  • Ole girl is getting one heck of a make over!!
    We are restoring our ‘94 F150 and doing SO MUCH to this truck…as you can see😂 Lots of new parts and so much more that you’ll have to see the video for ✨
    Partnering with iFixit because we believe your right to repair is very important. So many things get thrown out because users are unable to fix them, with electronics especially, or they just aren’t built to be fixed/maintained. We can do better by reducing e-waste if we could just FIX It. This goes for everything though. This truck is two years older than us😂 By not sending it to a junk yard, and instead fixing it up, we will be able to keep this truck in service for at-least another decade. That’s incredible!
    SO for this entire month of February, we challenge YOU to fix something (or more!) and join #FixitFeb. Each week iFixit will be choosing someone to send one of their tool kits to when you post your fix on Instagram using #FixitFeb !! You don’t have to use their tool kits to enter and IT CAN BE ANYTHING! We desperately need to fix the caulking in our shower and repair some things around the house!

      I also have a single cab, long bed in the same year and color. My dad bought it when I was 7yo and taught me how to drive in it, and gifted it to me when I graduated high school! Thinking of selling my 2012 F350 to restore my old beauty instead! Love your video, good luck!

    I think it's great that you guys are trying to do your own repairs. There are so many younger well and some older people that have no clue how to fix literally anything and are dependant on someone else to do it for them. Also, what a great feeling when you make a repair yourself then stand back and say I did that, not to mention the money that can be saved

    Pull the bed off to get to the tanks , everything will be right in front of you , it's super easy. Don't even try to do it from underneath the truck . I have the same truck 94 but 4x4 .

    I got a 1994 Ford F150 XLT Extended cab 2WD 5.0 302. Mine is dark blue, I call it Monster. It's definitely been a monster. Mine still runs rich, it'd be nice to take the motor out and have it torn down and rebuilt.

      @@Woodbrew That certainly makes it a different #FixitFeb task! :-) You plan to sling the bed off with your tractor? IF not, a simple pulley/rope system in your garage has worked fine over the ages, and it stores it for you out of the way...in the ceiling. Puts your bed to bed, so to speak ;-)

    You are fortunate in that trucks of that era could be repaired & refurbished by owners. Today’s vehicles have throw away parts, costly computers and partially disassembled in order to reach what needs fixing. Hang on to that baby! Wish I still have my 1984 S-10 pickup.

I took the bed off so we could replace both fuel pumps, lol that turned into us sandblasting and repainting frame, new fuel tanks, all new suspension, frame shackles, lines, shocks, rear end service, we have been having a great time workin on it and my son is learning a ton of stuff.

    Hi, you two, I used to fix TV’s for a living, but time goes on and TV technicians now just plug in board, find what is the problem, and fix it by leaving the last board they tried into TV and through the old card out. When I was fixing TV’s I used a multi-meter to identify components on the board and then replace the item that was faulty a thing these “new” technicians cannot do

    Good video, and good luck with the truck. I have a suggestion. When you moved I saw that you seem to have adopted Total Boat, and all those cups on the floor enforces that. I have used it on my counterpart projects, and have found it is a bit different from other finishes. Have you thought about producing a a video on finishing with Total Boat, like their primer sealer and Halcyon, etc.?

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  Před 2 lety +1

      For the past couple years, almost all of our furniture projects are finished with Halcyon! We did a coffee table and used Lust and it's amazing! Our surfboard is also using Total Boat and their penetrating epoxy.

    The truth of the matter is that newer stuff ( the last 15 or 20 years) is complete junk and will not last nearly as long as restoring and or taking care of some of the older products. Doesn't matter whether it's a washing machine or a car or a alarm clock.
    Newer products are disposable junk.
    It is well worth the time to learn how to preserve or restore your older vehicle or just about anything.
