I think it would be worthwhile getting the engine bay cleaned out, sort out the engine cooling, and making sure that all of your filters are clean & seals are intact before any type of journey away from places where you can get food and supplies for the boat.
Yep. Been part of plan. Constant drip been refilling it 🤦♂️ were way along from this episode at min… been one issue after another. Even a suntan today 😂 watch this space.. bleeding thing been stripped canal sides 😂 was told engine was reconditioned.. turns out, nah!
@@HistoricHospitality “reconditioned” lump of frustration more like. Your boat is small enough & the engine bay big enough that you might want to consider a hybrid drive at some point. Save on fuel & get a bit of quiet cruising.
Might be worthwhile dropping a line to narrowboatwill as he is pretty good with engines in general. I don't know if he is near you at the moment but its worth a try.

So, I am going out w a few friends & see em. But otherwise I just get to do more of the same.. getting my parents home ready to sell. So Bday or not my to-do list sadly doesn't finish itself. Hahaha. I did promise myself though, from my Bday on up, and since I've got only a few items left, I am going to start and explore Berlin, one day a week all summer and fall. Taking pics, going to Museums, see old buildings etc. After all this work, I am really looking forward to this. .. The great news is, that you got interviews set up! That means they are interested in you. Finding a great fit of course takes time. But since it's London, I am sure it won't take long for you to find a place you enjoy working at, and that pays well enough to make it worth your time to get out of bed for. Just a normal day of been an narrow boat owner, You might need to invest in a wee moto engine for back up in the future. U must have passed a Water Tap on that route, but glad the Fire station was able to help you
Oh it got so much worse after this vlog 😂😂😂 8 days in to an 8hr trip now lol. Plodding.. fixing! Relief they said yep.. or no phone that next morning be massive problem lol
I'm sorry that are experiencing all of these mechanical mishaps. That poor engine has been sitting neglected for too long to expect to be traveling trouble free. When you first said you were moving I thought oh no I hope he gets a full service and give it a test run. I'm sure by now you have had the boat transported and serviced. Can I make a suggestion that you take a basic diesel mechanics course either on hand or on line. It would save you lots of money and time in the long run. Good luck.
3 miles.....Well I had to do exactly the same motor failed and we pulled it all the way to Droylsden it took us 11 hrs ...I completely feel every inch of the way.pulling wasn't too bad.... But the locks where a nightmare

Get a bilge pump to clear engine bay first , u must have overheated ur engine by going fast , bless ya pulling ur boat , things will get better once u sort out ur engine
I’ve got two but no water, electric, gas lol. Fast? Engine barely got me moving 😂 few faults within in it turns out. Next episodes detail it all. Basically was lied to about it being “tuned up for sale” far from lol. This pulling it along theme has carried on! I’m surviving.. just 😂
