hey dude glad to see someone else I watch here love your videos too
🤣🤣 It's called fish bowl in Europe😜
Thanks ! Yeah I've been around Dan since 246 Subscribers
@@NewLevelAuto I enjoy watching you guys video, Eric O. Pine Hollow, Scanner Danner, New level auto, and now DiagnoseDan you all give me insight. Like two weeks ago Eric O had a Chevy with an E85 problem and wouldn't it know I got Chevy with a MIL checked the codes and there was a code for rich fuel mix did all the standard test came down to me cleaning the intake and the MAF reset the fuel trim and still the fuel trim read rich mix them remembered the Eric O video with the flex fuel truck so I checked the service data said nothing about the car being flex fuel checked the owners manual and found that car was flex fuel compatible checked the alcohol content from the scanner and read 48% and I knew the ower only used 87octain so physically checked the alcohol content and nowhere near 40% let alone 48%. Because I remembered that video fixed that car so if it wasn't for videos like this I'd be stumped on some repairs. thank you all
Someone was a parts changer not a thinker!
You have mastered the English language. You have mastered diagnostics, and now I can also add you have mastered the art of teaching and video editing. I enjoy this one a lot Dan, well done.
That's a great compliment, thanks for that. Merry christmas to you and your family!
Anyone else feel bad for the starter motor after those extended cranking attempts? Great video once again thank you Dan.
Don't be it's fine🤪
Unlike the cold engine Dan the Man is smoking hot.
All the best Dan.
Thanks Tam i'll tell my wife that😊
Now previous shop will replace all temperatures sensors on hard to start symptoms. Lol
Next time the wipers don't work they will change the temperature sensors 🤣🤣
@@Diagnosedan maybe one day soon it will be necessary ...
To me, this is why his videos are so entertaining. He doesn't just throw parts at it, he wants to know exactly why. That poor person who went somewhere & was charged so much for parts & misdiagnose time. I know from experience working @ a shop, that you don't get paid by the hour,. you get paid by the job. This makes you want to rush & throw parts at it. That's why I only work on my own vehicles now and quit that job Another well informed video Dan
Great job. I got a good laugh out of the other shop changing the exterior temperature sensor 😂
Yea me too 🤣🤣
what a logical person you are, with common sense, which does not seem to be common these days, thanks for unscrambling a problem, with a process of elimination. I have a mate, whos a mechanic, the diagnosis said the water pump was not working,, it turned out, it was the sensor which was not working correctly.
I love that you teach the new diagnostics and explain the science behind it too. Oh the days we used a manual choke on cold days.
🤣🤣Long time ago!
That temp sensor reading hot is like a no choke situation on a old carburetor.
For us old people. Nice job, Dan
New Sub'r here. I am thrilled to find your channel!
I'm a retired 30+ year dealer tech (Acura, Ford, Hyundai & Suzuki).
I don't do this for a living anymore, but it's still "in my blood", so I still love learning (& rehashing) this stuff.
I love when you add-in the (short & sweet) theory, & description of operation to your diagnosis & repair. This really is a huge bonus!
My friend, you have something very special here, & I will be sharing this with my dealer tech friends, managers & service writers.
Thanks so much for all you do!
Yes he is very good at explaing things no missing details left to missunderstanding.
Thanks!😊
Not only are your videos Educational & you are a great teacher, they are filmed in extremely high quality. You rock Dan
It is amazing that the other shops wouldn't have noticed the temp showing hot when it was not. Attention to detail is important
Awesome diag and video, Dan! I was laughing at the parts cannon list....it goes on....and on....and on... hahaha xD
The tech at that shop wanted to change even more parts🤣 But his boss brought the car to me🤣🤣
Other shops fine example of throwing parts at what should be common fault checks.
Great video Dan, you might want to forward this video to the other techs. You might think not, but remember.....what could be wrong with a correct procedure to make a better income.
I am a mobile mechanic, on the road repairs.....and hear this expensive story with owners about how techs NOT KNOWING HOW TO DIAGNOSE was an expense to the owner. Effective diagnostics and presentations like you make this industry better.
Thank you for the excellent video and information you provide.
Thank you David!
Dan, you are the man. Another great diagnosis, that others failed to find. I don't understand why people don't bring their vehicles to you in the first place lol.
I would be very busy than 🤣🤣 And there are alot of other great techs out there😊
@@Diagnosedan yes there may be a lot of other great techs out there, but you have a gift. You are an excellent teacher, I doubt anyone else can compare themselves with you. God Bless. I'm learning a lot from you.
Looks like you gained ANOTHER new customer Dan, if a shop didnt fix the issue the 1st time I wouldnt be back there again
Brilliant diagnosis!
A true professional thanks for sharing Dan.
Nice work Dan.
You are a man who does a good job. I wish I could master the English language as well as you, as it is necessary in the field of car mechanic maintenance.. Thank you for what you provide
Great video. Amazing the other garages never spotted this.
Why doesn’t this video have more views!? Wow! Thanks for being great, Dan.
Love your cool and calm approach....stay blessed and continue doing great work...
Dan did it again. Cheers for the great video.
Awesome 👍 job,,, I have been a automotive technician for 25 years and you by far are the best Tech I have seen in years ,,, I tell the same story to my co-workers keep it simple when diagnosing a problem don't make it more complicated than it is in other words KSS ,( keep it simple Student ),,,
Another fine fix big man. Keep them coming.
Diagnose Dan did it again! Great video!
see next time guys . the best channel for all auto mechanic thank dany
Super cool to learning more about diagnosis of cars, thank you Dan
I love your videos. thank U for sharing your knowledge with us!!
Another outstanding video. Thanks, Dan.
Thank you!
Where do we find smart guys like this in our towns? Diagnostics is the hard part many times.
They are there! You just have to find them!😉
A brilliant New Year's present from Dan!
Happy Holidays to everyone at Ditex and their families! Thanks for the great products💪
Your more than a great help.
Your a new revelation in the automotive industry.
Thanks you only came up on my feed yesterday and I'm hooked.
I'm going to ask all my mechanic friends to check you out.
that internal resistor also protects the ECM when the wire shorts to power or ground. Thank you for the video.
Exactly!👍💪
You do your job with great clarity and excellence, Dan, thank you so much !
Thanks Juergen!😊
Excellent video Dan it is very educational and you are a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work.
Great job, Dan !! The most important thing here is there is no fault code, and that happens because the info from the NTC temp sensor is in the normal range of it. The ECU doesn't know whether the engine temp is about 90 degrees or not, but 90 degrees is plausible for it. This issue is what about a lot of technicians get confused and they're not able to give a solve to this kind of problems. Love your channel !!
Well done Dan ,and extremely well explained, and love the new tool.
Have an awesome Christmas
Thanks Abel! Merry christmas to you and your family!
Hey Dan just wanted to gladly take the time to thank you for "taking time out of your life and having the patience" to do this, teach pleople and edit these videos. Great job Dan. Congratulations stay motivated it is greatly appricuated.
I love your videos Dan especially the outtakes at the end and the catch phrase " diagnose Dan . . . Fixed it again "😀
Great video Dan, for the people that don't have a fancy little black box and the gauge is stuck high, just unplug the sensor and observe the gauge/scan tool pid if its still high take a test light and LIGHTLY touch the terminals on the connector and watch gauge/scan tool to drop in temp or volts reading. If its stuck low do the same test, only connect test light to positive batt terminal. This will check and confirm wiring integrity. Merry Christmas
Merry christmas John to you and your family!
Thank you Dan. Good job. I appreciate your videos. Bless you and your family.
Thanks Billy!
SAME SCENARIO HERE with the IAT sensor, for a Nissan Sentra 2007. NO start condition. With my Resistance Substitution Box, it's confirmed fix for a $299 sensor replacement. DD is a very good YTube mentor.
Another great video. Big thank you DD
I do love the happy atmosphere you channel has! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Billie!😊
DiagnoseDan you fixed it again, but you taught me how to diagnose better. Love your work always invaluable knowledge. Thank you
That sense of humor.Love it!😀
Merry Christmas Diagnose Dan!
Thanks Albert merry christmas to you and your family
Dan, great video! Love your videos.
Mate. Forget about highlighting your technical skills and knowledge. This compliment will be on a different level. Seeing that service shops like yours exist, gives me some kind of internal peace and makes me feel like the world is a better place and the future will be alright, because we can fix everything… together! 🫵❤🙏😂
Happy holidays to you Dan, and thanks for the good video, "again".
Merry christmas to you and your family!👍
Dan nailed it again
😉👍

Thank you for that!
Awesome job substituting the correct resistance values, quick & to the point!
Thanks James👍
A very Merry Xmas to you and your family Dan. Thank you for an extremely informative and educational year of videos. I have learnt an awful lot from your videos. The best diagnostic channel on CZcams by miles or even kilometres..🖐️
That's a great comment! Thanks for that! Merry christmas to you and your family!
This is gold. Thank you
Excellent vid. Have a great Christmas this year and happy New Year.
Good job Dan
Ect is the master sensor in every car...
Good job Dan as always...
I'm not sure if this applies now where you are, but a lot of American systems will use a default value, typically -40 deg F, for the temp if the sensor is unplugged or fails open. This would be a quick test with your conditions . I just found your channel and I am impressed with your techniques to find the problem and fix it, not just start throwing parts till you hit the target. We have a lot of so called techs that think they can hook up a scan tool and it will show them how fix a problem. I found out many years ago you have to think the problem through to weed out all the false indicators, a lot of times having to think outside the box. Thanks.
Thanks for watching my video's it's appreciated Bruce!
Good Job Dan
During the 80's, U.S. cars usually had a separate sensor for the gauge, another one that talked to the computer and yet another sensor that controlled the cooling fans. Later on, they were all combined and one sensor talked to the computer and that info was sent to the dash gauge for visual indication. The same info was used to set fuel flow and to also decide when to turn the cooling fans on.
Great diag Dan! Amazing how simple things like this are overlooked. I had a Toyota that had an intermittent stall some years back. Parts were thrown at it left and right by 2 shops. It came to us and the customer warned us that it was very intermittent and random. It took us a while to actually get it to act up, but when it did we caught the coolant temp dropping to -40 and then verified our sensor was at fault. No codes in that vehicle either, which made direction more difficult like yours. At least you had the gauge showing incorrect readings. Great catch & great work on your videos.
great video about using your senses
Great Video! Thanks for sharing.
Great diag Dan,merry Christmas to you and the family
Thanks? Same to you and your family 😊
Everytime I see ur videos and that music comes on I drop everything and start going nuts in the shop.🤣🤣. I know I'm not the only one. Nice fix. Happy holidays

Great video. I always keep a Decade Box and a couple of multimeters ready to work. The value of understanding Ohm's law and interpreting the data you get from a multimeter.

The IAT gives the ECU information to decide what to do at cold or hot.
