  • In this episode I'm tackling timing chain replacement on Nissan Sentra 2.0. This was a nightmare. Lack of knowledge, time and tools really kicked my ass this time. With help from my friends and the I pulled through and finished this shit production. This episode was filmed over a month. Feel free to tag along and watch me struggle.
    Big THANK YOU goes to Jordan M. and Maciek W. for letting me use their tools and helped me with their resources and knowledge.

    Odd.. was going thru this same task of same 💩 and, upon resetting up today to continue removing the ABSURD number of IMPOSSIBLE to reach (fat hands) timing cover bolts, of WAY TO MANY SIZES, i finally decided to check and see via YT if there were gunna be any ‘other’ surprises I’d be faced with.. I watch this vid & well, the odd thing about it is the “French” was near identical &, blood donor situation!! I have a general distain for all transverse mounted engine arrangements for their extreme lack of engineered space, for ANY damned repairs but NISSAN tops the list of STUPID! Dude I’m changing my cylinder head by myself with minimal knowledge, by far the biggest thing that’s kicked my ass is the lack of tools + knowledge. I’m still confident I can do it, but this is way more complicated than I originally thought. Was this car having the symptom of shaking bad until 2400+ RPM?
    I looked up the symptoms because I've already replaced plugs, coils, belt tensioner, belt, intake gaskets
    And cleaned the injectors the help fix this but I've had no luck so far. My car is still shaking and throwing a code for multiple cylinder misfire. It's starting to tear up the motor mount that's how bad it's getting

    • @barnhouseinc
      @barnhouseinc  Před rokem

      The symptom on this car was a crazy rattle… it didn’t misfire or throw codes… i uploaded one Short video with the rattle before i started taking it apart. Maybe you’ve got a vacuum leak? Or bad MAF Sensor…or even something bad with fuel delivery…

    • @jacobwebb8818
      @jacobwebb8818 Před rokem

      @@barnhouseinc I've checked fuel trims, MAF etc. Vacuum is all good. I tried checking timing (it's supposed to be 6° (+/- 5°) at idle and mine is at -°4 idle and I checked power balance and when I disable cylinder 4 my car barely shudders. It makes a difference but hardly at all. I'm thinking about checking compression next. It would realistically only be coils, plugs and injectors that would keep that cylinder from firing properly imo.
      I'm gonna check knock sensor next, after that compression then 🤷🤷🤷 we'll see from there
