All i had to do was click to comment and leave, obviously Vita. It's a PSP but better resolution and Vita in one
PSP's hardly ever break. even they break the main components are still good. Ive fixed close to 100 psp's, their hardware is very solid. However PSVita's have so many issues that cannot be easily fixable.

Personally, I recommend getting a second Vita to mod. That's what I did... I keep one stock and modded another one. That way, I can play all of the Vita, PSP, and PS1 games on the Vita. The two sticks really helps with certain PSP games. They all run perfectly on the Vita. Also, it runs a TON of emulators if you are into retro gaming. I literally have thousands of games on my Vita with a 512GB card pretty much completely full. Yeah, I'm insane. lol :-) Anyway, I agree that the PSP has a great library, but the fact that you can ALL of them on the Vita was enough for me to put my PSP on the shelf and mod one of my Vitas. Totally worth it.
@@KabukiKid I think that it might be my long term plan. For now I’m enjoying the collecting aspect of the VITA even if it’s super expensive and hard to get some games 🥲
@@arctic-the-fox Yeah, I guess I am glad I bought a lot of Vita games back in the day... since their value has generally held strong or even gone UP! lol It is a fun system to collect for, I agree. :-)
Out of the box, the PSP is slightly superior, purely because of the games. If you mod both, though, the PS Vita is so much better it's not even funny.
Compatibility for way larger SD cards, all of the Vita, PSP and PS1 games natively on the gorgeous capacitive touch screen, limited run games (they were basically made with the Vita in mind), better feeling dual analogs, way better battery life, huge library of ports and homebrew apps, video output using only a USB cable, way more premium feeling hardware and gyro functionalities. The only thing a modded PSP has over a modded Vita is the portability, it's even smaller than the Vita but that comes with its own amount of problems. Plus, you could argue the Vita is more portable because the 2000 (pretty sure the 1000 too) is slimmer than most PSP models, except for the GO.
Both are goated me personally i like the PSP buttons more

I have both but prefer the vita even tho it’s not the oled version. I’ll probably be selling the psp in the future TBH. I did replace the lcd on it which actually made the screen better.
@@stereode1uxe I feel like the Vita is far more approachable for modern gamers and the library is really good even though it’s not as extensive as the PSP.

Do you find the speakers on the PSP sound a lot nicer than the Vita's? I got an used FAT PS Vita like 4 years ago and I like it, BUT its speakers sound really dull. I don't know if its normal or if my Vita is busted, because both of my PSPs (1000 and 3000) beat it by a lot in terms of sound quality.

had my ps vita oled for about a week now and Im loving it. sold my xbox collection to fund my vita collection im building. got quite a bit of games that are still getting delivered. Im thinking about getting a psp, which model do you recommend?
@@lxcas5401 I definitely recommend the 3000. I think it’s the perfect balance between all the models and has all the features you may want.
Is there a reason you want a psp rather than just playing them (in some cases enhanced) on vita?
@@jacobsabastian3871It sounds like, based on the fact that he sold an Xbox collection to fund a Vita games collection, he wants to build a PSP collection as well. Ergo, he wants to play real UMD's. You can't do that on a Vita. The Vita, as awesome as it is, isn't the end all be all.

The problem is that i want to buy a ps vita, but i dont wanna buy a memory card because of the huge price, and im also not planning on modding it, so the sd2vita also isnt a option.

I still have my psp 3k from 2011, my first ever gaming console. The battery cover has started peeling but it's nothing a lil paint can't fix. I really wanna repair it cuz I am dead set on not separating with it lmfao. The cmos battery is just a little outdated so it's just a matter of replacing the battery.

I had the PSP, and today i own only the vita. For me, PSP is far better: Much better game library, emulators/homebrews, better ergonomics

@@lilBOY993 also very true. The SA Vita store is very limited, I think we only have 10 ish PSone titles available to us.
This is objectively wrong. The Vita literally has every single emulator/homebrew the PSP has since you can boot the PSP XMB and turn the Vita into a PSP. Plus you have better support for more emulators/homebrew since the Vita is way more powerful than the PSP.
I was lucky, got my Persona 4 for around R400 I think... Its been a while. It's a shame you missed Digimon Story... Its like a fusion of Pokémon and Persona 4...

I love Persona... Unfortunately Digimon isn't big here in SA as you know. It was only digital here, but there are physical games for the PS4. Unfortunately they removed the game on Vita. Not sure if the sequel is still on it.

The psp is pretty compact but there’s really no comparison. The vita is so amazing. I don’t play any original vita games but i’ve been playing god of war series, gta series, mm battle network and they all play best on it.
I need to flush out my collection on Vita to have a definitive answer. Do you have any game recommendations?

Also there is one tutorial on how to not overclock (cause some games crash otherwise...at least on my Vita 1000. After doing that everything works flawlessly.)
Vita runs all PSP games so this video is kinda pointless, isn't it? What audience did you have in mind when making this?
Do you mean a modded PSVita ? In SA we barely have any available PSP games on the store.
@@arctic-the-fox yeah, they mean a modded PSVita. If I'm being honest, unless you're a collector, the PSVita is kinda like the Wii U in 2024, there's no reason to keep one around if it's not modded. That's the only way to get the full experience and value out of the PSVita. Normally, I would support buying games straight from the store to not only support developers but to also give Sony a reason to keep the store open for longer but especially lately, it feels like they're doing it just because they have to, not because they're passionate about the PS3's and PSVita's longevity. They're letting both stores fall apart on their own, games randomly disappear and are only accessible through the search results or even worse, nowhere at all.
They could just roll out a patch with some quality of life features and a fully working PS store and I would totally support keeping your PSVita on stock software but since that's not going to happen, the community is making up for them.

@@mahsung8203 reason i reccomended the odin 2 mini is cause its ultra portable and is comparable is size and design language to sony's handhelds. Steam decks are impressive on a technical level but its heavy weight and lack of ulta portability (being able to pocket it) puts it into a different catagory. Alot of people value portability and comfort over being able to play high end games. Same reason people prefer to carry around smartphones instead of laptops. If valve made a mini deck that was more grab and go then we'd really be talking
