This is the most emotional Queen song for me. I read recently that it's an inside out song conceptualized by Brian and Freddie. It starts and ends as an instrumental with a vocal in the middle which is the reverse of the traditional format. I swear the Red Special is crying. Whenever it comes up on my playlist I tend to repeat it at least four times. Great to see you back!
When I hear this song, it always strikes me as sort of Brian and Freddie’s “love song” - Freddie had close relationships with both Roger and John, but this song seems to be one in which Freddie and Brian understand what they really mean to each other and that will soon be coming to and end - with Freddie saying they will spend the rest of their lives together. Brian has said he thinks of Freddie every day, so that part was true. And Brian’s guitar wails at the loss -that is the only way I can describe his playing in this song. I love this song - it is beautiful and yet so sad. One of my favorite songs on Innuendo.
You're comment almost made me cry. Brian poured all of his emotions into the Red Special that he felt for his dying brother Freddie and Freddie singing back to his little brother
My heart opened with understanding when I heard Brian say he uses his guitar to sing, that it is his other voice. He _does_ sing with that guitar. "Bijou" is one of my favorite songs. Thank you for doing this Reaction.
Wiki Bijou" was an idea Mercury and May had of making a song "inside-out", having guitar doing the verses and the vocal doing the break. Mercury put the chords, title and lyrics, and the two of them worked on the guitar parts. Mercury sang the first line and then May transferred the melody to his Red Special
This song always makes me tear up. So emotional, so beautiful and so perfect. I'm going to be emotional this week anyway because I am going to Montreux on Saturday. Thanks David for this great reaction.
Hi David, REALLY ENJOYED YOUR REACTION TO QUEEN'S Bijou. Man where did Queens TALENT END, I TRULY DON'T THINK IT DID. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT REACTION. 😄😊. Paul
Devastatingly beautiful! Pieces like this are proof pudding of what a true genius Brian is, he makes that guitar of his just soar and sob (as apposed to just weep)! His joys and sorrows so beautifully expressed in every note he plays!
Lovely reaction. I love this song and this was the first album I ever bought, so hearing this back in the early 90s as a teenager in my bedroom was mind blowing. As someone said, it really does sound the guitar is singing a lament, and Freddie reflecting on his situation in that short, poetic middle section adds so much drama and sadness to the piece. It feels like an acknowledgement of this being the final album, the end of an era, and for me, it almost felt like Freddie was singing about his illness, and that he was destined to spend the rest of his days with it. I am sure that's not what he meant, but that's how it felt to me as a listener at the time, hearing this song around the time when he passed away. Hope you're well David and good to see you here.
This song always brings a tear to my eye, but at the very same time it is relaxing. I listen to the song over and over again. Brian is a master at the guitar and making those certain sounds. Absolutely unreal!
You should do Resurrection. It’s probably Brian May’s best solo song. It displays his overlooked vocal range and astonishing guitar shredding skills haha. Defo a good one
Bijou is a true hidden gem, a piece of art. It feels to me like a complimenting bookend to White Queen, also written by Brian, so full of bittersweet sentimentality and melancholy.
Ah David it’s lovely to see you back your reactions are always spot on a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song thank you look forward to the next one take care x x
I believe they had the idea of doing a song that was inside out. Brian, with the Red Spesh, does the parts Fred would usually sing, and where Bri does his obligatory solo, Fred sings
This one gets to me to hear Brian guitar wailing omg he was so good on her 💯♾️❣️ an how they all felt knowing Freddie didn't have long !! Rest easy Freddie see ya on the other side one day 💔💖💟🥀👑🦋🦋💕❣️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️🍀🍀🍀🍀
BIJOU 👉 a small dainty ornamental piece of delicate workmanship; something delicate, elegant, or highly prized. 💎💎 I can hear the Red Special weeping while Freddie sings about spending eternity together with his BIJOU .. IMO Freddie’s Bijou is the crowned jewels of Queen (Brian, Roger, & John) 👑🌟💫✨🌟💫
Brian put a wonderful art work into this song. The ginger cat's name is Oscar (on the left shoulder) the other one seems to be Delilah, and on Freddie's head is maybe the tiny Goliath.
Makes Me Tear-Up! Such A beautiful Song - Brian’s Guitar Work Is just out of this world 🌎. So Good To See Uu Back & yet ANOTHER fab Review…..Cheers David, I Hope that you Are Well ❤️ xxx
Not a song I have listened to very often I prefer to rock out as you say 😂 such a beautiful song & a brilliant reaction David ❤️ great suggestion David B x
Hey hey! Always puts a smile on my face seeing a new reaction video🙂 Just realized how long ago I listened to this song... the guitar gives shivers, beautiful 😊 If you don't mind, a small suggestion from me to react to🙂 Roger Taylor - Let's Get Crazy From Roger's first solo album. His range in this track is insane and a little in Elvis style. All the best to you!
Oh, come on David... we don't EVER want Brian to 'calm down'!! Want to hear more Brian, check out "Last Horizon" or "Holy Man" or "Resurrection"... that's how you shred a guitar!! Blessings... EDIT-- P.S. My newest perfect adjective for Freddie's voice is "EARGASM"... thanks again for all you do...
I have heard Brian play this live at the 02 with Paul Rogers, he completely fxxxxd it up, it is very difficult to play and I don't think he could hear what he was playing very well, I have it video recorded somewhere back I think from 2008, the night Al Murray showed up. Performs this in front of a giant blinking eye. Brilliant track.
Definition of bijou 1 : a small dainty usually ornamental piece of delicate workmanship : JEWEL 2 : something delicate, elegant, or highly prized yup. 💕🌞💕
Hello David long time not whached one of your Videos, because of school and someting else, but now im back and im happy, that die do queen reactions to this time
Please react to Resurrection, a solo song from Brian May. It's on the opposite end of the artistic spectrum to this, and I don't think you've ever heard anything like it from Queen before. I think you'll genuinely be shocked by it, love it, and it'll make an epic reaction.
Love these dreamy slow songs that you can get lost in but it's too short. Double it to 7mins and it would be perfect. Great reaction, I'm not sure how Brian achieves that sound either

“Loved your comment” 💎

Bijou: a small jewel.
Always magical when these 2 put their talents together.
Brian's guitar and Freddie's vocals were always magical together.

Wow how beautiful. Brian’s guitar sounds like it’s crying . And Freddie’s love for him is the same in his voice . Wow . Good to see you Back David.
Once again, Brian May melts my heart and touches my soul with his guitar. I appreciate him more every time I hear him.
Me too
This is one of the most beautiful Queen songs.
Hey David✌🏼 Brian and Freddie wrote this gorgeous song. Brian makes it from another world beautiful 🥰
This is a beautiful but sad song , Brian is a guitar genius Great reaction David
When Brian’s father passed away he gave his mother a small Budget bird …
She named it BIJOU 🕊🥲
Brian's guitar work is incredible and it is most poignant with Freddie's singing. It sounded like good bye to all
This song always makes me tear up. So emotional, so beautiful and so perfect. I'm going to be emotional this week anyway because I am going to Montreux on Saturday. Thanks David for this great reaction.
Yep those are Freddie's cats. Each of the portraits are full of personal symbolism!
Bijou is 90% Brian with 10% Freddie. It reminds me a little of New Age music. Brian’s playing is just beautiful.
Such a moving piece of music
Loved this beautiful masterpiece, Brian’s guitar wailing goodbye to Freddie, so good& sad at the same time! Thx David! 💙💙
Brian can make that guitar sound just like human emotions it's really amazing

This song is right before Show Must Go On. Perfect placement. 😊
This song is heartbreakingly beautiful.
Great to see you again David. Not a song I've listened to much but love your reaction. Brian's guitar is so intense

Buddy!!! Great reaction, so glad to see you:)

This has such a Pink Floyd feeling to it.
Good to see you babe
Hope it’s all coming together
Love your reviews xx 😘

If you can react to the song "Coming Soon" written by Roger Taylor.
It's short, but you can analyze some things in this song.
Great reaction!
Bijou a small dainty elegant rare, or highly prized jewel .

Roger Taylor - Let's Get Crazy
From Roger's first solo album. His range in this track is insane and a little in Elvis style.
All the best to you!
Love to see you Dave..😊🌞...This Song is sooo beautiful and Fred is my Bijou..❤️🌹💫

Brian May is my favourite guitar player he is so talented.

I love this piece but would have preferred it as fully instrumental because Brian's guitar here IS the human voice.
Oh how this track makes me weep 😢

Ah, I love this. Also you should do Chinese Torture. More guitar fun. Good to see you! I concur with another commenter, Ride the Wild Wind please! 🙃
Did you do All Dead
Innuendo and you haven't done "ride the wild wind"
Tut tut
Yesyesyes! Please do.
