It's not related , but a fun point is that vilgefortz's actor last name is Jadu, which is in Farsi , and Hindi literally means magic!
Surprisingly Liam resembles Geralt on the video game more. Lmao
I respect the fact you stay out of the drama , however , this show absolutely sucks now! There was a time i was so excited (season 1) , after season 2 i hoped it would bounce back but shit , Henry knew.
Once Henry left we all left too! That is end of the witcher.
Thank you for covering it. Your videos are always appreciated.
Yennefer: tell me this isn't the last time we'll see each other
Geralt: *turns into Liam Hemsworth*
I can imagine this will be a huge meme, all kinds of "tell me this isn't the last time il see you" "nah of course not" cut to - *insane transformation*
From what I have gathered I don't think yen would consider it an upgrade
To me honest i think Liam looks more like the game version and i think he can pull it off :)
That was some deep cut!!
I was inwardly giggling and cringing watching that scene, as to how ironic and self aware that writing was !!!
I want to say thank you Henry cavill for amazing 3 seasons as geralt of riviea and toss a coin to your witcher
this needs to be the top comment
The first season was meh and 2nd sucked. I didn't watch the third. What are you on about. Henry can't save this shit
*2 seasons the 3rd was complete drivel.
Henry Cavill is a mediocre actor and is elevated by fans not because he's a good fit for the character but because he's a gamer and a fan of the books. Even though before he started the show he admitted he never even read the books and just really liked the games.
Say what you will about the showrunners and the writers and even Cavill but clearly they all weren't a good fit for each other. Henry was just trying to play the girls from the games (and badly) And he wanted the show to be like that. The showrunners, the people in charge, clearly did not.
@@tbowne05 Respectfully disagree.
In season 1, about 20 mages stopped an army and about 10 mages. In season 3, a gathering of the 25+ most powerful mages in the world can't stop elves with bows and arrows. Also, funny how they didn't think that defending their headquarters would be a good idea.
Pretty sure one mage stopped that army lol
That really irked me as well.
All I could think is what's the point of dedicating your whole life to being a mage if you're this weak
@@rickyfunkhouse9606 I thought to myself... if it's a school for magic, surely even a student would think to just open a portal to send the attackers to the beach.
In the books, its alot bigger of a fight where it's 1 faction of like 15 mages let by Philippa, 1 faction of like 5-10 with vilgefortz and Francesca(the elf mage) and a third is the "neutral" mages that is Thisseia and Yennifer and alot more, so the fight is like 15 mages vs 7 mages + a Nilfgardian squad and a bunch of elves.
imo they have skipped so much plot development from the books it feels like they just want to hit some beats in all storys until Ciri can become/get possesed by Falka or something.
Tissaia’s death and Henry’s departure sealed the deal for me this season. I love Yen and Ciri, but it will NEVER be the same.
Episode 3 when they had that weird afternoon soap vibe lecture from Yen to Ciri sealed it for me. Came straight out of the writers' "West Wing" and "Law & Order" catalogues which made it abundantly clear why I was having such a hard time caring about this season.
It was like the old days of low budget TV from the 90s before streaming money took over, and not even good writing for that neither.
Tissaia’s death was in the books, so pretty inevitable.
@@theopinson3851 I know, I’ve read them. Still hurts.
Tissaia’s death might be one of the gleaming light out of this disappointing season. Loved the actress who played the role but it’s bound to happen if you follow the books.
Well that's it ladies & gentlemen, that's the end of The Witcher. Thank You Henry and thank you also Freya, Joey & Anya.
Yeah I feel the same way I did at the ending of got. I'm not consuming any more Witcher on Netflix or anything done in the future from the producers or show runners or spinoffs.
Drama queen lol
@@dustinb1070 easy said and very likely non realistic take.
@@objectivistking it's been a few years since the end of got and I haven't watched a thing from d&d or any of the spinoffs. I have no problem holding a grudge.
@@dustinb1070House of the Dragon is worth a watch. Helped me pallet cleanse the original series.
The chemistry the four main characters have built up over the years is what has made this show. I haven't read the books or played the games, so for me I have mostly enjoyed this. It's been made buy chemistry as it often is. I don't know if Liam could pull this off, we shall see. But for me Henry will always be the Witcher.
Any chemistry was ruined by Yen betraying both Ciri and Geralt in S2.
Book or game Yen would never even have considered it.
Play Witcher 3, its freaking AMAZING !! you already have the background settings from the tv show. Definitely in my top 10
The games and books are great. Definitely try if you have time. I played The Witcher 3 4/5 times. Just finished after the update on ps5.
The Witcher 3 is no doubt a masterclass. Put the show writing to shame
People rush to hate stuff.. Its not the best show but it doesnt suck. I love Henry and Geralt but i think Liam can pull it off, he looks more like the game version of the character. Thats just my opinion.
I love Geralt and Yen, the chemistry won’t be the same without Henry 😩
It won't be the same show.
It could be better!
It could not get worse
@@julianclanton1204 It won't.
I think season 4 will not happen.
Episode 6 felt more like the season finale then the actual finale
Episode 6 was pretty solid!
Confirm 😂
Thank you, Henry Cavill. I started watching The Witcher on Netflix. Fell in love with the shows. I've rewatched all the seasons a couple of times. I'm gonna miss seeing Henry.
The show doesn't without Cavill.
Even with him it's trash
@KingGreen78 how cute .. we do not care what you think . Why are you here stupid
Yea the show is not unless cavill is in it
Thank you Henry for bringing Geralt to life! Sad to see the show end so early on.
With that said, that was the most anticlimactic finale ever 😂😬
PREACH !
Thank you 🙏
Av been waiting for this breakdown
My pleasure!
When the ending came, I was seriously confused, like there should have been another episode. I don't even want to call it a cliffhanger because it was so underwhelming. The only storyline that worked for me as a season ending was Yen's. Geralt's could have worked but I was waiting the whole time for the setting up of the switch, because I thought the producers / writers had said that the actor switch would make sense in the universe? And then Ciri... like we see those rats(?) for 5 minutes and know absolutely nothing about them and it just ends? Like wtf?
I enjoyed the episodes/season overall, but the ending actually pissed me off.
Liam Hemsworth seems an okay actor, but he does not have the charisma of Henry Cavill in my eyes and I don't want to watch The Witcher without Henry Cavill as Geralt.
Liam’s brother would make a better geralt
@@shaycase1834 Luke Hemsworth?
@@MustardSkaven f@cking Thor man. Chris I think. Not sure about that but I think he’d make a better Geralt than Liam. I’ve seen them both in different roles and I think he’s definitely got more range as an actor
@@shaycase1834 An obvious steroid abuser as Geralt?
@@MustardSkaven yea it’s gonna be shite regardless, Henry Cavill will always be Geralt to me.
This season’s storytelling was sub-par and nerve-wrecking. Looking forward to Warhammer.
Subpar! That’s being generous
It's not related , but a fun point is that vilgefortz's actor last name is Jadu, which is in Farsi , and Hindi literally means magic!
It worked for Daario since no one really paid attention to him, and he was a side character at best. Changing the main actor with no explanation is something unprecedented. I guess there would've been no good way to introduce it, so I guess playing it straight might be the best course of action. So sad to see Henry leave the show of his dreams because the showrunners are dipshits though.
Yeah but daario was a small character in GOT. Heck I had to look up who the guy that was playing was 😂 did a double take when I heard dany call him daario.
They did it on Spartacus
@@Gen1Demmi can you read? That was literally his first phrase ffs 💀
@@506Edai dumbass I was agreeing with him 💀
@@pablopj93Oh, but that's because Andy Whitfield had cancer and died. Liam McIntyre wasn't Andy, but I think he did a pretty good job.
They had the perfect transition point for Cavill/Hemsworth. They could just have had Vilgefortz hit Geralt in the face during their duel, then have Geralt's head wrapped in bandages for S03E07 and 08 as he recovers. Throw in some mcguffin about the healing herbs having a polymorphing side effect, and boom, a solid explanation.
Could’ve. Dyou take issue with switching actors and there not being an explanation. I’m just thinking GoT did it and a few other shows and fans weren’t completely lost. Jw
@@matthewkonderla9958 My issue is that they already included a narrative beat that would have 99% explained switching actors.
They just didn't use it.
@@NotQuiteUseful Mm gotcha
It certainly feels like Hemsworth is set up for an uphill battle no matter how good an actor he is. It's unfortunate that Henry has decided to leave given the discourse between him and the writing to staff. It helps that the world lends itself to those transformation like Yennefer in season one.
Thank you for making this video, I couldn’t make past episode 7 and don’t Intend to.
Well done for suffering episode 6&7. I won't watch now because it will impact the viewing figures. Maybe no point watching
Thanks for covering this series. Will not be watching season 4 but will look forward to the reviews 🔥
Imagine if HBO made this series. They probably showed the best adaptation.. like TLOU or Game of Thrones 👌
It seems that many dont understand that Henry left witcher himself because he could not exept the chances they made of the story's compared to the books. He wont return and i have a feeling cause to many fans are bashing it they wont even make season 4 anymore. If they do make it than i fear for the succes of it.
It will be sad to not have Henry Cavill and Geralt going into S4 as the cast has progressively gotten better working together.
s4 ? idk what you're talking about ? The show ends here. Where Henry goes, we go.
One of the things that bothers me is... Emhyr is father of Ciri and was husband of Pavetta and thus already has a legitimate claim to Cintra. Especially since there's no other royal Cintran line left. He doesnt have to marry Ciri at all if it's public knowledge that he married Pavetta.
Yeah it doesn't make sense.
Yeah but everyone thinks he is dead and that Emhyr is a different person. Duny is dead to the general public and only a few, like Geralt, know who Emhyr really is.
Unless they have their own laws on succession in the Witcher universe, if you marry into a royal family you don’t have a claim to the throne, his child Ciri would though because she has royal blood.
i kinda expected a few things to happen at the end. because Geralt was so hurt and even made his own potion, i figured either to be healed he would have to go through a transformation or the potion would change him in some way
Same here, was starting to think it would be doctor who timelord regeneration style
They weren't even clever enough to come up with something like that
This season should have been 16 episodes. The first vol focused on the fall of Arituza, and the second vol focused on Geralt looking for Ciri. All in all, the ending left nothing to be desired. And Geralt did not get the send-off we were told.
Not to mention most people don't need African dryads
Cool! Thank you for sharing this
No problem!
Massively disappointed in Cavill’s send off. Yes, he announced he was leaving after shooting season 3, but to not sort out better editing, story (ending), or a few reshoots was a complete fail by the writers. It *almost* seems like the writers are setting it up to fail (although why would they). Overall, I enjoyed the season, but the season finale was a let down. Also…the pacing is just so bizarre for episodes 7 and 8. Very sad to see Tissaia go… and that Cavill’s exit is getting all of the attention. Hopefully they have footage that will aid in a smooth transition to Hemsworth…but I have my doubts.
My whole thing is... I thought this was supposed to be a show about Witchers taking down weird monsters using various tactics and drugs, with 1 or 2 supporting side plots. When did this turn into wannabe Game of Thrones Meets Wheel of Time??? I kinda lost interest in this show...
Netflix series all seem to have the same issue. Only Stranger Things has 5 seasons.
@@ChineduOparaWell you were mistaken as the books are definitely not about Geralt hunting some sort of monster of the week.
Writers don't generally have authority to call for better editing (that's on Editors and Directors - if they closely oversee the editing and have final say over the edit per their contract) nor to call for reshoots (more of a Producer and/or Director's call). I'm curious why you pin such things on writers.
@@nwfashionmedia The story itself is on the writers. And don’t get worked up…it’s not all on the writers, but I do feel the writers shoulder the bulk of the issues with the failures of this show/season.
We will all miss you, old friend and it will not be the same without you... 😞I keep my fingers crossed for your 40k show, but losing you as Geralt hurts very badly.
Agreed 😢 he's also in a Guy Ritchie movie which looks like fun
If Falka became 'the white frost' that mimics Veronica Lake in 'I married a Witch' that transformed after her burning at the stake into smoke and waited a few hundred years to materialise as a human (as did her dad). Its a shame they deviate from the books when all people want is to see their books come to life...maybe next time!
Man, I felt the same especially the last episode. It went downhill real quick and I was "WTF?!". I hate that it ended like that and what was with the camera movement during Ciri's fight? 😑
@@CorbCorbin It felt like more than money. My first thought was "Man, did the writers leave with Henry Cavill too?!"
Also, the choreography with Nilfgaardian soldiers was noticeably worse imo.
Wild camera movement and short cuts are a way to hide bad fight choreography.
Amazing video 👌
Thanks!
I thought the fight between Vilgafortz and Geralt was how they were going to change his face. He gets a bit disfigured and the dryads help and gives him a new face. But nope they just aren’t going to explain it…
Henry cavil is amazing as the witcher and was disrespected in this last season. The second last episode could have been halved or rather than just spend 50 minutes watching ciri walk around in the desert could have had a fair bit dedicated to ciri struggling and dealt with geralts recovery and little sparing match in the same episode with at the end of the episode him heading off from where he was healed. And with this there will be no more witcher, there will be no 4th season as it has already been delayed, the backlash will be to much for Netflix to warrant making another season and hopefully most of the writers that couldn't be bothered with the source material and couldn't be bothered with writing a decent show won't have a job because of the strikes and will be let go. This could have been as big as G.O.T but for some reason they chose to cater to the minority instead of the majority.
I had writen off this season completly until I saw Little horse and my heart burst.
When Ciri says” I relinquish my powers “ , did she actually loose her powers or was it a metaphorical wish? I need to know because that lucid scene was very vague !…. Also why didn’t. You breakdown that scene , it seems quite important …. Stay blessed 🙏
"Loose" 😄😄
great video
Thanks!
I'm not finished yet. When I turned off the TV, Ciri saw a unicorn in the desert, and I was like: "Uh oh! This girl is seeing a unicorn. She ain't gonna make it." But I didn't finish watching that episode. I should be finished with the entire season tonight.
Thanks Charlie👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
No problem!
Did that: “i relinquish my power” do anything? Or does it means she doesnt want to use her powers anymore?
When Yen asked Geralt if this was the last time she would see his face…….. last scene she had with Henry
Thanks Henry
Jaskill should follow Ciri around to write an epic poem about her control over fire magic and battle against the White Frost. He can call it.....
A Song of Ice and Fire!
well at least Cavill went out in a epic fight scene
His actual ending scene after the fight was a bit anticlimatic.
Henry Cavills' range as an actor is amazing. I'm bummed he's leaving but I'm excited to see him in Warhammer. I'll still enjoy watching The Witcher too to be honest.
Watching the Witcher ? Maybe you mean re-watching? That was the end of the show. Where Henrgy goes, we go.
@@BillyByeahyou mean YOU go. There’s no WE. It’s ok that you are gay for Henry and won’t watch without him but a lot of people will.
@@laszloturcsanyi6353 lol, season 2 had 15% drop in viewership. Season 3 had 60%
Season 4 will have much more. Check the stats mate. I am with the many that step up when people disrespect gamers, you are with the few ones that eat whatever shit is placed on their dish. There is a "we". You are just simply not in it.
I’m going to miss the chemistry between Anya and Henry. 💔
That final bar fight was super intense and brutal, loved it.
I got teary eyes when yneffer was talking to ciri in thanedd ,and told her " I love you my daughter ". Got me right in the feels cuz she now Has what she's been looking for a child.
My heart! I literally cried my eyes out!
The bad writing of their characters didn't earn that line. It felt off to me.
@@DrNoxin exactly, it was last season where Yen was trying to sacrifice Ciri to regain her powers and now she's her daughter? yeah no
You don't strike me like someone who read the books
I enjoyed season 3 where geralt ,yennefer ,and ciri finly got a chance to come together as a family, and shows their later motivation to fight to be together. I especially enjoyed the second part with all the amazing action, fighting ,and high stakes. I'll be watching season 4 however sad to see Henry go.
Well, it was an awsome start for this series. This feels like a GOT moment and I wont be watching the last season. Thank you so much Henry Cavil for bringing Geralt to life for us fans.😊
Thanks for information
Welcome!
My journey ends with Henry.
Looks like I’m gonna watch season 4 on my pirate ship, with all my fellow pirates. Can’t be risking $$ on a show that might implode going forward.
I thought it was funny when the yen asked geralt if this would be the last time she saw him.
I really, really hate that Henry is leaving!!!!
Did Stregobor die? they didnt really address it, he showed up to buy time for Yen to get to Tissia but they never showed his body after.
Nah...he just chillin g...😂😂😂
He is a master of illusions and magic who knows what he did
Totally forgot that the season even started
Any update on Warhammer he just posted the news and that's it
Everyone has stopped working on things during the strikes. So it will be a few years before they get episodes out.
the rats the rats the rats, it was beautifully done that scene, it was as if I was reading the book, that scene was cool. We're gonna see a gangster side of Ciri, such good character development is on the way
10:22 I thought Falka took over Ciri's body.
Toss a coin for our wonderful Witcher and the real one Henry Cavil. At the end of the s3 I completely understood why Henry has left.
I dont think that was Ciri pretending to be Falka... when Ciri was all into the fire power thing, she clearly said "I relinquish my power!". I think Falka used that moment to possess Ciris body and come into the Human sphere to absorb all chaos magic!
I think Ciri might be still herself but u remember when that witch took over her body in the second season and then yen and Ger help her come back to herself I think it might be the same
Was thinking this also. I think falka “possessed” her for lack of a better word.
Yep but season 4 may be about Ciri and how she going to find her way back
Ciri was not Falka. Ciri is a descendant of Falka.
She claimed the alias to protect her identity. Falka was heavy on her mind, a symbol for her stopping to control her urges.
If the show follows the books, it will become very clear what "no longer controlling her urges" looks like.
She's not being posessed. She just doesn't want to go by her real name.
It has been fun, back to the games and the books
Loved Season 3, but I have to agree, episodes 5 and 6 were the high point. Do we know which Studio/Streaming platform Cavill is in business with for the Warhammer stuff?
You missed where falka names drops the book telling Ciri there be a time of contempt
Its clear why Henry left. And his screen time has been highly compromised.
I’m literally watching episode six as we speak haha. I’ll come back once I end the season.
So how was it
Siri vs Alexa 😂 @ 8:45
I wondering if the show runners, executives, Netflix etc don't see the negative feedback or the just don't care and want to waste money because I doubt they'll get the viewership they want going forward😅
They literally called the audience morons that can't understand complex story telling so they had to adjust it and simplify it
Thanks Charlie
No problem!
Loved last three episodes!
they did Henry so so dirty...
They should have added magical reason thevgeralt changes.. When vilga beats him. He could have smashed his face in.. Then had the images reconstruct it.. Simplz
Toss a coin to your Witcher 🥂
Literally no point watching this show without Henry, his scenes were the only enjoyable part and they were already very few.
Regis is my favorite character.
we actually did see ehmyr fight in s01 when he claims the law of surprise
That's very true!! 😊
Damn. For some reason I never connected those two characters. My bad
WE WANT HENRY CAVILL BACK!!!!!!!!!
I figured they would have used getalt all hurt and scared and getting healed as a Segway to the replacement but no.. that would make since
I would go as far as you won't see any more Witcher or other projects as we know them, say without the current actors we know involved. Depending on how long the strikes go. And mind you these 2 strikes are not the only ones, I would think that will happen. There are far more entertainment unions out there.
The difference between geralt and Dario naharis changing characters is that the audience didn’t have much time to become emotionally attached to him before he was switched and he’s a side character. Imagine if GOT switched jon snow or danerys at the end of season 4 to someone else, It would’ve completely ruined the show. I don’t see how Cavill leaving won’t be the final nail in the coffin for the witcher.
Agreed. Switching Danaerys, Jon Snow, or any of the other characters actors. It would have to work because humans are adaptable but yeah, weird. Especially Danaerys
RIP Witcher. It was beautiful while it lasted.
Will you do a video for the Witcher Blood Origin and how it connects to the Witcher now? I saw the prequel it was really good.
I already did that when Blood Origin was first released
@emergencyawesome ok I missed. I'll check your video list. Thanks!!
We saw him fight at the law if surprise no one could take him down...
The fact that they expect us to accept this is just wrong. Henry is Geralt and no one else can do it in my opinion. Not to mention, they look nothing alike…
Oh heck yeah, I've been waiting for this!!
As much as I liked this season the ending was a tad bit disappointing (for me personally) haha 😅
Thanks for the awesome emergency Charlie, have good one 🍻💯
Thanks!
Falka from Season three and the Light from Blood Origins are the same person: Hiftu Quasem
very nice final season of witcher :)
Whole episodes of The Witcher that don't even have The Witcher in it... What a bold strategy, Cotton
"They're not going to be using Geralt that much going forward".....in a series called "The Witcher"....I think I found the problem.
Mother Falka! without Henry Cavill I’m out!
On soaps when a long time actor of series leaves, they just announce before the episode that this actor is replacing previous actor. That’s it.
I wish he drink a potion or the healing for him would change his face explain the recasting also I wonder if we gonna have any updates for warhammer even tho with the strikes
Oh they better have an explanation. This is a MAIN CHARACTER MAIN LEAD.
RIP WITCHER ❤💔
R.I.P The Witcher
Going to be so weird waiting a minimum of 2 years and not seeing Henry as geralt, but unlike a lot of people I won’t kid myself and pretend I won’t be absolutely glued when season 4 arrives
s4 ? idk what you're talking about ? The show ends here. Where Henry goes, we go.
@@BillyByeahno we don't lmao
Its gonna be pretty tough to watch this show without Henry
Just don't. S2 had 15 drop in viewership. S3 had more than 60%. I imagine s4 will have about 75-80% drop IF it even comes out. I am glad the gamers are stepping up against people that disrespect them
I think the teletubbies will swing in on ropes, throwing ninja stars and saving ciri. And noddy and big ears will become new Witchers
