Carol is an absolute gem. I wrote to her on personal stationery once and instead of writing back she got my phone number off the stationery and called me! I got to talk to her! And she invited me to meet her backstage after a show she did at the Ryman in Nashville. (Had to do with what I wrote about in my letter) It was MAGIC. She is a stellar human being. I'll always be grateful for that incredible act of kindness.

I started collecting autographs when I was a kid. My first was Brooke Sheilds and then Christopher Atkins. (Yes my parents allowed me to see Blue Lagoon!) I also got Carol Burnett, Elizabeth Taylor who didn't send a pic but a letter on her personalized stationary actually answering questions complete with typos. She signed it in purple ink! I also got Barbra Streisand,Valerie Bertinelli,Olivia Newton-John, Bea Arthur, Betty White, Marlo Thomas, Debbie Reynolds among others. Also people from theater that I've met like Carol Channing, Tyne Daly,Chita Rivera, Patti Lupone, Tommy Tune, Sarah Brightman,Lorna Luft and Cathy Rigby.
I met Richard Chamberlain once who said "I don't sign but I'll shake your hand."

Great show, Jordan! Dan Inosanto, "Mr. I" was my husband's 7th grade PE teacher, (everyone's favorite), at Malaga Cove Middle School in Cali . That was a fun blast from the past!
Thats so cool to hear! Dan was also involved in one of my favorite movies Big Trouble in Little China too, but i never really thought id see these again, so i just wrnt big with the bruce lee pics!

I remember doing something similiar to this back in the late 70's and early 80's when I was a girl scout - I somehow got a list of a bunch of addresses and names and got a few signed pics back - I remember how awesome it felt to get those responses in the mail!
LOVED this Jordan! Watching you open the envelopes was like Christmas morning 😊 How cool to get responses. I showed my husband the one with Dan & Bruce Lee. He thought that was pretty darn cool. You got some good ones! I am a fan of Carol Burnett, Alf and Richard Petty, so those are totally cool.
I remember writing fan letters as a kid/teen to different young actors. I would get their address from those back in the day popular teen mags(Teen Beat, Bop). And I always was so excited when I received the autographed pic back. One young actor even included a handwritten letter as well expressing his thanks. Still have all the autographed pics. Great video!!

I sent in a Kevin Harvick die cast car with Country singer Gretchen Wilson on it to Gretchen Wilson herself including her book to have autographed once.I got them both back autographed by her.The book,she wrote to me with autographed by her on the inside.I even have one Kevin Harvick die cast race truck by the late artist Sam Bass,bought it this way

I’m thinking of giving this a go because I’m a huge autograph collector, I just wondered what kind of things do you write in your letters when you send the photos? Awesome video you got some amazing replies
I just usually tell them i hope they are doing well, that i love their work, and usually ask a question.. its usually about a 3/4 page handwritten letter.. even though it sounds like i send a lot, in the grand scheme of people out there, its small, so i always make sure to memtion what made me a fan and i only write to people id really like to hear from.. not just because they reply to everyone.. i pick people from movies i especially liked, or musicians that ill never meet or meet again "lindsey buckingham"

Jordan successes through the mail you also have to consider that some might come back secretarial but it's worth a shot for prices of stamps. Barbara probably signs a ton of Jeannie photos and considering eBay probably chose to sign the Elvis photos. Congrats!

Wow, awesome on your successes. I'm glad i wrote too many of the golden age stars before they passed just this year recently we lost peter marshall bob Newhart and Don murray who i all got responses. I love meeting the stars in person i have been lucky too after concerts several times, tommy james peter noone bill medley etc.. unfortunately, living in the midwest, that's not always possible..

Jordan, I did this for my son for becoming an Eagle Scout. I sent 168 requests with self addressed return envelope. We received 106 responses! Lots of photos and even personal items! It was the highlight of his Eagle collection.

I do the same thing. I've gotten some pretty awesome responses from celebrities. It's very hard to find someone that's passionate of just keeping the items versus them selling them on eBay just because they want to make a quick profit. I recently got an autograph from Al Jardine who co-founded the beach boys. Big fan of the Beach Boys

When I was in my early 20's I wrote to SO many celebrities with autograph requests that my parents had to put a separate mail holder on our front porch for the mail man to set the envelopes on each day. LOL. They'd come in by the dozen each week it seemed! I have so many of them. Unfortunately they're worthless since I always insisted they be personalized to me -- but it's still a fun collection with lots of great photos and autographs.
You can remove personalization with marker easily if you wanted to.. i never do, but lots of people do it
I wrote to Cindy Williams yrs ago for an autograph. I sent her a SASE & on the bottom of the envelope i wrote the date so i would know how long she took to respond. She did respond & it was EXACTLY 8 yrs to the day i sent it out. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮 Feb 5 2000 - Feb 5 2008. 👍👍👍

Jordan do you think you will ever regret getting all your autographs throughout your life addressed directly to you "Jordan". I know you plan to keep them "forever" and don't plan to sell but I know so many people in their retirement years wanting to get rid of everything and downgrade. By the autographs being addressed directly to someone it takes the value down of the the autograph by 50 percent or more.
