Government-sanctioned "opposition" rally
That's where journalists from Radio Svoboda's "Donbass Realii" program tracked down MH17 suspect Igor Girkin:
"A lot has changed for Igor Girkin in the last five years. Girkin returned to Russia in 2014 and has since become a vocal critic of the Kremlin. "Donbas Realii" recorded him at this opposition rally in Moscow.
"What the government is currently proposing is another con game by swindlers who continue to cheat the people and plan on doing so forever."
Girkin: "That is the goal of the so-called reform of the constitution."
But when it comes to the [MH17] Boeing, Girkin does not have a lot to say.
Girkin: "I don't want to speak to you."
Girkin: “Because your Radio [Liberty] is so remarkable...You are not only critics of Putin… You are complete enemies of Russia. And that's really a fact.”
Responding to journalists who are not "enemies of Russia" this "Putin-critic" is careful to keep the secret they share.
“[We], the ‘opolchennya’, did not shoot down the Boeing, and I won't say anything else.”
