Jury fucks upp everything when it comes to eurovision
What annoyed me about Heroes is the song was just all over the place structurally, the melody just didn't seamlessly fit together and it was not a great composition. This one runs seamlessly from the verse (I woke up at six am) to the pre-chorus (I didn't want to wake you up) to the chorus ( Why didn't you wake me up). It's melodious, structurally perfect, just a great composition which fell on deaf ears.

I revisited Heroes to see if my view has changed. I still see no connection or transition between the verse and chorus. I don't find it particularly melodious either, the range of notes is slight and there is a lot of repetition. The best thing about the song is probably the verse and if it had led into a decent chorous I would have been more understanding of it being a winner.

Estonia was so good. This song is so different and unique. Their performance doesn't need anything else but themselves. No dancers, nothing. Simple but effective. Both are so talented. Estonia is the winner, at least in my heart. All the love and 12 points from Finland.
Stunning then. Still Stunning Now. I work in "UK Eurovision national media" and this is the song I champion. Loved it then... loved it ever since (and it's perfect in the car with roof down and volume at "earsplitting".) It's heard often in my world .. and so many of "my tribe" love it.. despite not being "Eurovision fans"... it's just a "damn fine song". End of.

MichaelChiklisCares Both Latvia and Estonia were great this year. Kinda wierd seeing our small baltic countries in decent places, while Germany and Austria had zero points! :D
Latvia (Aminata) was leagues ahead of everybody else in this contest. The audience could not recalibrate brains in 3 minutes from Europop to the kind of art what she was presenting.
But Estonia was good- really, really, really good. I would put them in the 2nd place. The story was told perfectly. The guy had undeniable charm, even if his singing was not perfect, and the girl.... just wowwww. The tear.....!!!!
You really felt for the characters they portrayed.
One thing ruined the credibility though- no man would be ever be able to walk away from this woman ;-)
