At this point, I'm all in on Tim whether I like it or not. Our offense can't get any worse, and Hawkeye fans are beyond desperate to get back even to mediocre levels. As much as I like to hear from reporters like Tom that the offense really is different, I'll believe it when I see it.
I bet the o line will look a lot better just because of the offensive sets and movement. Nobody could block well under the old offense. There was never movement to the outside of the tackle boxes. Defenses just did what they wanted last yr. No concern whatsoever about the passing game.
Wisconsin, Nebraska and Northwestern averaged between 21-25 points. All with new head coaches and new OC's. I predict we will be in that 21-25 range as well.
With Tim Lester’s 1st year there will be some growing pains
But still will be less painful than the last 2-3 yrs, IMO!
Stuelke needs two things to go to the next level. A good head fake and 14-ft jump shot. With her quickness, she'll be nearly upstoppable.
I just want a little better
With KF overseeing his buddy Barnett and oline…I’d venture a guess oline doesn’t change much. Only because Barnett is like KF…lazy and complacent with no threat to ever lose job.
Talk about teams that are always overrated in the preseason- Notre Dame and Iowa State.
Is this going to be “air” Hawkeye’s, it better be if what I’m hearing is correct, with the cake walk until Ohio State, maybe 37 will get that game but whose throwing all the touchdowns up to and past that game, keeping in mind there’s not even one tough game until O-st. Is there a proven winner throwing what should be a lot of TD’s this season ?
if the talent is there sure. Look at the up and down years, its the same thing. If we have a above average QB, 2 good TEs and 1 WR who can catch the ball in self defense and one RB who can run the ball without coughing it up all the time behind a solid line...we win. take one of those out , we are screwed. Other teams can say well we just put 5 WRs on the field and our QB cant pass for shit really , he gets lucky a lot because he is only throwing 10 15 yard passes. and he has some wheels..we are not built that way. If Iowa puts 5 WRs on the field 4 of them are D2 wideouts. Last year Hawaii had better WRs than we did.
