- His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa visits Harvard University as part of his American Tour 2015. At the request of the Harvard Divinity School, the Karmapa gave a short talk, "Caring for Life on Earth in the Twenty-first Century". English translation by Lama Yeshe Gyamtso.
I had a similar experience with animal suffering early in life and later the death or killing of animals, which grew in intensity after watching my daughter and my father die at my side. The experience of suffering and dying was so intense, that my empathy towards their dying and suffering grew to the point of being unbearable. I became a vegetarian because of that ability to feel the pain of other beings. I am grateful for this connection to others and it extends to the natural habitat of animals and human beings, our Earth.

"When we talk about having compassion regarding the many disasters in the world, usually we think of horrific epidemics, wars, violence, starvation, and so on. But there is one source of disaster that we often fail to recognize which is a lack of love. A lack of love can cause people to have no help, when they need help and no friend when they need a friend. So in a sense the most dangerous thing in the world is apathy. So I urge you to feel a love that is courageous, not as a burden of responsibility for the care of others, but a joyous realization of your interdependence with every other living being on this planet and the environment itself."
Such profound wisdom. His words are so perfect as to be purest medicine. God bless him.

I am surprised that Harvard missed the chance to ask Ogyen Thinley Dorje ?

But Ogyen Thinley Dorje seems to be plagued with " Namtog ngowo ZhaMar ZhaMed sungpa shin" ? Its very funny .

by the way I need to ask Lama Yeshe Gyamtso and Laura M Roth - lam mchog rin po che'i threng ba should be translated as Garland of the Precious Path Supreme or Garland of the Precious Supreme Path , not as "A Precious Garland of the Supreme Path". It is similar to Ornament of Precious Liberation .If lam mchog is not rinpoche then what is? What do you think - Karmapa Ogyen Thinley Dorje ...Please do a more thorough job for Gampopa , ok. We need to hear from the Karmapa himself , not just from historical records which can be rewritten edited along the lines of vested interest(s) .

But the issue is : "Mipham Gargyi Wangchuk" , the biological son of Thaye Dorje is allegedly the incarnation of ZhaMar ZhaMed Mipham Chokyi Lodro , who is supposed to be an incarnation of " ZhaMar ZhaMed Mipham Chodup Gyatso (1742-1792) .
And Ogyen Thinley Dorje and Thaye Dorje both take ZhaMar ZhaMed as "all knowing" when we have the Gurkha army influenced into ACTUALLY invading-looting Tashi Lhunpo as a result of Mipham Chodup Gyatso's (1742-1792) actions . Any Harvard professors want to dispute the facts ? There are serious issues with regard to the Kamtsang Buddhism . Further to the message that started with 13-11-2020 13:05:59(pm) , I need credible answers from YOU ( Karmapa Ogyen Thinley Dorje) to the following :
1.…………….As per the HACCP system in tulku management , to what extent did nepotism feature as a Critical Control Point in the recognition of the 14th Shamar (nephew of the16th Karmapa) ;
2.….…………As per the HACCP system in tulku management , what was your (16th Karmapa and now the17th Karmapa) Hazard Analysis with respect to the reinstatement of the Shamar line(this 14th Shamar was your nephew , the 16th Karmapa’s nephew) . From the 10th Shamar onwards , the Shamar line continued to be recognized although it was banned and hence “illegal”(the Shamar also lost their Vajra Crown, right?) . Then there is also the Tashi Tsepa Shamar and Namling Shamar issue which is not well known . There is information that the Namling Shamar stopped at the 15th Karmapa(?).
In exile , after the14th Dalai Lama agreed to reinstate the Shamar line , the 14th Shamar later attacked the Dalai Lama for having recognized YOU(Karmapa Ogyen Thinley Dorje) . It is ludicrous indeed !
3.….………..Is the further recognition of the “Shamar tulku” going to unleash further catastrophies and calamities for Karma Kagyu Buddhism?
