I find it incredible every time I watch 'What you know', to see how young people are lacking in basic education in Trinidad and Tobago . Politicians and teachers (past & present) should hang their heads in shame and be embarrassed to show their face in public; having failed and still failing generations of children( some of whom are adults) to a life of drudgery and unpreparedness for adulthood. Parents too, should reproach themselves. They have failed their children by not equipting them for the world of work, to enable them to provide for themself or a family.
This country have for to long shirk it's basic responsibility to provide a decent education to ALL its citizens.
Education should not only favour children who have parents who show an activec interest in their educational progress and development and will fight to ensure they are educated properly.
Every child must have an equal right to a good education and every teacher need to ensure this happens.
We need Educators : teachers , heads, governors, directors and ministers to be accountable for children's continious progress and development .
If a poor island like Cuba can produce world class students from impoverished background, why can't Trinidad?
