And to be clear for anyone else reading the replies Adventure 02 aired in the year 2000, but in-universe it takes place 3 years after Adventure so it’s 2002.

@@FueledBySandwichesas an unironic digimon fan, i would recommend just going into season 1 and genuinely watching each episode like a kid in 1999. Do keep in mind it is a kids anime and specifically is written for kids but it holds up pretty well even now. There is a reason beyond edginess and cool quasi-pet/quasifriend designs people are still fans of this franchise and i kinda feel like its a little unfair to just laugh at names as the way to represent it.
Strip Poker really sounds like the type of joke dub digimon would have in a panning shot XD
Fun fact, the same character who brings up playing strip poker in this episode in an earlier episode confuses the story of the birds and the bees with an insect related fable and after being corrected spends the rest of the episode asking Ken what the story of the birds and the bees is(while being attacked by his own digimon) so do you think Ken relented or that Davis knows what strip poker is but not what the birds and the bees are(which to be fair feels in character)
Fun fact, Datirimon is not only a random name, it's an english dub name. This digimon's name is actually Pipimon pretty much everywhere else in the world :v
All the potential jokes aside, the name just comes from the japanese onomatopoeia for high pitched noises.
The symbol on Calumon’s forehead isn’t the Digital Hazard. Guilmon has that symbol too. It’s called the Zero Unit. Calumon in the English dub referred to it as his Crystal Matrix.

It actually does have a name, it is called the Zero Unit, a symbol that a few digimon through out the franchise share, between those being the two you mentioned, Culumon and Guilmon. But there's others like Saint Galgomon and even Lucemon. It seems to be heavily inspired on the Keter (Crown) of the Tree of Life, Sephirot.

A majority of the Digimon that have the Zero Unit also have the Digital Hazard. It's also worth noting that Guilmon and BlackGuilmon's Zero Units are inverted. It's basically confirmed to be the "Keter" as it appears on the Keter sphere of the Digimon based on the Sephirot, Sakkakumon.

I really liked the screenshot question! It was actually not too hard because the screenshot with the girl and Centaurmon is from the World Tour Arc which starts right after the Christmas special.

The 02 in Digimon Adventure 02 is actually for 2002 when the series takes place. It's stupid and confusing but that's the reason behind it.

I find it funny you didn't know the season and accidentally made a trick question like that.
Datirimon is technically his actial dogimon partner, but Oikawa spends the majority of his scenes in the season using the artificial digimon Arukenimon and Mummymon. He literally only gets Datirimon when he dies, its fuckin heartwrenching

I remembered A Very Digi Christmas happening way later on in the series, right before the finale, which takes place on Christmas, but I guess I assumed that Oikawa did his only at the finale? Was he just running around with a bunch of kidnapped children for twenty episodes while people didn’t do anything? Because I think that they weren’t rescued until the finale…
He kidnapped the children when the DigiDestined were distracted by the hundreds of Digimon loose in the Real World.
Ah my favorite way to nerd out.
Q1: Grandma got ran over by a Kuwagamon was great. Moosemon and Unimon would have worked well, but a giant beetle monster running over a poor old lady is a great visual.
Q2: nothing really to say here. Everyone and their grandma has stated why the second season is called Adventures 02. I don’t get it either. They then went, Tamers, Frontier, Savers, Xros Wars, Ghost Game and 2020 (the remake, so we distinguish it with the year it came out).
Q3: Ah the infamous “Strip Poker” line. I have no idea what the dubbers were thinking as these kids are like 10-11. Fun Fact: Yolei’s JP name is Miyako. The dubbers thought it would be difficult to pronounce, so the producer, Terri Lee O’Malley wanted to give her a name with Lee in it, hence Yolei. Same vibes as why in YuGiOh, Sky Dragon of Osiris was changed to Slifer the Sky Dragon, but Mr, Slifer didn’t really try and shoehorn it in like O’Malley.
Q4: More fun facts… in JP his name was Pipimon, which comes from Piipii or whistling in Jp. It was made literally as a showing that the main baddie has redeemed himself. It has never been used in any lines and died with his partner.
Q6: I will ask for clarification on which language you are using. You used Gallantmon which is EN, but this time you used Goatmon which is a JP. Still a neat question and I love how confused they all were when the name was so simple. I actually like Oryxmon better, which is the EN name.

Condescending tone aside, Goatmon had indeed been used in EN media for a bit. In Frontier, the suddenly decided to use Oryxmon instead and continued on from there. Iirc Goatmon in EN was used for the Hyper Coliseum card game.
It was even Goatmon for EN in the Digimon Reference Book for a good while. After the above though, the eventually edited it and have officially made Goatmon the JP name and Oryxmon the EN name.
Now, if Goatmon is used in EN media, they will use the name Oryxmon to reference it.
Do you use Digimon Wiki, which uses localised names, or Wikimon, which uses the original names? I definitely thought it was the former at first, because you usually use dub names, but Goatmon really threw me for a loop - I know that as Oryxmon.
We use Wikimon - It listed both Goatmon and Oryxmon as localized dub names so I just picked the first option haha

4) It'd be so funny if it was C, but I'm getting the vibe of B. / That one looks very puntable.
5) Can we first just appreciate how happy the kid in B is that the mecha-centaur with the cannon arms probably just obliterated something in front of her? @@matthewsuchomski2593 it was Oryxmon in the USA dub of Frontier, and I was in high school when that was the new thing. I think it might be a country-specific localization?
@@MGDrzyzga that wasn't it's début, only it's on-screen début. Goatmon first appeared in the card game during the Adventure 02 era (it was actually one of Gatomon's armor evolutions, believe it or not) this was in the USA.

Goatmon had its Japanese name in English products (like the D-Terminal and the card game) for a couple of years before the dub of the fourth season changed it.
I don't know which is considered its official English name currently.
Sorry to be that guy, but Goatmon is the Japanese name; to be consistent with how you usually do things where go with the dub name, the correct answer should've been Oryxmon.

@@Tyrannigon64 the OG trading card game. Goatmon started out as one of the armor-evolutions of Gatomon, so it premiered along with all the other armor-evolutions in that game around the time Adventure 02 came out.

I mean, technically Tai and Agumon were also the protagonists. So in Digimon season 1 and 2 technically everyone was the main protagonist. Its been Confirmed that they're all technically the main characters. Some just get a little more spotlight than others.
