Isn't it beautiful?! You traveled past my elementary school, my high school sweetheart's farm, the churches I went to, my cousin's house ...and my road at 44.48. You probably have no idea the level of American history you traveled over. It's crazy here. I grew up here (Varina), lived all over the country for 23 years, and returned. It's still much the same out here and we are FIGHTING to keep the strip malls and concrete out of here. We love it this way and it makes me happy to see you rate it #1. I agree. Thanks so much for this video!!!!

    I rode on 7/27/21. 86°... pleasant.
Beware when getting near Jamestown. Lots of driveways, community entrances. Some have Stop signs , Yield signs or no sign.
Pay attention to ALL of them.
    Thanks for this.great post.

You are my new hero. I am turning 45 this month and I want to do a century ride this year and I've decided that I'm going to do it on the virginia capital trail. Thank you for this video and all the others that capture the beauty of our area trails. You're so awesome at showing all the facts and stats. You are helping a lot of people that ride in this area and others that want to come visit. You're awesome. Thank you

Try "Great Shiplock Park" for the parking. The parking lot is small so get there early and avoid sunny day.

Exceptionally well done video capturing your west (Shiplock Park) to east (Jamestown) ride on the “Cap.” Have you ever considered adding a voiceover post ride? Your viewers (that haven’t ridden The Virginia Capital Trail) would gain a great deal of insight. Yes, cyclists planning a trip to this Ride could review the Cap’ Trail Foundation’s website- and probably “fill-in the blanks” related to whatever a rider needs to know.
I happen to live in Richmond and enjoy riding on the Cap’ a few times a week... A companion voiceover would reflect how much the course really does change from segment to segment. Since my schedule is flexible, I’m able to avoid weekend Trail riders that may lack bike handling skills, which often increases your heart rate for the wrong reason. I reserve weekends for road rides far from Richmond on 600 numbered county backroads.
Admittedly, I advanced some of the footage along Route 5 where (we) riders lose consciousness of the “asphalt ribbon,” but I did check your speed in a few locations suggesting that I could be spinning faster at that juncture on my next ride ;) Thank you for the outstanding post!

Inspiring ride! I ride the Capital to Capital trail almost every Weekend and love it always. However my distance, speed, and power averages are much less than yours. Your average speed going up the hills from the City of Richmond is now my goal, rather than huffing and puffing at 5 or 6mph like I usually do 😂
