bharat originally comes from sanskrit word "BHARATA". It means the land where people are engaged towards light of enlighment. BHA=light(enlighment) , RATHA=being involved ❤❤❤

And the currency as well. Both India and Bharat are the official names, just that we never write Bharat in roman script. It's always written in Devnagri. Besides, the first line of the constitution says "India that is Bharat.."
"Bharat" is a Sanskrit word made by combination of 2 roots words that is ''Bha" which means light, enlightenment or knowledge and then there is "Rat" which means devotion, making a complete meaning that is a land of people devoted to enlightenment or knowledge..

India and Bharat, both names are already specified in the constitution. So, there's no need to change the name. We could use both names interchangeably. The government is only planning to use Bharat name more often, especially on international platforms
