    Was the video at 1x speed all the time during cuts? I like to watch real cuts and sound, at least long enough to feel reality. Also suggestion - keep speeds and feeds visible during whole cut.

    This is great! Thank you. What brand of cutters were you using? Also what is the brand of the vise. Keep posting content. Thanks!

    Great video, is it possible for an upgraded 3018 CNC with makita spindle to something similar?

    Can I know what controller you use? Is it Mach3 driven? I am having an issue where my machine is losing steps on the Z axis when doing parallel cuts. Every hardware seems nice and tight. My theory is that when it end a pass in the X direction and go .1 mm in the Y direction to begin a new pass it is not responding fast enough to the Z change and it is missing a step. You can notice the bit going deeper and deeper as it goes further in the Y direction. Should I try feed optimization or turn on the CV controller on Mach3?

    Nice, you shoud get a PC plate for self protection. its no fun if there is a sharp bit flying towards you ^^ or much better, a whole part ;-) Very dangerous.

    0:51. Where / how do you get the aluminum stock block? Do you buy a square bar of 6061 aluminum and use some kind of saw on it to cut it up into blocks? What kind of saw if so? If not, do you order these block from some place pre-cut?
    Help a newbie out please.

      Websites (UK) like Metals4U or Aluminium Warehouse are good places to quickly / easily get material pre-cut to size for a fee. Most suppliers will cut material to size if you ask, but those two websites are nice and easy and you can do it all online.

    Great video mate! Do you know what class of surface roughness is achievable with that kind of 3D surface milling before polishing? Is Ra=3.2 a good guess? :)

    • @empireages241
      @empireages241 Před 2 lety +1

      Ra 0.8 with 3d surfacing is possible, Ra 1.6 easy.

    I'm an engineer, and most of these video show machining (milling)? Why do you have the cutter stuck out as far as you can? The tools should be as short as possible and not like a bore tooth hanging out.
