- Described by the fragrance house an 'intoxicating, mysterious fragrance...' this scent has an impact quite unlike other perfumes.
It strikes you with opening notes of citrus, herbs and spices, as well as grapefruit and cypress leaves before the floral heart notes carry you to the cedar and sandalwood that form the base.
This fragrance is marketed as a female fragrance, however, I believe it plays beautifully on a man too. In today's video, I talk more about the myth of 'male and female' fragrances, as well as diving into this gorgeous perfume created by Penhaligon's London.

This one is a love for me as well. The first few times I wore it I thought it was too feminine. And ironically I've heard a lot of women say it's too masculine. But now I believe there are elements to it that that are both feminine and masculine so if you pick out the floral notes then yes you might consider it a little feminine, and the Woody notes could be considered masculine. But it treads the line very well and is super unique
Great review. I own a full bottle of Halfeti recently purchased. I had heard about it and went to the store to test it. It blew me away with its very complex mix of florals spices and musks with a twist of oud holding it all together. It lasts forever on clothes which is an advantage👍🏻

Great video. Halfeti is a unisex perfume IMO, and its longevity is incredible on my female skin. I can't praise this perfume enough.

I'm currently waiting on Halfeti Cedre to arrive (blind bought 🤞🏻) the note breakdown seem to be in my will house.
This was love at first sniff. I bought a penhaligans sample kit and this was incredible. I only sprayed it once and it was wonderful in all its phases. I'm an oud and rose girl. This is definitely full bottle worthy for me. Great review. New to your channel

What a brilliant use of perfume, taking a new one holiday to remind yourself later of that time. Love that. Quite ingenious.
It’s actually a real thing. I’ve been doing it for many years and totally love when I put on a fragrance that I have ‘christened’ as my perfume for that trip… The moment I spray, memories come flooding back… it’s the best♥️

Exactly the same reaction from my wife re halfeti. So I tend not to wear it that often. After listening to you about wearing a perfume because it projects who you are. I’m going to use Halfeti more often.
My current scent for fall/winter, along with Cédrat Boisé. Really love Halfeti, such a nice fragrance... I also contemplate to pull the trigger on Musc Ravageur.
Both Cedrat and Halfeti as awesome choice’s! Funny, I’ve never tried using Cedrat as a fall/winter fragrance. I find that this one pops for me beautifully in Summer (mind you, I also love wearing Halfeti in summer too😍. Still yet to explore Musc Ravageur. Have smelt it but not experienced it yet….curious to know your thoughts on when you do pull the trigger on this one😎

Halfeti is a warm weather scent for me
I love wearing halfeti, I always get compliments when I use it. I did let my girlfriend try it and smells completely different on her, and on me it smells very masculine...
I love how one fragrance can smell so different on different people and as you mentioned for me Halfeti even goes the next step and smells unique on a man versus a woman (so cool!)

I’ve had this scent for 4 years. It smells masculine to me and lasts up to 8 hrs. I like it very much.

I want to try this scent. I love patchouli and Penhaligons!!! I was told this scent has patchouli according to Penhaligons. I am curious if you can smell it in the fragrance? I love your review❣
If you love Patchouli, have you tried one called Psychedelic by Jovoy? Paris niche house, and they take their patchouli really seriously. I've only recently discovered this House and this particular fragrance is next level amazing!
Yes, I'm a big fan of Penhaligon's too, they have an exceptional range (something for everyone). My nose isn't that refined, so I'm personally not picking up any patchouli notes in Halfeti (I had a look at the note profile on this fragrance and I'm not seeing patchouli either...so not sure?). And yes, I would recommend you try it on your skin....experience the fragrance first hand.

Ahhh thanks so much for your help! I definitely love Penhaligons. They capture a fragrance different to any other to me. And I will definitely try a sample of Halfeti! I have not heard if the other house with the patchouli scent but I will definitely be checking that out😉

You mentioned that you love the Penhaligon's range, today I had the chance to fully test drive The Inimitable William Penhaligon...totally awesome!! It's a wonderful Vetiver inspired scent, with amazing sillage....in the space of no time I was receiving compliments on how good I smelt. It's designated as a 'male' fragrance, but hey Halfeti is designated as a 'female' fragrance and I love wearing it (you wear what you love).

I was surprised when majority said that this smells masculine. I am a woman and I definitely like this scent. I think I can pull it off during court hearings or board meetings. It smells powerful and whoever wears it, I will have an assumption that he/she have high standards for anything in life.
Totally agree with you Audrey. I find that this fragrance works well on a man; not too floral (it’s the perfect touch). But is beautiful on a woman…in fact, feel that the florals are accentuated more (this is definitely the case when my daughter wears this fragrance)

I'm just gonna get the little gentleman's collection from penhaligon's and give those ones a try. I've never seen penhaligon's in a retailer here in Florida and I don't want to spend $250 on something I might not like or might not prefer over some others.
That's a good call @Jordan. Fragrance is such a personal thing; what works on one person, might not resonate as much on another. Out of interest what's in the Gentleman's Collection? Curious to know what's in the line up.
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector it's a set of set of miniature 5ml fragrances for $58 USD: Quercus, Blenheim Bouquet, Endymion, Halfeti and Juniper Sling. I personally wanted to try one of the Halfetis, but it's cool to get 4 more from the brand. Maybe one of those I didn't even think about getting will become one of my go-tos. They have a ladies collection as well. Good for testing the fragrance, small gifts, or 5 stocking stuffers.

I don't know if you can answer this question or if you'll even see it my body type perfumes do not last on me the ones that do last are cocoa by Chanel, light blue and my favorite which doesn't last on me at all is Miss Dior I love the way it smells but it doesn't last on me is there something I can do to make perfumes last longer or is my chemistry just that way I don't know how else to describe it
Great to hear from you Lise and this is a common question. It could be your body chemistry. I know that my wife experience's this with some fragrance's (but only rarely)
Another possible point is that you could be going 'nose blind' to the perfume (meaning that you're spraying too close to your face/nose that your brain is shutting out that scent profile). Out of interest, when you no longer can smell your perfume, have you asked others around you if they can detect your fragrance? If they can, then, yes you're going nose blind.
If this is the case, then my recommendation is to spray away from your nose and neck line. Retrain your nose. Here is a segment that I did for the ABC (local media channel in Australia) talking about this fb.watch/geSH6_rxQf/

Hello from Bahrain, thank you for this excellent video, really appreciate it. This scent combo (in Arabic traditions) is classified and considered as absolutely masculine. Such scent profile has been available forever in the Arabian Gulf and is linked to male 30+ years old.
Nowadays anyone can wear what they like, but to me this is not a unisex scent by any mean.
Interestingly, I've never considered this as a female fragrance. It is listed on both the male and female section, and I've only smelt it on male friends. I can't imagine it as a female scent! Have you tried Mr Sam by Penhaligons? A smoother tobacco and vanilla base, but with similarities. Perhaps your wife will prefer it with less oud
I feel that House's still need to distinguish if a fragrance is either Masculine or Feminine as this is such a big deal within the 'designer' fragrance's (I have a number of friends who are coming into Niche that still struggle with the unisex concept😂)
But yes, Halfeti is comfortably a fragrance for anyone.
I have tried Mr Sam, I liked it but opted for Naxos instead....felt that it had more punch/presence

Short answer is 100% YES
Cairo is very much a 'rose' fragrance. Whereas Halfeti has a subtle rose that is unique and even to the point of being indiscernible....2 very different perfumes.
I don't own Mr Sam. I would recommend to you Naxos by Xerjoff instead. I feel that Naxos does it better in that 'Tobacco/Woody' space. But please test first. Maybe for you Mr Sam resonates better.

On the Penhaligon's website this is listed on both the male and female sections. Odd but several reviews indicate it's masculine.
I've come across this recently too. When I first purchased this, it was marked as 'Feminine' but as we've discovered, this is an easy fragrance for anyone to enjoy♥️

Fragrance is a feeling. Forget the 'marketing' of male or female perfumes. Go more with 'do I love it'
For me Halfeti is amazing. I love wearing it. I love smelling it on me as I move around and as mentioned in the video, my family and those around me love the fragrance on me too.

Unisex by definition means for a man and woman... And while a lot of people say "wear what you like" I don't know if that is the best advice because I like some very feminine perfumes on women but would never dream of wearing them.
But if it's not obviously masculine or feminine then it should be fine. And even if it is and you want to wear a woman's perfume than do it. You just might get some strange looks.

Good review as always, but I have to disagree about the male/female scent silos. At the end of the day its all about marketing and you can sell more product by saying "anyone" can wear it! I personally like the differences for the sexes which is what makes them all special. Not to sound like a hypocrite as you know I sport a few unisex fragrances myself, choices made based largely on your erudite recommendations.

And yes, it is nice to have a fragrance that was designed with either a man or a woman in mind as this accentuates those notes that are deemed more masculine or feminine….but😬 I’m also a big believer in “let the mood take you”; it’s nice to wear something that fits the moment and to not be constrained
