  • This flight is available on FlightSimulator.com to follow. This will be in the Boeing 747-8 with the update from Working Title. I have really enjoyed learning how to fly this aircraft now it has been updated and I think you will as well! I missed a few steps, the main one is turning on your hydraulics and I am shocked that I did not have a CAS warning about but caught it when shutting down
    Here is the link to the tutorial provided from Working Title.

    Pretty sure variable winds are added as 360 so that's correct. The v-speeds are calculated with worst case scenario winds in mind, so the direction doesn't really matter when they are 5 knots. In the case where the winds are actually strong enough to matter, they wouldn't be variable, they would be directional. 99% sure anyway, lol.

    Great video thanks! With perf init page for ‘winds calm’ entry, I believe you don’t type any direction (eg 000), but just the speed. So, entry would be /5

      Thanks I’ll try that. I’m so used to having to copy the format exactly or will tell me invalid entry.

    Nice tutorial. For some reason my auto brake won't arm. When I try switching it to 1,2 or, it just goes back to "Off". It works for RTO before takeoff though. What could be causing this?

    The warning you hear on takeoff is from the inner marker on the runway. Not anything to do with the plane.

    Help! At 33:16 you say you’re setting the trim. But how do I do that? What button do I press or what do I need to do? Sorry I’m new to the 747🥲

    Every time that I fly the 747-8I It is always on VOR 1 it says and I can’t input any flight plan or engage LNAV, I was just wondering if you knew what I could do. Thank You

      If you enter in a flight plan from the world map
      Is it loaded into the cdu? What are the error you get when trying to enter a flight plan? Does it say invalid entry or something like that?
      Try following this tutorial and the document in the description to see if might be a flow issue. Make sure the IRS knobs are turned to nav on the pilot side overhead. They take about 5 minutes to align and then you set up your CDU with alignment and then set your performance and route.

      I make a flight plan in the world map and it doesn’t like show up but I think it’s there in the CDU but like it’s not displayed idk it’s kinda weird I even looked on the landing challenge for the 747 and it was like that too, Thank you so much for you help

    I can't see anything from the PFD or the MFD... I only get speed and height in orange in the PFD and the rest in black and the MFD is the same, only in black... it never loads anything, do you know any solution bro?

    • @sprocketsimulations
      @sprocketsimulations  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Follow the steps at 5:17 and 7:33 You are not aligning your IRS and your CDU so the aircraft does not know where it is located. It takes about 2 minutes or so for the IRS to align and you want it in NAV mode. Then set your POS INIT page like in the video and you will be all set.

      @@sprocketsimulationsyes i did all that but it still didn't work, the battery turned itself off even. In the first step of turning on the battery and power automatically, nothing happened... everything kept turning off and with those 2 steps the plane turned on for you. I deleted the game and I'm installing it again to see if it fixes.

    • @sprocketsimulations
      @sprocketsimulations  Před 11 měsíci

      Let me know how you get on. Once the battery is on you either need to make sure you are connecting to external power or start your apu. If they say that they are available you are not connected or using your apu.
      Happy to help where I can so please reach back out if you are still having issues.

    I am on xbox and I cannot interact neither with the t/d section nor the games does it automatically. Whenever I try to interact it pops up a message that says: key not active

    • @sprocketsimulations
      @sprocketsimulations  Před 11 měsíci

      Can you see your TD on the map? Do you have an arrival or approach loaded with constraints showing up?
      You need to have LNAV enabled, and an altitude on the altitude selector at or lower than your first constraint or it will not descend.
      When you say you can not intersect with the TD are you referring to the entry on the CDU under legs? If so there is no interaction there and you would initiate the descent like in the tutorial or in this video with the steps above.
      The tutorial recommends to make sure you have all the info in the AP 10nm before the top of descent but you can do it at any time once you are in the cruise state of flight.

    • @harrisfafoutis5148
      @harrisfafoutis5148 Před 11 měsíci

      @@sprocketsimulations no I cannot see the t/d on the map only the e/d. Many of the data are inserted by the game concerning the flight plan. When you put the coordinates it does not let interact like in your video. Also, about the winds I how can I see the wind inputs from around the world and not just the ones that are in the us? When it is time to descent i do have lower altitude selected but I have to interact with the cdu in order to start the descent otherwise I will continue cruising.

    • @sprocketsimulations
      @sprocketsimulations  Před 11 měsíci

      Windy.com is a good place to get winds for other places. It is an interactive map and you can choose your altitude on a slider on the right.
      I would suggest trying the flight plan in this tutorial and see if it works. I am thinking that your SID and Approach do not have altitude constraints and there for it doesn’t know when to descend. What is your flight plan and I can try remaking it on PC and see what I can find out.

    As a real 747 pilot a few corrections: the flows are wrong, such a mess you did, then the starting sequence it’s the other way around, first you pull the engine starter and when it’s a 24 % you open the fuel start switch… you forgot your hyd pumps, and you have no indication because are the demands pumps, the EDP was working. In the takeoff several mistakes, messing with heading select, showing the auto throttle switches as the TOGA ones, ( the TOGA are in the front of the thrust lever in lever 2 and 3 , we TO with weather and terrain in map mode, never plan……and so on and so on etc etc etc….. I can provide real reading on how should be operated a 747 if you like, that way you can show the right way to do it !!!!

      Thanks for the reply. I always love hearing from real world pilots on things like this. Obviously a computer chair pilot is not going to get it right but I was following the documentation provided by Microsoft.
      I would love to have a follow along stream with you to correct these errors. Also the aircraft, I believe, has been updated again since this video. Email me when a good time will be good for you as this is one of the most iconic aircraft to me. Cheers!!!

      No reason to call his effort a mess. Constructive comments to help enthusiast sim pilots are always welcome. Why not make a tutorial to help us along?

      While your technical skills and knowledge may be great, your people skills are a mess. Most of us are not actual airline pilots, but we love the big airliners. We are always looking for more info to try and make things more realistic, just for our own pleasure. We have no illusions about being the real thing. So, why not enlighten us with your knowledge as you suggested. It might help us change our minds about your people skills and give many people much pleasure. We would all be thankful since there is a sad lack of information on these beautiful birds.
