Matt Day just got a Canon Demi EE17, and now Erik just got a Ricoh 500RF. I've got both of those... I think that means I should start my own CZcams channel! 😂
I've been shooting on my EOS 600 for a few years now and love it. It's built like a tank and so nice that I can go out with my film body and my dslr body and have a blast with both. A side note for the 600, some seem to have a battery drain issue where even when switched off, they eat through the battery life. There's a few fix videos on CZcams if you need! Enjoy, having that EOS mount is ace in a film & digital workflow 😊😊
Ooooh the minox it's a nice little camera. I have a minox 35 EL my grandpa gave to me; it's very much like a Olympus XA 2 in shooting style but fits in your pocket a bit better since it doesn't bulge.
The EOS 1000Fn is musical. It has (if I remember correctly) around 5 different tunes that you can set to be played before it takes a picture in self-timer
Hey Erik, You’re good people and you attract good people. All your posts are highlights of my days and this is no different. I was around for those early EOS cameras but I was shooting Minolta at the time. But I was excited about them. The 800’s were lower spec than the 700’s and 600’s, with the second digit doing the same. They were cranking out new models quickly. You will have fun researching them. Yes, you cut your head off a couple times, but it was only a virtual lobotomy! Great, fun content.
As a long time Canon-fanboy I really liked that video. I'm especially a big lover their primes. Therefore I recently bought a Canon EOS 3, to substitute my Leica when I wanna shoot film but also enjoy the convenience autofocus and a DSLR-body, I really love it. In my opinion Canon EOS film cameras are really underrated. They might no look as sexy as a Nikon F3, but when pairing them with a good L-lens you achieve amazing results, since in analog really only the film and the lens matter.
Looking forward to a user review of the Ricoh 500GX. It came out after and in reaction to the market for very compact 35mm cameras started by the Rollei 35 models, but better equiped, having a rangefinder and some exposure automation. Over the years I acquired one or two off ebay, but mine were broken and didn't have the value to warrant repair. Over the years, Ricoh's film cameras were cleverly designed but at best a "gentleman's C" grade on build quality, so finding a good 500GX is a bit of a find indeed.
That minox 35GL is amazing if it works. The glass is super sharp with great contrast. Not many of them left with working electronics. Enjoy it while you can.
Christmas in March! That Minox is a zone focus camera, super sharp lens. You will be shocked at the quality of the image if your in the zone. Looking forward to seeing what you do with all those.
I think the 500n is a Rebel 2000 and the 1000f is the original EOS Rebel in ‘92 as names here in the United States. The EOS 3000 might be the EOS Rebel g and the EOS 600 is the EOS 630 here in the states. You scored on the 600! I have that camera as the 630 and it has high burst mode of 5FPS, love it to death! Oh you have the 630 that’s cool
Canon EOS 600 was the wery FIRST of the EOS line, along with 620 which was more professional, from whatever reason, while 3000 is I guess the newest, a predecessor to modern rebel series. Cheers 🍻
The EOS 600 is the European name for the EOS 630, The 600 (630) was released in spring of 1989. The very first EOS camera was the EOS 650 wich came out in March of 1987. That was quickly followed by the EOS 620 that came out in May of 1987.
LOL is this one of those "mystery box" videos that every other famous CZcams channel has been doing? On the one hand, EWW, I hate cliche trendy vlogs, but on the other hand, YES, I can't imagine a better grab bag than a bunch of old cameras!!
Haha I was just being cute (annoying) because my wife keeps watching her favorite youtube channels doing those "unboxing surprise" videos and I never thought I'd see a similar thing from a photographer. ;-)

You'd be safe referring to it as Minn ox (in English), but in Germany, (from where the camera originates) people say "Meenox".
