don't have to call her an idiot
lmao
I mean thats gotta be at least 12
I'macat well, you’re not wrong
1. Intro was epic.
2. Sometimes those recycled drink holders smell so nasty and then the stank gets on your hands. Blegh.
3. I would guess there's about maybe 12345 dots.
Stuart Mortimore, oh, second salty comment written by you, seriously, what's your problem
Steinn Bjorn they are not the salty ones here...
The amount of patience, time, and strength for something like that is something i truly honour you for lol. No way could i ever accomplish something so beautiful and unique
Xanthia Lawley your Comment is at least nice and definedly Unique.
I never thought about strength playing a part in creating a piece of art but honestly I feel stupid for not making that connection. This needed strength is not the ability to lift a weight but the mental durability to place each dot purposefully knowing the end of their placing is far away
Was just scrolling through my feed to see if you posted a new video I could watch before bed and then the notification popped up.
Cooooooool video. Love the intro
Same for me lol
Saaaaaaame
It hits hard when you realize every frame in the intro could be drawn with stippling
Dots on dots and lots of dots, but when to stop? I know not.
It's tuff sometimes
indeed it is, yet can we ever make enough?
You don't need to make any dots
Justin Xiao Dr.Sues reborn?
Though taken aback by your kindhearted track, I must be true, it is his skill that I lack.
I estimate 21,307 dots.
Chicago Twilight I estimated 21,306 dots?
RainCheck ok give me a few hours
sinister former that’s weird i got 34 dots. not sure what i got wrong
Did you catch the one just above and to the right of the center?
Ryan Fisher sometimes the dots will hide so you have to give them milk in order to count them
I love your videos so much! You make art fun. I've grown as an artist so much watching your videos.
I think adding stippling makes any piece just a little more special.
Peter, you are so good at video editing to music. The intro to this, and the vlog you did at the beach at sunrise a while back are so good. I could watch a whole channel's worth of just that stuff. Your art and commentary is great as always too. Keep on being Peter.
it's like I wake up and don't feel great, but then I see a Peter draws video has come out while I slept. So I settle myself down to watch it and all my stress melts away. Thanks for posting Peter.
Thanks for doing what you do. You're an inspiration to us all. It's always peaceful and uplifting to watch you work.
I have a hard time getting calm enough to sleep, but your videos always help me. My favorite is the walnut ink.
Peter, you’re getting a lot weirder, a hell of a lot better, funnier ... and that intro was a thing of beauty. Thanks
Only 30 seconds into the video so far and love the intro, has that creepy undertones yet so beautiful, your work is always fascinating and amazing 😊 Thank you Peter for another awesome video
edit: I estimate around, hmmmm... 30,241. Don't know why that specific but it's what came to me.
aw this reminds me of a project we did in grade school, but we used a thumbtack to poke holes, ha
looks amazing! like all your work
ooh that's a cool idea, just because I think it would be cool to feel the back of the paper afterwards, and maybe shine a light through it. I'm afraid I would start putting some of the dots too close together though and big chunks of the paper would fall out completely..
We did this too, and we placed colored cellophane and shined a torch through it. Looked neat !
One day, I don't mine when, I want you to voice some story, or voice over something soothing. You're voice is amazing and I love it. Great video Peter!
I love you, man. Stay good, stay vital. The universe needs you.
Love this channel! glad I found it :)
This video is love
This video is life
Matt silver?
(I hope someone gets the joke)
love it.
esp the pacing and tone of your voice.
enjoyed it.
thanks Peter
I love this intro so much, it’s absolutely mystifying and calming at the same time! Glad I watched this video for a study break, keep up the good work!
wow. the art and even the intro was breathtaking.
Loved the intro Peter. So good! A long time ago I somehow ended up on your website looking through some of your art and I found them so dreamy and beautiful. Since then I've been following your videos for a while, but only recently subbed. Just wanted to thank you for being a true inspiration an I love the way you allow the piece to evolve and become something more than what you maybe intended.
I think it needs to be 2. Stippling is about the related distance between one dot and another. Therefore the minimum is 2.
oh dang the intro nearly lulled me to sleep, made me so calm!
Peter, I love your work. It inspires me, gives me new hope and new perspective to look at world. Thank you.
i think your drawings are just half of what makes you an artist
That opening was kind of confusing with the movie clips but it was a great way to start it off and it was incredibly soothing, love you work💯❤️
What a beautiful, amazing intro, i hope you continue with that style for your next video. Well done.
Well done on the intro, Peter. Very thought-provoking.
that's amazing, just wow, im like really blown away man, you really got better compared to your older videos
I really like your new icon.
Pillows are one of my favorite things aside from a really good comforter.
Another excellent intro. went well with all you do. Thank you. You are an inspiration.
That intro was AMAZING!! That looks like you took a lot of time and effort went into making which makes since since I’m sure stippling all those dots took just as long. Bravo!
So I got 39342 dots. I took a screen shot after 5 seconds of dotting, opened in Photoshop and manually counted crossing them off as I went to not lose track. I got 536 dots/5 seconds. Dots start at 2m52sec (172 seconds), dots end at 8m59 seconds (539 seconds). 539-172=367 seconds of dotting. 367 seconds*(536 dots/5 seconds)=39342 dots.
I absolutely Love the dramatic images and how you arranged them. of course I love the drawing too, I really enjoy watching a stiple drawing develop.💟💟💟
Peter is the type of artist we need to take a semester of Ap art history to analyze ONE of his illustrations.
HE IS THE GOD OF ART I SWEAR
EVERYTIME I FINISH A VIDEO IM LIKE " WTF AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE I COULD BE DRAWING SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN MY SPARE TIME!!"
BUT THEN I PROCEED TO SIT ON A COUCH AND WATCH UR VIDEOS ALL DAY😂
Dude besides Jazza you're a huge inspiration for me man, you just have so much passion, I've barely drawn anything in weeks but you give me some passion. I really gotta muster up the energy to draw again man.
There’s no way I would have the patience for this style of art.
I like that you used scenes from the (1959) Ben-Hur movie in the beginning. Very interesting intro man! Great job with the stippling, I love your art, keep it up! :)
i like how u added white noise in the background, it makes me focus n follow the path of your thinking
Amazing intro, Amazing Artwork... and interesting commentary with the always thought provoking ideas ... perfectly enjoyable on so many levels.... THANK YOU Peter ! : ]
The intro sucked me into another univers. Incredible.
*Exactly 3 300 003 dots!*
Calligraphy Masters you counted every one
Not today Satan
You put me to sleep when I’m stoned out of my mind love the commentary 1000/1001
Sorry peter but no ones perfect :/ but you’re pretty close
Your videos are the best kinds of story videos! ♥
I can't stop watching once I click on a video.
You’re so good at this stuff... I can hardly draw or create my own drawing. I honestly wanna be like you one day as in the way you make your own art. Hope you keep doing this because you take me away from a lot of stress💯
i’m just trying to learn how many dots it’ll taken and peter’s out here giving me an artistic experience
Hey Peter I just wanted to say i've been watching since you were doing sketchbook tours and wood burning and I bought your first book as soon as it came and it's crazy to see how far you've come especially since quitting your job and going full time. I hope the lines stay infinite we would hate to run out of combinations.
Your art is so darn satisfying my boy!
Peter exposing the big ideas in life with art, bravo
Love love love your editing.
Your voice is the most relaxing thing since sliced bread
Peter, thank you again for a video. I wanted to share something with you. Nothing really. Just a truth about you and I. I started drawing a year ago, I am 33 maybe 34. I cant remember. The point is you are the reason made my first doodle. Not watching you draw but listening you talk when drawing. Something about the way you talked about lines and dots. It made a lot of sense. Thank for you being a part of my daily life even though I dont get share coffee with you.
Incredible video, as per usual. Keep up the good work.
I bet there are over 50,000 circular bois there.. Btw, love that you emphasize "drawing" more than "art" on your channel.
Peter it’s been a hot minute but I’m glad you’re doing okay. Your art is looking so good! I’m sorry I took a super long break from you :( still thinking about you, too.
Bro that intro was amazing and powerful
love the way this video turned out!!
After a long hard day of studying I can finally take out my wings and fly to my source of inspiration of the day. Now, time to draw.
Thank You so much for inspiring me. I really apreciate Your artwork
I never been so inspired to draw some bubbles!!!!
You're like a modern day Bob Ross just with a different art style
I just came from a Broadway show. I still like the Peter show the best.
A line is countless dots
Ross Gebert-goldsmith mind blown
maths :)
"Let's find out. One, ah-twooo, ah-threee... CRUNCH"
So, are you eating the paper or the pen?
I just bought a couple stickers of your art from designed by hümans. Can't wait to put them on my laptop.
Not sure how many, but I like a pencil for stippling because you can use different pressure to make bolder or more subtle dots. You can with pen to some extent, but nowhere near as much as with a pencil. The problem is the faint dots don't show up well in a photo of the piece.
Phenomenal intro Peter
Make more of these i love this art style!
Top notch intro Peter!
The beginning was unexpected and scared me but it's okay because the rest of the video calmed me down and I'm happy now c:
sorry for scaring you
ahahahaha
i dont know what the beginning of this video are, but it kind of moved me.
I can't explain why,but it did.
I don't care how poorly done or old my different pieces are, I can't stand to get rid of one single piece of it. It lets me look back and feel proud of how much further I've come, but also sometimes my old art gives me inspiration/ideas for new art. Old art is an accumulation of ideas, and sometimes I'll put that accumulation all into one piece.
That intro was beautiful man, awesome new vid 👍
i still think you should use the ms spray can tool to make a big picture. it's an automatic stippling machine basically
The introduction sequence reminds me of a fragrance commercial.
There is at least 2 dots on that page maybe even more on the right day, wind direction or something.
When you were drawing this i was wondering where the actual details and shapes were but then i saw the zoomed out picture and i was like ohhhhhj
just spent the last 6 hour counting each and every dot for you peter, there are 33,903 dots! now i need to sleep
I recognize some of this stock footage as scene’s from Herner Herzog’s Antarctica documentary.
You are literally an art wizard
watching on the lowest speed is the funniest hting ive listened to
river D omg! 😂😂 he sounds asleep or drunk
in design and technology we called this rendering in dots, and i am not sure if i remember rendering in graphite for some reason
Amazing man. Just brilliant
I'd say about 200,000 dots as a rough estimate. I split the image into sections based on dot density, eyeballed the width and height in dots and added the areas up. It's probably quite far off but meh, I might make a program to count the dots later if I'm bored enough :P
That intro was so Peter-ey.
The intro is amazing
The intro is beautiful
I thought it was a perfume ad at first
if we used the scan to calculate how much of the page is white vs black, we could count the dots that way
When I watch your videos makes me feel high for some reason
