Thank you to Maddy for being my trusty right-hand woman and filming me.

Little trick i was taught for showing in hand is when stood in a line get a bit of grass or a treat in your hand and hold under her nose. This will encourage her to drop her head and give a nice shape to her neck.
Also don't be afraid to run quickly it will encourage her to use her knees and lift her tail showing off her strides and the action in her legs. Practice at home so you know the perfect pace to get the best from her.
Overall have fun. You and Bonnie will learn from every show what works for you both. She has the potential to go far. I miss showing my ponies. Will enjoy watching you on your journey with her
Thanks so much for the tips! I need to learn to run better 😂😂
@@footluceeventing 😂your running was ok, just needs some refining. Teach her to match your run instead of you matching hers. She is still only a baby so plenty of time. Good luck
Do not apologise !! You are on your own personal journey with Bonnie, the fact that you’ve taken her on and are doing things that are a big step in her education is so nice to see 🥰
I agree with Gemma - never apologise for being you! You are a lovely person and an excellent horse woman. I have really enjoyed watching and following you during Lockdown and I will be continuing to do so long after lockdown is done! ~ C ~ N.Wales - GB-uk
I am such a sucker for a cute pony!! I would love to see you showing Bonnie more!
I think you should take her out showing as I think it's such good life experience for babies - they see so much that nothing phases them - them I showed my welsh part-bred from about 8mths and she was so easy to break and was completely bombproof - she'd seen so much out showing nothing bothered her
Late but agreed. My horse was shown in hand when she was young and honestly its the best thing anyone did for her, she travels incredibly stayed on the same property for 10 years and then didnt blink when she left. She just like gets off the trailer and looks left looks right puts her head down and says lets go. No tension no excitement nothing. I don't think you have to do well just get out there.
Loved this. Bonnie was a star, she is captivating to watch, and only 2!! I would love to see her progress with showing - fun to watch. And her loading into the lorry - wow, a little sweetheart. You are doing a fab job with her🙂.
Bonnie was just gorgeous and I loved her sass!!
What an absolute darling of a pony. I love her so much.🥰🥰😍😍🥰🥰😍😍
She's SO CUTE. A Welsh Mountain Pony Section A was my dream pony as a kid. They look like tiny shaggy Arabs.
That other Welshie in the second class was gorgeous.
I suspect that the judge had a soft spot for Bonnie.
I think you’re right 😂
She is SUCH a little beauty. I was laughing at your optimism about bathing her the day before, and just having to do touchups on show day. My grey Arabian almost never rolled in mud or guck. He preferred dry sandy areas, which I was always grateful for... EXCEPT the day of a show. He would inevitably find the GREENEST, OOZIEST pile of poo on the farm, and roll in it. Covering his entire side with green stains that took massive effort to scrub out. Even when I blanketed him, he would manage to cover his belly, and up his legs and tail with it. EVERY TIME.
You were very lucky. You also did fine at the show. More ground work will help. But really, I loved her sass. hahaha
What a trip down memory lane! I had a Welsh A pony, 11.4 hands for many years. Came to me as a rehome with foot problems and after 2 years of treatment was able to begin driving her. They are such fun equines. Our Jane was a grey like Bonnie and lived to be 32.
Bonnie's first ribbons! I've never seen this kind of showing before so it was fun to see how it worked! My favorite part was definitely Bonnie standing next to the Shire 😂
What a fancy pony Bonnie is! Playing with ponies at any age is a must. Got my first horse at 12 yrs old. Got my first miniature horse at 55 yrs old. He was a palomino stud, What fun he was. Susan
Ponies 4 life 🐴🦄🐴🦄🐴🦄
@@footluceeventing Forgot to say you were really styling in your show outfit too. Adorable, you two looked. Get yourself a cart and harness, Want to have more fun, get a cart and harness and have even more fun with her.
Take care. Susan
How you were able to concentrate with all those cute as hell shetlands, i will never know, so damn cute! 😍😍😍
I am a huge fan of Bonnie! Since her first vlog when you picked her out of many. She was beautiful for her first show! Really like the white cotton rope halter ( head collar). Clean and simple, not taking away from her beautiful head. Love how she is more gray/ dappling on the back half. For her first show taking home 2 third place and a fourth isn't too shabby! By the way you looked soooo smart! The hat was the topper! Thank you to Matty (Maddy?) for helping out and giving encouragement. Well done all! Look forward to more of Bonnie in the snow ring. PLUS...it being a surprise event. That was fun!!!! Stay safe! 🐎🐎💖😎
I’m loving her colour at the moment too! Making the most of it before she turns all grey 🤍 Thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment 😊💙
Show again Dear, you did well the pony is a baby. Well done. J
Lovely to see you showing Bonnie . It would be great for her education to show her when you want to .
Awww!! Your little mare did so well for her first show! You did a good job Lucy, handling the little dragon at the end with her melting down! Can’t wait to see her future showing. Love from California⛰🌲☀️💙
I thought she did super too!! Thanks for watching 💙
Bonnie did jolly well in her trot ups. You may benefit from some cavaletti work though! This was awesome. Very entertaining. Thank you so much for letting us in.
That was a complete cute overload. Well done little Bonnie (and Lucy of course!).
Loved this! Bonnie is a little star. What a ton of personality packed into that little package. You did a good job for your first in-hand classes together. I look forward to watching your journey!
Keep showing her besides you did very well for her and your first show.I show my greyhounds and have done for quite a few years so just keep at it.You both did very well
Bonnie did amazing for her first show
Please keep showing her. It was adorable. Everyone can learn with you.
Excellent Blog, Bonnie is such a cutie I think you definitely should do more showing with her. She is such a Diva🌟. Loved your outfit, especially the hat, definitely giving an equine Indiana Jones vibe😂. Sorry the Sandwich was a let down☹️. Overall Bonnie did so well it's great to see how far she's come, till next time❤️.
Hahaha Indiana Jones vibe, 100%! Plot twist, the sandwich was actually really good when I put the crisps in 😂
Awh that’s the best vlog ever especially cause Bonnie was a divil to start with 😂🙈 you’ve done a fantastic job Lucy 🙌🏼💪🏼❤️
Oh Bonnie is such cool cute cucumber of a pony who needs to give her big sister some loading lessons I so loved this and for her first ever show she was extremely well behaved especially for her first ever show and here is to more Bonnie showing vlogs and hopefully you can break her in and find a little jockey she has a great showing career so thank you for taking us along not bad for a pony that was nearly 100% feral when you first got her
Just discovered Bonnie updates and just love them.
I think you both did fantastic! Especially when you consider Bonnie’s age. So fun to watch 🥰
Loved Bonnie and she was definitely a winner!
When i saw that you posted another vlog i dropped everything to watch it😂🐴❤️
It was brilliant to see your first in hand with Bonnie, brilliant x.
Obsessed with that show jacket
Same its so lovely
What a beautiful pony.
Well done the both of you !!! Bonnie is so adorable even when she being cheeky nipping and kicking lol she so cute you can’t be mad at her 😄 congratulations to you both ❤️ I think Bonnie did well for being only 2 yes and knowing her background , I say keep working with her and continue showing her
You both did wonderful for the first time. She's just a baby. Work her more . She's beautiful ❤️.
The Welsh is my favorite type of pony. I raced a half Welsh successfully in barrel racing for years. He and I are now changing over to dressage because he's up there in years now and his joints aren't supple enough for speed events any more.
My first time watching! Bonnie is a little dolly!! She is a cutie with an adorable personality!! If you had fun showing her, then I would continue! You are a delightful presenter!
I apologize, I did not get your name!💖🐎💗
You did amazing bonnie and Lucy
Aww she was a little star as she is only a baby. I loved watching you two showing so yes def more showing vlogs if you would. Well done Bonnie and You xxx
I was in stitches with your quote, "I thought that she was going to be a Bonnie Balloon", hysterical...I want more!
Loved your felt? hat. Every event is better when you have a proper hat.
First video of yours that I've watched. I think the 3 classes you entered her in are perfect for her. For her age and experience, and yours with showing, I think you both did fantastic. Definitely show her again, even with her sass she looks stunning. When you see her trot with her tail up, from the dark side of her nose, she looks like a tiny Arabian mare.. Beautiful pony and a great choice of outfit on you. I'm looking forward to watching your previous videos. You have a new subscriber.
Bonnie did so well, bless her! Yes, show her more. The more she is exposed to the better she will be and have fun. Practice getting her to stand up. Crinkling a polo packet wrapper works wonders for showing off a good front. I used to show my Sec D in hand and under saddle and always came back with ribbon. Welshies are such fun to watch when you get the handlers who can really run them. You were lovely too😁
I’ll brush up on my running skills for next time!!
@@footluceeventing The main thing is not to have footwear with slippery soles. Nothing looks good if you hit the deck at the corner. Besides feeling foolish the grass stains are pain. Lol 😆
Very cute! Nice job, keep showing.
Awesome! What a good girl! Love your chill approach to trying new things.
You and your Welsh did just fine. Keep it up and be proud.
I can’t believe I am famous and received a shout out. I have made it 🤩🤩
Well done Bonnie. She is a lot better than mine! Xx
Beautiful job on a gorgeous pony
I have a mini stud who hates bathing. You were very gentle starting with the tail. That’s the way to go. I think the crisp new white halter was a nice touch.
Well done Bonnie🥕🍏🍎 and Lucy
You guys did so well! On my first show my pony was also two and she was behaving like a young stallion, all rearing and kicking at other ponies. Somehow we managed to stay alive in the two rings we did, despite that she was either having a huge meltdown or freezing in place. Idk how, but she ended up as the young welsh cob reserve champion! 😂
She was too cute!
That outfit is darling!! Bonnie is way to cute, so glad to see you taking her out...
Well done Bon-Bon & Luce! xx
Thanks Jess 💙💙
Aww Lucy bonnie was sooo cute 🐴❤️❤️
GO FOR IT LUCE & BONNIE! It makes a nice change for you from having to plait and ride - and it's a chance to mix with more local people. I love all the local shows and gymkhanas and really miss them. Bonnie clearly enjoyed herself and is a dream to load and wait in the trailer between classes.
Bonniedid great for her 1st show. She will get better the mre you work with her.
Bonnie was a little pro! Then she got tired. Great fun Lucy!
You both can learn together and give it a go!
For her first show..good job 👍👏✌
You both did so well! Bonnie was angelic compared to when I tried to take my then 2 year old showing 😂 he reared and came down on my arm...luckily behind the judges back so she didn’t see it and despite our many other airs above the ground we managed to come 3rd in a field of much better behaved youngsters 🙈 my arm was quite damaged though not helped by the fact I had to jump my other horse in the working hunter straight after 😂 we’ve not been showing since...
I love Bonnie, she is so adorable x
Love Bonnie! You both did so well
Yes please do more showing with her, i really enjoyed that! Bonnie (and you!) did so well, especially for the first time🏅👏🏼
Thank you 😊
I loved it and would definitely watch another Bonnie show vlog.
“A Bonnie shaped kite” LOL
You were great! And Bonnie is too gorgeous to not show!! If you give this season a good try she will be a different pony in September. Just like she is a different pony from the one you brought home. 😊😊😍😍
You both did amazing. Lurrrrrrrved the vlog xxx
I really enjoyed this vlog Lucy, Bonnie was such a good girl, just getting a bit tired in the last class, considering she has not really done anything l think she did so well & you looked very smart, l do hope you show her again 💜
Bonnie is a darling pony and well worth all the effort you've put into her. And you both looked just lovely at the show! So sleek and elegant, both of you!
That was so cute. What a lovely outing for her great experience.
Well done to you both. You did really well for your first time showing xx
You both did great congratulations.
The more you show Bonnie, the better you both will show! Keep it up!!!
I love Bonnie The Pony Girl.
Aweee Bonnie was so good first time in a show Lucy I definitely say keep taking her she so very pretty. She’s a little sassy which makes it more fun.you both did fab hope you keep at it I really enjoyed watching this.tfs😎
So much sass 💁🏻♀️ 😍 Thanks for watching 💙
Great to see bonnie out and about, loved it, just a little different 😊 in a good way.
Lovely video , bonnie and you did great for her first show
deffo more Bonnie .... and more show outfits - i always wanted to wear those yellow jodhpurs
Exposing her to everything is a great idea. Maybe take her as a companion with other horses to shows (if possible) to get her use to everything
Well done,Bonnie is adorable! I definitely think you should do more showing! 🙂
BONNIE VLOG!!!!! She is just the cutest!
Oh you did a beautiful job! 100% you need to do this it was great!
Well done team Bonnie! Great results - and it was your first time! 😍👏 She’s a beauty and you handled her so well when she played up! ✨
😍 So cute!
I’ve seen the little coloured and Welsh pony at another show at Forest Edge in the youngsters before! Well done!! ❤️
Hello from Chelmsford ON 🇨🇦
I think you both did quite well 👍👍👍 I really enjoyed watching 👍💖 1st time.. just happened upon you 😊😊
She’s an adorable little devil 😍 would love to see more Bonnie adventures
Isn’t she just! She makes me laugh 😂
Ahhh cant wait to watch!!!!❤❤
Good job. Enjoyed
Bonnie is so cute, it's ridiculous!
Awwww great vlog as always Lucy!!😘
For her age and considering how wild she was when you first got her, I think you have done amazingly with little BonBon. She is so cute and pretty and you both did brilliantly for your first outing, coming home with 3 rosettes is a fantastic result hun!!
I think you should definately carry on showing her, as it can only help get her used to more sights and sounds and it gives you a chance to work with her more too Lucy.
So well done hun, (hope you weren't too bruised after her little devil moments 😂) and look forward to your next outing together! ❤
Thank you!! Oh well I’ll have to consult the showing calendar by the sounds of it 😂💙
@@footluceeventing Oh yes definately hun! 😁 💜
wish my pony was as good as bonnie is. She's such a blessing and u have done so well with her. 😁
Ill try ride her when shes broken in😁
Patience & practice 🥰 you’ll get there in time! X
@@jenniferrebecca2813 thanks for the advice im going to try and do mounted games with him soon but until i started riding him (about 6 months ago) he hadnt been out in 2-3 years
@@equinemads wow! That’s amazing progress though. Re-starting them after 2/3 years break can be really tricky. Trust yourself x
@@jenniferrebecca2813 thanks so much😁 hopefully i can record our progress and post it on my channel😁
@@equinemads you should! I’d love to watch it
Oh bless her she’s just so cute and her sass is hilarious 😂😂 xx
Bonnie seems to be a right cute little Imp.
Little Bonnie is letting everybody know she is there and she’s gonna come in second place you go little girl she’s a big talker
She’s really come on since you got her! Such a pretty little mare. X
