  • Maryland Gov. Wes Moore pardoned more than 175,000 past marijuana convictions Monday, clearing the names of people who were found guilty of possessing small amounts of marijuana.

      Taking a minor misdemeanor offense off your record, is he giving everyone their money back for fines, how about another $1000 a day if you did jail time. Show me the money.

      That’s what “Pardoned” means the conviction has been overturned and eradicated from public records. This is absolutely awesome, now people who was convicted can vote, and apply for public service jobs

    Bravo, this is a great start. I hope other states learn This is a positive step for all the citizens that have been brutalized by marijuana convictions. And the marijuana provision, we did it on alcohol years ago.

    I’ve tried it, don’t like it. I don’t smoke it. I don’t drink either. But, way to go Maryland. You got this one right. This is really the best idea. I still won’t smoke it but I believe that others should be able too.

    This is great. This may help the fact that we, as a nation have 25% of the incarcerated people in the world, despite the U. S. Only having about 4% of the world's population.
    Our citizens aren't meaner, or more criminal minded than people in other countries.

      I take to mean that those individuals should have been the ones convicted and incarcerated for those type of actual crimes and not marijuana. Too many get away for worse than marijuana. I hope that is what was meant.

    Thank you. This will ensure primarily our black brothers and a few of our sisters will have access to the financial and educational resources needed to live in decency. Now this is the start to accountability, being reasonably responsible in response to grave injustice and hypocrisy. Yes there should be compensation. Not only for cannabis, but also for other racist convictions to disproportionately get rid of competition, oppress and disenfranchise.

    How do I find out if I'm on the list of pardons,I plead guilty for manufacturing in 1993 , they had no product, just 4 bucket and dirt ,I plead guilty for the recommendation of no jail time fines and classes,am I on this list ? Does anyone know,?

    SERIOUSLY, the best move of a governor in a long time! Those convicted of crimes that are no longer considered crimes should have been let out already --but at least it's happening!! Free up the prisons, let's get even & women out there working and helping our communities. Knowing there r folks doing like 20 years for possession of just pot is RIDICULOUS! Murderers get 5-10 all the time...I'm so glad marijuana is being recognized as a medical miracle for many of us! We need to focus on bigger things. SHOUT OUT GOV!!!! U run for Pres?     Maybe Wisconsin can take a hint and finally change some laws, we have nothing for Marijuana legalization, we might be the last state to change these laws , even though almost 80% of residents want full legalization. And Evers gets blocked at every effort for any changes, no matter what they are . So sad

    Im just wondering how many of those convictions were the "lesser" charge in a plea deal? Or, how many were involved in a traffic stop, under the influence. Hmmmm......hope im wrong but time will tell.

    What are we going to do about the harassment we're about to get so they refill the prisons cause they're not having guard layoffs. Can we military skip rank training in a prison guard to military pipeline? Can guards that are voted by guys in be their teacher/ job coach/ P.O. on the outside? Can guys be voted by inmates into classes to be thier counselors on the outside?
