Fashion designer and illustrator here who has found her representation in form of Chiori in this game! (Yes I am now a proud Chiori main) I haven't yet played this quest properly but I absolutely cannot wait to go back and watch this once I've got time ~ it would be really fun to analyze and break down the fashion industry, designer personalities, styles and trends and so much more in the future once I get to it though! As for now I shall enjoy how much people seem to love her personality and sass as seen so far💕
Yeah. Chiori is very unique and i like that. She is really bratty and direct but that suits her. I am glad that i have pulled her ^^
And because she is in a team with Navia, i gave her C1 :D

I liked Chiori before the story quest, but loved her after all. She is intersting, charming and also has her flaws. ❤ This version has some of the best character quests in the game.

Became a top 5 for me right away ! Not only that shes awsome , but the fact that so many charcters are included in the story it changes everything . It feels alive , connected. Something that i wanted in all genshin story quests , the connection between the chercters is what makes the main one shine ! Not another NPC tale
Well, realistically speaking, there's two main reasons why they don't ramp outfits harder, not that I don't want more outfits:
1) Not a main revenue source. Characters and reruns are still the main draw in Genshin, so they don't feel motivated to ramp out outfits as much.
2) Implementation. Generally, Genshin tries to avoid clipping and stuff because like, if you've seen skin mods for Genshin, you can sometimes see where they clip and bug out in terms of animations; stuff like that. It's not that it's necessarily hard to do, it's just a dev effort kinda deal and due to the first major reason; Hoyo doesn't want to put as much effort into outfits. Especially since in the cutscene they're all just 2D assets and not 3D models.
Making base animations work for these gorgeous outfits would also NOT be a cakewalk, not that it's impossible but more just a kind of thing you don't bother with unless outfits are your primary revenue source.
Hoyo really loves to mock us with all these possible skins we'll never get :')

It might be a small thing, but I like how when Kirara comes into scene the traveler and Kirara do a brief "catching up" convo for you, but for me, the game made Chiori introduce the traveler to Kirara to each other bc it thinks that I've never met Kirara in game due to me not having done any quests or events involving Kirara (I didn't get to do the last event involving her)
I've never met chiori and the dialogue is different haha came back after hiatus
each and every chraacter is very specifically designed, and sometimes the initial designs are entirely scratched simply because its too tricky to animate them, that's why you always see ponytails, or multiple groups of thin strands of hair instead of a one large wavy hair as it becomes very difficult to animate. Not to mention, this is also why they avoid skirts below the knee. 1- no fan service that way 2- a big skirt hides the shape of the legs, which makes it awkward to look at and a little less interesting 3- running around and gliding would be hell to animate with long skirts. just look at ayaya, faruzan etc jumping from height, diving or something, the skirts still act weird even if you are falling from high up, by all means the skirts should be completely inverted lol. Now imagine this with long skirt. it would just look weird..same with way too many hanging tassles alongside the arms(back is fine but with arms, they ll have to animate everything with each hand movement or it ll look weird).
Now, this was why one of the designs shown in this quest would probably never be possible but yes they can still do skins, as long as it doesn't mess with the shape language of a character and isn't annoying to animate(like the few skins that they have already released)

Funny thing about navia and chiori: I think they are basically genshin versions of rarity. Both girls strong willed, girly and determined. Chiori is more on the rarity from my little pony because both are into fashion and they were born to create amazing outfits

One of my favourite things about this story quest was realising just how well I knew Navia as a person. I literally predicted *everything* she did in the quest with 99% accuracy before she even showed up in the quest.

Well, not EVERY patch, but most patches. Usually the x.8 patches have all reruns as a reprieve before the next region releases. ^^

I went from being neutral about Chiori to maining her.
This is was indeed a unique take on a story quest.
This was my first time seeing kirara in game when i played the event so its cool how the dialogue is diffrent
For those who say those 3D skins won’t work you got to see the skin design variety in Honkai 3rd.
I fall to understand how this is supposed to be a genuine argument when the honkai Impact skins are designed to be mostly skin tight/form fitting without a lot of hanging strands or lengthy cloth, similar to their original outfit in terms of silhouette so it's easier to use similar rigging in order to make them quicker to implement, or just a pallet swap of their regular outfit.
I feel like you genuinely don't understand how game development and modeling works if you somehow believe that the skins in Chiori's quest are even SLIGHTLY feasible in a game like Genshin 🗿

Bran story quest tier list when
I do like her story and love her personality. But her kits and abilities didn’t do her justice. I tried her out but it didn’t give me the feeling of “I want to have her on the team whether to explore or try out team setup”. It is such a miss opportunity for such a well written character.
Before any hate comments: It’s just my take. Everyone has their right to either wish for the character they want or not. Don’t take my word for fact but opinions.

I love how Chiori is heavily alluded to being on the spectrum; but she's cultivated her personality into a strong creative with a powerful brand and reputation. I think that's awesome, since many would-be artists are also neurodivergent, and young ones could use a positive role model like Chiori

Honestly the Chiori quest was a little lacklustre but what I really liked about the quest is that it was actually about Chiori, her problems and her past, so many character quests have been about other people that the whole thing could have been just a regular npc side quest.
and this quest is lackluster u said? even tho u admitted that most of those early ogs quests are nothing about themselves but is all about npc? what is this avant garde criticism? i dun get it lmao
blud forgetting that story quests are about how the character in question interacts in their own circles. So to immediately cut the list short:
- Ayato's is about his work in the Tri-Commission trying to keep the goddamn country's political landscape somewhat working;
- Ganyu's is about her place in the world *regarding her connections to the people of Liyue Harbor and the Adepti* and her own misconceptions about said connections;
- Yae's is about her entire light novel interest thing which has connections to her past and other youkai;
- Nilou's is about how she and her found family influences the larger community in Sumeru City and how it inspires people that have only recently gotten into that community;
If a character's circle of interaction is naturally smaller (e.g. Chiori, Xianyun, the Archons, Alhaitham), OBVIOUSLY the character in question is gonna be focused on more in terms of screentime because there's nothing else much to focus ON. You can't drop Alhaitham in some scenario about Akademiya curriculums because he doesn't give a flying fuck about that.

She probably did, but it may not have been enough. Judging by the sheer amount of fabric each outfit had in the cutscene, it's likely the fabric she ordered previously just wasn't enough for the new outfits she envisioned. ^^
mihoyoverse knows such extra skins won't sell now when most are saving for Arlecchino.
That's not even relevant to the discussion... People saving wouldn't be able to buy skins in the first place because most of them are only saving in-game currency 😑
