Mercy is the love we need the most and deserve the least.
We all want to get what we deserve. We want justice, and God is Just. But there are times when we need something more than justice...there are times when we might deserve justice, but need mercy.

Thank you to Ascension and Fr. Mike for providing these homilies and online Masses. One huge footnote to add to this story is that when Rudolf Höss was young he was discerning whether or not to enter the Seminary. A priest broke the sacred confessional seal and ratted him out to his father. This ghastly betrayal led to Höss's utter disdain for the cloth and so he entered the military and went on to become an infamous Nazi. This loose-lipped priest had been under no pressure to break the seal-now contrast that to Fr. Walter J. Ciszek, a priest who was under enormous pressure to rat out his fellow inmates in the gulag. Divine Mercy is an incredible message-perhaps our last great hope-but we must also remember what happens when priests break their solemn vows. Let us all pray for priests around the world.

That sounds like a heavy burden to bear…I pray one day you realize you are worth the world and that god does not see you the way you see yourself. Anyone trying to convince you that you’re unworthy and wretched needs to take it up with god.

Many North Americans think they are poor yet relative to the rest of the world we are very rich. Our bodies are sleek, we have security, and we do intend share because we view ourselves as the afflicted.... when we are not
"Justice is when we get what we deserve. Mercy is when we don't get what we deserve. Grace is when we get what we don't deserve."
As a young man I heard this tale about Hess and was appalled that God could give Hess mercy. This actually drove me away from the church for many years. I pray thanks for people like Fr Mike that helped open my eyes. God Bless you Fr Mike.

Thank you fr mike now i am preparing to learn the prayer for my mom and anyone else passing. I held my dad as he passed in 2020 and sadly didn’t know this yet. a prayer to open extra devine mercy and what we need the most and deserve the least is very powerful

I received a card from the Marian helpers 3 years ago (Prayer for our enemies). It begins with: God our Father, Your Son commanded us,”love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you”. (Mt 5:44)
When we were finally able to go to confession a young priest told me to find a book from father Chisik called He leadith
me, since I said I don’t want to hate anyone.
I pray each morning the Marian prayer and it keeps me focused on Gods love and Jesus’ yes.
