Before buying a Kestrel 5700 with the applied ballistics software I used the applied ballistics app. I found it to be pretty accurate. Kestrels are a bit pricey but if one can afford it I highly suggest picking one up. (And if you do, ALWAYS carry a spare battery. ;-) )
I have Strelok Pro and connect to my Kestrel through the Bluetooth feature to get all the temp, humidity, etc. into the Strelok. Way easier than just using the Kestrel.
I worked my mussel velocity out first with how much powder i use on the sonchem chart. The i used strelock. So i came to 2750ftps. Then, two years after that, i shot thru my friends chrony. 2720fps is my true speed.
I have precisely the same little book with loads in the front and every shot i shot at the back. Have 4 firearms . I stole your idea when i got my first rifle. Lol works great.
Pieter why did you decide to go with applied ballistic version rather that the Hornady 4dof version? I’m leaning towards getting the Kestrel 4dof version after watching Hornady Manufacturing CZcams podcasts. Both Kestrel versions are great.
I suggest the kestrel 5700 with the applied ballistics app/software in it. You can link it to your phone and have access to their bullet library. They cover many bullet manufacturers. Granted, bc will vary by barrel but they've extensively tested so many bullets and their data is very good. Just my personal experience.
Ibi shot counter app is great, but sucks that it will not save data if you loose the app or re-download in the event you replace your phone.. I've lost plenty data after switching phones out..
I've got Strelok Pro and I've loaded my rifle data, muzzle velocity, etc into it as accurately as I can. My problem is that I have no one to spot for me at the range. There is only one in my area where you can shoot further than 200yd but beyond 400 it's difficult to see the impacts even on a splatter target. I also don't have a muzzle break so it's hard if not impossible to spot my own splash. How can I develop accurate DOPE? Also, have you used Revic ? If so how would you compare it to Strelok?

Strelok is under U.S. sanctions because russian soldiers have been reportedly useing strelok in Ukraine.

Strelok Pro is Sanctioned you can't get it in US now. Bummer I had a ton of info I can't access now.
4DOF for me. I like the interface, the database and the functionality. As a ballistics app it can’t be beat, IMO. I used to use Srelok pro

AB has been doing radar drag models for a lot more bullets than Hornady, and for a lot longer.

I’ve found the best way for me is to video my shots through a spotting scope with my phone that is set directly behind me
