Bought an MA2 Console - I feel like a real LD now!

- I can't believe it! After years of hard work, the timing was finally right for me to buy my own GrandMA2 Light. This is truly a big step on my journey towards refining my skills as a lighting programmer and designer. I purchased this console about a month ago after searching tirelessly for the right one. It was born in Germany, lived in the UK, and now has immigrated to the USA.
She's a 2016 8GB MA2 Light. Still don't have a name for her yet... but she is available for rental based out of Seattle.
This MA2 will be hitting the road with me for the next two months on the Zomboy Rott N Roll II tour, so be sure to come say hello and check out the show if I am in your city.

Oh, i can really understand your feelings! I'm living not far away from Paderborn (in Hannover which is about 200km away from PB) where your GrandMA was born. I'm not a user of MA. I'm using Chamsys (Southampton) instead and worked with a PC WIng for about 8 Years now. And me too - i found a real Chamsys MQ100 console in a good condition a few months ago and it reached me 24th January, so it was my 2nd X-Mas then! And it was a big X-Mas!! And same as You - i have a little 'playground' with some screens for some extra infos and if there would be enough time i would just come out from there for eating and drinking perhaps. ;-) So we have some similar experiences the last weeks and i will watch, what you're doing and enjoy your fantastic videos with a lot of 'extra work' and hope you will go on like this! You're a good guy and doing a very good job (for us viewers and for the force of light!)! I wish You alle the best and every time some free space on your Granny!

Great Console. I bought my fullsize in Dezember 18
For important shows we had always two computers one for the show one as backup.Also a lot off spare equipment on location. So touring with one MA console is tricky

Congratulations! Welcome to the club! Just keep it away from fine dust gigs and festivals if you can, It messes the faders and cherry mx keys up and you'll have to replace them all the time :/

Congrats, buddy. I'm an aspiring LD and am trying to learn the basics of MA through trial and error, which has been rather difficult, especially since I've spent a lot more time with Hog. I don't know if you've worked with High End consoles in the past, but if so, would you consider doing a video on why you chose MA over Hog (or any other comparable brand)?
Pretty much learned MA out of necessity. It’s the most common desk at major music festivals and that’s what I wanted to do
I've heard rumor that MA is no longer manufacturing the MA2 consoles (in an effort to sell more MA3s) so you may end up making money off of it next year as demand goes up haha

We bought a MA3 and the lady arrived 2 weeks ago. The thing is, I don't think that we will use the MA3 in mode 3 for the next year's. The software is still a beta but it feels more like an early beta as 0.9... Beside that we wanted the 3 anyway we will use it to get familiar with the layout and try to get all steps in software development of mode 3.
Yeah I agree. The three will leave the Ma2 far behind in features, but not for at least another year or two as software development continues
