Illmac is the most slept on legend in battle rap at this point, and battles like this are what prove it. This A. Ward would have destroyed most other people, but Illmac seemed to outclass him at every turn. Why he doesn't get more praise is beyond me.

He never gets brought up in conversations, and he rarely gets mentioned alongside the likes of Mook & Lux despite having more actual accomplishments in battle rap than them. He doesn't even get much credit for the fact that he's the only person who's beaten A. Ward this clearly; most people just bring up this battle when they want to point out that A. Ward isn't unbeatable, rather than to point out that Illmac's performance here could have 30'd damn near anyone.

And as far as accomplishments goes, he's done more actual battling and winning than either of them. He won freestyle championships multiple times, beat Pat Stay in a judged battle for the KOTD title, beat Dizaster during the latter's prime, et cetera.

Just a lot of filler in the form of multis. This long winded style of rhyming multis for no reason to get to a relevant punch after 8 bars is horrible. So much filler that you can't appreciate what's actually direct.
A Ward isn't wack but this was Illmac's show all the way. Different weight classes.

He does more than just out rap ppl. He rebuttals second to none. He’s got pretty good punches/wordplay/metaphors, his performance is on point(knows when to pause, get the crowd involved), uses relevant personals... he’s very well rounded for a battler.

Illmac is a lot like Pat Stay, it’s so hard to come up with angles that hit hard on them. I think Illmac is top 5 all time. Dude’s a beast.
The whole battle is dope, but I now find myself coming back just for Illmac's third round; I honestly think it might be one of the best I've seen.
