A practical and pragmatic video. DeBunking is required from time to time and the presentation style is nice 👌🏽. Appreciate the healthy dose skepticism worked into the info too. Like, “ICE OEMs also claim 20 Kmpl but give 12 Kmpl so EV too give less…”

    • @ChargedUpOfficial
      @ChargedUpOfficial  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi Arun,
Thanks for watching our video and being curious.
Regular or frequent DC Fast Charging (DCFC) may affect the battery health but not as significantly as other factors like driving style, temperature etc may.
It is said to add only about 0.1% to the already deteriorating battery. Although it is recommended that you opt for AC or Slow Charging whenever you can, it will hardly make a noticeable difference.
So, the conclusion is, rest assured that even with always charging on DC Fast Chargers you are NOT hampering your Battery Health significantly.
      ✌️
      Cheers,

What about interest cost on 45% extra paid. Also return on investment on 45% upfront saved in ICE. Upfront payment makes a person drive in nexon while paying for a creta top model. Saving is almost at par. The hassle to charge the ev is on another level.

  • @Sarthak-fd5bo

Wrong costing quoted, 11 lakh ice vehicle will be the top model in this case if you are saying 14-15 lakh is ev price and then the insurance cost is going to be high after which you are taking higher loan which will lead to more interest cost. Charging infrastructure struggle is always going to be there in mind so peace of mind will leave the comment section.

Everything discussed, but no one has discussed how India is going to handle the extra load on the power grids. Tier 2 cities face an hour of power cut every fortnight. Tier 3 cities and rural areas still have regular load shedding. People staying in flats may rarely get an option to use solar chargers, hence have to depend on the grid for power.
How does the govt plan to avoid these issues.

      Hey!
Yes, the cost in this situation comes out to be 70 paise.
We were trying to portray approximate values of different EVs. The costs can range around 1 INR for different models and vehicles. We wanted to consider the higher side of things when comparing it to ICE Vehicles, just to show the huge difference even if the costs for running an EV were taken on the higher side. Maybe we didn't come across well enough to visually represent that. Apologies for the same.
Thanks for watching carefully and pointing out our improvement areas. Positive critique is always valued at Charged Up!

The claimed charge capacity of a nexon ev battery is 2500 charge cycles. If we consider a 300 kms in one charge, it means that the battery should work well for.... well over 750000 kms. On an average drive of about 2000 kms a month or 25000 an year, they should last for good 30 years.

Ev cars main cost is battery , but one point car body + battery + motor but - engine = ev car. Why companies not saying that cost of engine is reduced. Why they are only saying battery and motor cost is added. After 9 or 10 years car will be scrap with no resale value as replacing battery im not sure how much it will cost but not less than 4 lakhs than all savings given by ev slowly slowly will go in one shot. As transportation of petrol or diesel causes pollution same with batteries their transportation will also cause same amount of pollution. Im not criticizing your points but there are my queries hopefully i will get good and strong reply from you

      Hey!
Thank you for watching our video and taking interest in the world of EVs 🚗
Battery replacement should not be a concern for end consumers. This is majorly because companies that are selling EVs are already offering 8+ years of Warranty for the batteries and covered upto a range of 1,50,000 Kms +
Even after 8 years the warranty would be void, but the battery claims to have a life of much more than 10 years.
This is without deteriorating. After it’s entire claimed life, it won’t stop working, it would start deteriorating. This means that after 15 years of driving a car, it would probably not charge to 100% but still would be able to power the car!
They are actively working on locally sourcing battery materials and replacements, so that they can bring that cost down significantly in the next few years even if it has to be replaced.
You can also check out this link from AutoCarIndia : www.autocarindia.com/advice-amp/is-ev-battery-replacement-expensive-425564
Or you can also seek advice from any retail outlets of EV manufacturers 😄

renewal energy is only 20% ye 50 - 60% le gaye.
      Read my analysis here:
Electric vehicle produce same amount of CO2 as CNG or Hybrid car. Because 80% of electricity in India is produced from coal. India total energy requirement is 1400 terrawatt Amount of solar panel required will require land of 70 lakh sq km, India only had 32 lakh sq km. So Your car is always running on coal. Another calculation I did is a household using 250 units of electricity every month will produce 27 tons of CO2 in 10 years and a petrol car running 60000 km will produce 16 tons of Co2 in 10 years. Electric vehicles are only effective where run is more. Like city busses or cabs. TO reduce Co2 emission we must rely on solar.. GOvt is giving subsidy of on grid solar system. EV in every household is not practicle as demand rises more coal wil be burned and the battery cost apply additional financial burden. Instead govt should made solar mandatory for all petrol and diesel car owners. Moreover solar panels recover their ROI in 5 - 8 years while EV are a burden after 8 years of battery usage. And solar save entire 27 tons of CO2 emitted while ev saves only 30 - 40% ie 6 -8 tonns of Co2 in 10 years. MoreOVer India in G20 is going to sell Hydrogen to EU. EU requirement is 3400 terrawatt. That hydrogen will be produced on coal. Govt, SHould rethink its decisions. Only person benefiting from it is adani who controls production and import of coal in this country.

@@nishn111 you didn't added the pollution caused by drilling for getting petrol, refining it, transporting it from middle east to India to Company pumps to local pumps. If you add this point only it would gives you insane amount of CO2 released.
Also, as far as I know, we have 40% of renewable energy then then what you are claiming I.e., 20%. And if one have solar at home for charging car it turns out to be 0 emission for the life of an EV.
Aur India me sirf Adani coal bechta kharidta nahi hai. Bahot sare players hai is field me including govt owned Coal India

Best is on grid solar donot need any maintenance for 25 years, apart from cleaning solar panel and birds poop. There is no other alternative all shipping containers all ships will use heavy oil. we have no alternative for that. and we donot have 40% renewal. @nishn111 Před 9 měsíci +1

I was thinking of installing Solar panels for home and EV charging. It was an off grid system. I am really confused on battery charging rate. Charging rate heats battery. Suppose you have a nexon ev max that needs 50 units for one charge. So you need 50 units of storage at least. I checked loom solar. Its 5kw charger can charge upto 80 Amps 48V battery, ie around 3.8kw. But battery can only sustain charging current of 15-20 amps. 10% of rated ah value. So you need to install 4 banks of 4 battery each in parallel. 16 battery. two systems 32 batteries. YOu can go for VRLA batteries so batteries are maintenance free. 12*200 = 2.4 kw, 32 *2.4 = 76kw. a 10 kw system will charge this system in one day. Thing is these 32 battery will cost you 8lakh rupees, and need replacement after 8-10 years,. With this setup you can run induction ac microwave charge EV. Everything on solar. this solar system will cost you 16- 17 lakhs. There are other Companies like utl but their panel need more space. But the problem is voltage, they use high dc voltage of 500 volts which can hurt somebody at home. With out battery you can get a an ongrid 10 kw system of 5 - 8 lakhs which will give you ROI during its lifetime. and has no maintenance cost. Just clean dust and bird poop with water. More over govt is planning to install smart meters from 2024 that will increase electricity bill by atlest 50%.
