It's so nice to watch BBC gymnastics instead of NBC. It means we see more than one country compete and even though the commentators want Britain to win. they don't keep going on about British gymnasts when others are competing or bagging out non British gymnasts.
BBC is the absolute best! Sometimes I won't even watch a competition if NBC is the only option...honestly I would rather listen to a different language that I don't understand than listen to NBC commentary lol
The was an amazing championship. Mustafina looked so clean and the Brits could've won this year. If they stay healthy they'll probably medal at the World Championships. There were some great routines but, for me, it was all about Fragapane's floor routine. I wish there were bonus points for creativity. Thanks for posting so quickly. I enjoyed this competition.
Really, do the Brits have a chance. I'm not hating, but they only lead Russia by 1.334, which certainly isn't a lot considering the Russians have an inexperienced team and Mustafina's ankle injury prevented her from contributing as much.
FANTASTIC work on bars, Team GB! Beth really has shaped a legacy there. So proud of them! And it's great to see Romania with some actual choreography--they were so boring in the '90s but they look terrific here.
Andreea Munteanu was the most elegant gymnast in this competition in my opinion. Her floor work has the potential to be great. She reminds me a little of Ana Porgras, but with more difficulty. Diana Bulimar as well. and is it just me, or is Larisa Iordache starting to resemble Chelsie Memmel a bit?
I loved this TF. I just adored Russia and Belgium's leotards, but somebody PLEASE, for the love of God, donate new leotards to the Swiss and German teams. They ALWAYS compete with the exact same leotards we saw like 3 or 4 years ago. I am much impressed by GB (finally some diversity, seeing as I'm getting a bit tired of gymnasts from the big 4 always taking the medals, I still love them tho!) Mustafina was amazing as always, Giulia had a disappointing comp, but hopefully she defends her vault title tomorrow and takes a medal on floor, as her floor is my favorite from this championship, besides Bulimar's and Pauline Schaefer's. Claudia's routine was impressive and original, but not my style at all. Good luck to all of them tomorrow!
I just wish their leotards covered ther butt like the used to. Personally watching a coach a gymnast walking away from the apparatus with the film men behind hind them makes my sin crawl whe all yo see is a wiggling butt
@izzat ibrahim your english is great! I was a gymnastics coach for around 12 years. In order to stick your landings consistently, you have to treat every one in practice like you’re in competition. If you only try to stick them while competing, you will struggle all the time and as a result, you are marked down in your score. Yes, if you’re injured, it’s hard.
That was this year, he died in July. But in 2014 he was head coach to the Dutch men's team. It was heartbreaking that he never lived to see what Matt Whitlock achieved or Amy Tinkler's bronze. ..
I recently got into Gymnastics.. seen the 2008-2020 USA womens gymnastics runs.. Saw the HBO documentary.. and now I'm soo sick.. all I can do is watch the European division.
Why do they keep inviting Beth Tweddle back to provide commentary? It's one of the most painful things to listen to. She's a clumsy talker that relies on simply pointing out the movement names. I've always loved the BBC commentary because I abhor the American style of only praising our country, but by god.. I've never had to mute them as much as I have muted Beth for my own sanity.
Mausolo M The problem is that she is just, well, plain. Part of what paid for her continual training is public speaking obligations to schools and it's the same delivery. She was a great gymnast, but this transition does absolutely nothing for her. Here's to hoping it improves -- until then, me and mute are getting to know each other well.
I quite like her commentary! She's definitely not professional, but that's why I like it. She has a personable sort of attitude to it, which puts an interesting spin on it (mind you, I'm only 30 minutes in to watching it so far...lol)
I like Beth's commentary especially for fans who have a hard time identifying skills. Yeah she talks maybe too much during a single routine but in my opinion her comments are all useful and still somewhat engaging -at least she isn't screaming 'that was disastrous' or 'so and so looks like a child on a playground.'
I have been hearing a lot of commotion regarding how great the British women are doing, which they are but looking closely at the overall scores; Russia was only 1.3-ish points behind an experienced British team while the Russians had an inexperienced and unprepared team(Mustafina was also injured and couldn't contribute as much), which makes me really skeptical if the Brits have a chance to medal at Worlds. Unless, Russia has no Mustafina or Komova it seems unlikely. Anyways, I am loving the improvement in the British system!
This is a British coverage and it is normal that they concentrate more on the British team and analyse their progression. Nobody is trying to undermine the Russian team. Don't take it personal. I think Russia has a great tradition in gymnastics:-)
Well the standings ended up exactly as i expected. Although I was rooting for Russia to make a move to silver I knew it was a very long shot since GB was just so well prepared
SAEZ Virginia it's true. I won't be surprised if more Russian gymnasts end up following Pavlova and Inshina to Azerbaijan. It seems that the gymnasts there are having more success and less injuries.
Moka Akashiya Agreed and the fact that Russians are not too popular right now. Komova is always injured or sick, Mustafina looks tired and the Romanians are looking stronger right now. Larrisa Iordache is looking very, very, good at the moment. Team GB are deep with talent now and there are talented Russians in the Juniors too but Rodionenko's are not good for morale.
Emmy Johnson we all know the Rodionenkos are shit coaches, but aside from that, I just read several gymnastics blogs, two of them being the couch gymnast and RRG. The Russians have been training hard too, and Mustafina is now in full health. She released a video on her instagram training vault. Yes, Romania looks pretty strong right now as well. Great Britain, without a doubt, has a lot of talent and depth, but they are still not strong enough to defeat the US, Romania, and a strong team of Chinese and Russians. Australia and Canada are looking tough too, so let's not forget them.
when the commentator said that fragapane's full twisting double layout was the hardest tumbling pass you'd see in the competition, what about iordache's double double?
Connor Martin Ik I understand that the point was that a British commentator made a British gymnast sound better than everyone else (plus I'm british but i hate the BBC)
i never thought romania will be on top again. that is nice to see. but the usa was not here, and the us has douglus(olympic and world champion), biles(2013 world champion, maroney(the greatest female vault specialist of all time) and Ross(the silver medalist at the 2013 worlds). so usa is the heavy favorite to clean up this year's world championship. i predict usa will win by at least 2 points.
LOL, did the presenters really believe that Britain could win the EC? It was cute, but Romania never makes errors in the finals. If you can't outdo our girls on the mattress, you better give up and go home.
Aren't you kinda rude there my dear fellow Romanian ?! The fact that Britain did so well is no miracle, and their program will continue to improve, so the standings might look differently in a few years, and not just at Euros. Anyway, lots of love to our girls, and congratulations to Russia, always my 2nd favorite team, but these Europeans were all about GB, they were the revelation. PS: what's up with the empty arena...
Florin VANCEA Porgras was on that team. Also, didn't say anything was bad about being third but they didn't exactly win that competition and GB did beat them at that time. Re-read post I was responding to.
Aliya, as has been her constant state of late, is beat up and worn out. She had some sort of foot or leg injury here that kept her from doing floor, and was going to keep her from doing vault, but Russia was so badly scraping bottom there they threw her in the TF lineup anyway. Vika made a comeback at Russian Championships, she was beautiful on bars and had a lovely exhibition beam, but couldn't put it together when the pressure was on, so we'll see how her mental state is. She was originally slated for the Euros team but had some sort of injury that kept her off the team.
She made a statement after Euros that her goal is to put together a bars set that will contend for Worlds, so we might see new connections or skills, and she was training an F tumbling pass, but a minor ankle injury prevented her from tumbling. She also had surgery after the Euros and is training for Nanning. Let the season begin!
I just hope so because I feel that the podium might end up with USA, ROMANIA, and CHINA, since the Chinese will do anything and everything to medal especially because the Worlds are in China this year, however, I feel like Mustafina might be pressured to do an Amanar again due to the low depth the Russian's have right now, but we just have to wait and see.
I really wish the Brtish girls in particular would slim down considarably . I was watching gymnastics from the 80s and 90sand some of them are at least 2 stone lighter. The lighter you are the easier it is to perform all apparatus.
+lkfredd it's actually strength to weight ratio not the other way round so if you had any sense you would realise that the lighter you are then the stronger you will be. This has always been the case. Way back in the 80s till now that has never changed.
Western commentators could easily learn how to pronounce competitors' names properly if they would only listen to Russian broadcasts of competitions once in a while. Mustafina's name has the accent on the SECOND syllable, not the third. Kharenkova's name does NOT have two hard K's pronounced in it, and the accent is on the SECOND syllable, not the third. They continuously butcher pronunciation of competitors' names, and your name is the most important thing you own!!! Competitors deserved to be honored with at least that much.
Kae Kae Jones Actually, no, they are not at all hard to pronounce, if you hear them pronounced CORRECTLY. They are much easier to pronounce correctly, then trying to force their pronunciation in "English" especially if you've never heard them used before. The problem westerners have, I discovered, is almost always putting the accent on the wrong syllable in the name and pronouncing the VOWELS incorrectly. I have Russian friends (now Americans) who ran through a whole series of common Russian surnames, long and short, and I was really very surprised that I had no difficulty whatsoever saying them in the correct way. And everyone deserves to have their family names used properly.
lol! I kept thinking mehh Becky Downie doesnt have the best flexibility on her split jumps on beam. ..few seconds later- Beth says oh Becky is known for her greaaat flexibility lmao seriously??? since when? ...and where? haha do y'all see what she's even talking about ?
Omg Elizabeth Tweddle is so adorable as a commentator. Love.
Aliya is so beautiful and talented, even when she's not in top form.
Aliya Mustafina the QUEEN!

Claudia Fragapane is impressive on floor !!!
Claudia Fragapagne's floor routine is aaaaaamazing!
It so bare in the audience !!!
Claudia's floor exercise for GB was wonderful to watch!
My thoughts before competition started:
8.Belgium
7.Germany
6.Switzerland
5.Spain
4.Great Britain
3.Italy
2.Romania
1.Russian Federation
The final results:
8. Switzerland
7. Belgium
6. Spain
5. Italy
4. Germany
3. Russian Federation
2. Great Britain
1. Romania
Fragapane SLAYS on floor!
Iriala's beam was a beauty. and I love me some team GB. always rooting for those girls
10:15 is when the first gymnast performs. Just in case anyone’s wondering haha
Mustafina's Beam Routine was Impressive! Near absolute perfection. Her usual wobbles weren't Present today
She took out the full twisting somersault, maybe because she kept falling off when she did it.
Emmy Johnson Are you talking about the standing arabian? If so, it's been quite a while since she last preformed that skill
011cra I think she took it out after the Olympics, imagine if she had not fallen off the beam in the AA. This routine was fluid and with like wrong.
Emmy Johnson no because she performed it at the 2014 world in Naning China
Mitch, I'll miss your voice and commentaries.
Thank you so much for uploading! :)
Romania you are the best!
Great beam routine from Iordache. For some reason, the extra leg bends on her mount are distracting to me, but her dismount is exquisite.
If I were to imagine NBC commenting Euros, I would crack up. They would hate everyone here because they are not American gymnasts.
They would compare everyone to Simone biles who wasn’t even there.
i love the british team's leos!
thank you so much for uploading this!
This was a really great Euros.
The best won!! Go Romania!
Actually russia is the best (my opinion)
gracias por subir este video , aliya mustafia te amo!!!
Britain will probably win at this year's European Championships.
KHARENKOVA I LOVE YOU
I´m start to love BG team girl, fantastic perfom...well done
Team GB have really upped their game.
Thanks!
Romania was great here and what happened in 2016?!
XD It was very funny the thing about "donating leotards". The artistry of russians highlites even in their leotards always :D
I agree with you. I also thought Romania's leos were pretty. Russia's were gorgeous!
And also Italy, this is the same Leo they wore in London TFs
I just wish their leotards covered ther butt like the used to. Personally watching a coach a gymnast walking away from the apparatus with the film men behind hind them makes my sin crawl whe all yo see is a wiggling butt
Now you have the Germans wearing those hideous leggings leos.
correction on the spanish beam dismount on 53:03
the presenter said it was a 2 and a half twist
it was a double twist
Aliya Mustafina The Best :)
I agree she is the best
love the BBC for it's announcing.
If you want to stick a landing you HAVE TO TRY TO STICK IT EVERY TIME. It doesn’t matter if it’s practice or warming up.
Bulimar looks so grown up!
Odd how quiet it seems in the venue. No spectators?
Bring back Mitch Fenner as commentator!
I think he is busy coaching the men's team who are also doing really well.
actually he passed away bc of cancer
That was this year, he died in July. But in 2014 he was head coach to the Dutch men's team. It was heartbreaking that he never lived to see what Matt Whitlock achieved or Amy Tinkler's bronze. ..
DOWNIE"s beam is amazing!
I recently got into Gymnastics.. seen the 2008-2020 USA womens gymnastics runs.. Saw the HBO documentary.. and now I'm soo sick.. all I can do is watch the European division.
I never understand the qualifying result to your team final starting apparatus.
i love gaelles floor routine
Why do they keep inviting Beth Tweddle back to provide commentary? It's one of the most painful things to listen to. She's a clumsy talker that relies on simply pointing out the movement names. I've always loved the BBC commentary because I abhor the American style of only praising our country, but by god.. I've never had to mute them as much as I have muted Beth for my own sanity.

Never took anything personal though
+mustafina101 the won bronze at worlds...............................
I was talking about the 2014 Worlds where the won no team medal.......
It was so thrilling to see Russia's final team score then Becky Downie's UB routine to secure silver to Team GB!
I really don't think spain get enough credit for there work on bars
Why did Great Britain start on beam when they qualified in first? They should be on vault.
No lo puedo ver en México.
Well the standings ended up exactly as i expected. Although I was rooting for Russia to make a move to silver I knew it was a very long shot since GB was just so well prepared
As long as the Rodionenkos exist, Russia will never move forward. They need to be fired, and bring Alexandrov back.
Moka Akashiya Yes! I think exactly the same!
SAEZ Virginia it's true. I won't be surprised if more Russian gymnasts end up following Pavlova and Inshina to Azerbaijan. It seems that the gymnasts there are having more success and less injuries.

K no... Simone would beat makayla on vault any day
LOL, did the presenters really believe that Britain could win the EC? It was cute, but Romania never makes errors in the finals. If you can't outdo our girls on the mattress, you better give up and go home.

PS: what's up with the empty arena...
Kamadeva01
Yeah - the first thing I noticed was the lack of a cheering crowd!
"Romania never makes errors in the finals" EC team final 2010?
Martyn Souter
Nobody from the Big Romanian Gymnasts were on EC2010. See the names... ;)
And it is not bad to be 3rd. :)
Florin VANCEA
Porgras was on that team. Also, didn't say anything was bad about being third but they didn't exactly win that competition and GB did beat them at that time. Re-read post I was responding to.

Dang Claudia is short, only 4'6"
Barely started watching, I'm so nervous for Russia!
Is illiara keaslin related to auriella keaslin
Beam routine reminds me of Dina Kotchacova...
Romania fighting!!!!! :))))
Who hired freaking Beth tweddle to be a commentator... She literally needs to stop yaking during their routines
That's the job of commentators, they LITERALLY all do it.
Maria be taking Afan's old music. Oh Russia. 1:00:57
42:49 Let's Go Claudia
Everyone complaining about Beth commentating during the routines... that's the job of a commentator 😂
Why has Aliya watered down her bars? Where has Kamova been?
Aliya, as has been her constant state of late, is beat up and worn out. She had some sort of foot or leg injury here that kept her from doing floor, and was going to keep her from doing vault, but Russia was so badly scraping bottom there they threw her in the TF lineup anyway.

I hope Russia improve to the world championship
I just hope so because I feel that the podium might end up with USA, ROMANIA, and CHINA, since the Chinese will do anything and everything to medal especially because the Worlds are in China this year, however, I feel like Mustafina might be pressured to do an Amanar again due to the low depth the Russian's have right now, but we just have to wait and see.
from what I saw. The coaches did. but not the snotty gymnasts. Well Aliya in particular.
Beth please stop talking😭
The retired gymnast announcing--For the love of the sport-PLEASE STOP!!!!
Alyia was the most beautiful gymnast ever and when she retired she has sadly let herself go and i hate her for it
I really wish the Brtish girls in particular would slim down considarably . I was watching gymnastics from the 80s and 90sand some of them are at least 2 stone lighter. The lighter you are the easier it is to perform all apparatus.
its all muscles gymnastics has changed since 80's its weight to strength ratio not weight itself
+lkfredd it's actually strength to weight ratio not the other way round so if you had any sense you would realise that the lighter you are then the stronger you will be. This has always been the case. Way back in the 80s till now that has never changed.
On most of Gaelle's twisting elements, I did see some leg form, but apparantely the commentators didn't?
the europeans' d scores are significantly lower than the americans.
Western commentators could easily learn how to pronounce competitors' names properly if they would only listen to Russian broadcasts of competitions once in a while. +Tacks Sherbo They also pronounce Romanian's names wrong.
eueueutututu1 Yes, they do. It is annoying because unfamiliar names are much easier to say if you learn now to say them correctly!
