  • This originally had windows 7 on it but the hardrive went bad so decided to try and put windows 10 on it. I had a 1TB hardrive laying around that i never got around to installing in anything so Dug it out and installed it. Just so happened to be the only sata 2.5 inch HDD I had as the rest are IDE. Apparently the HDD was formatted for GPT so had to play that game of converting it to NTFS again.
This time I was able to format it in the machine no problem unlike the shit show I had with the dell optiplex. Once formatted I was able to install windows no problem. Drivers were another story. I thought HPs website listed drivers for windows 10 but it only went up to 7. Googled driver pack and it automatically installed some kind of drivers. Audio works, track pad works. Touch volume controls work. Everything appears to work.
Doubt it installed all the drivers but it appears to work for what I use it for. Windows wouldn't activate automatically and I couldn't get into the store to see what Microsoft would charge for a key. It appears to work without activation just can't get updates or tech support.

you did use the real driverpack. it's real, it works fine for the driver part but it has a bunch of junk and adware programs bundled with it. make sure to delete it

I don't see why not. As long as it has at least 2gb of ram(you can install up to 8gb) 1ghz or faster processor. Finding drivers is the hard part.

@@lexmarks567 not really, they're easy to find. they're all available on HP's website. windows 7 drivers do work on windows 10.
