This was SO cool!!! Thank you for the reaction DJ and THANK YOU ANNIE for the request!
This song was written by Civuca, a famous musician and composer. It's a typical nordeastearn Brazilian Forro. Comment from a dane in Brazil.
The Kiffness is a musical GENIUS! He can take loops of basically anything and create entire musical masterpieces, whether the mewls of a cat, howls of a dog, or cries of a beach soda vendor. I love his work! You should react to more of his stuff!
Love the Kiffness! Definitely should check out his other stuff. He's awesome!
"How many instruments does Kiffness play?" -- Yes.
I absolutely love your reactions! ❤
I'm soooooo happy that you enjoy this one!!! Brazilian Portuguese is beautiful, isn't it? 😉 You really got the meaning of the song: it is about very trivial things, simple people in the street market, chatting, having fun, dancing and making a living selling very traditional and common things... Mari's video went viral on Instagram and now she was able to record a full album because of it! This instrument is called asalato and has African origins. Thank you so much for this reaction, DJ!!! Love it! Love you!!! 🥰
Exactly, and its hard to translate too since traditional Brazilian songs lyrics are mostly very poetic and up to interpretation too
The Kiffness kept many of us sane during lockdown. Clever, talented and a great sense of humour!
His wife sings with him sometimes and has a very pretty voice.
This was such an interesting song! Thank you Annie for this incredible choice! I'm very impressed!
Have I said before how much I love Sassy Editor DJ? If not...I love Sassy Editor DJ. He's funny as hell! LOL This was a great reaction DJ, thank you for sharing something so different too! #DJAntlers
loved this one. Warm, sweet voice. I need clacky clackies!
Kiffness takes videos other people have posted and plays along with them. So it's a collab....after a fashion. :) He also does it with cat videos where he uses the cats' meows as music. He's amazingly talented. And occasionally, others join in on the collabs contributing other instruments, vocals, etc.
By the way, that video is from a year and a half ago. He has over 2 million subs, now. :)
The Kifness' cat videos are hilarious! You should check them out!
É o talento brasileiro
The Kiffness produces some bonkers stuff, clever, but bonkers 😊
Welcome to south african madness. Kiffness is a treasure. Check out his lonely cat mix
You absolutely HAVE to react to The Kiffness's remixes of The Wellerman and the Ukrainian Army folk song, plus any of the cat videos!
❤
❤😊❤😊
Please...you need to see the vídeo : "Canto das três raças whit Clara Nunes" a brazilian singer. I thing you'l like. Thanks
And then there's The Kiffness dueting with cats....
Kiffness makes soooo much cool stuff, its a deep rabithole indeed.
He makes so much different stuff.
Cats, dogs, chicken, ducks and people.
Check him out. ❤❤❤
You need listem to the original version with Clara Nunes.
I love music from South America!! I believe they speak Portuguese in Brazil, although I'm not sure what language she's singing here. I'm not familiar with the instrument Mariana is playing. Does anyone know what that is??
It's called asalato and has African origins. This is not a very common instrument but it's begining to take off because Mariana's videos on Instagram and TikTok... In her channel she has some tutorials on how to play the asalato.
About the song, this rhythm is known as "forró", which sounds like "for all" because that's where the name came from! It's ballroom music of the common people, so to speak. Feira de Mangaio was one of the biggest hits of the Brazilian singer Clara Nunes, the first female Brazilian singer to sell 100,000 copies of a single record, and who died tragically at the age of 40 of anaphylaxis during a plastic surgery. The lyrics change on the second verse though keeping the same theme, but introducing a "sanfoneiro" (an accordion player, typical of forró) who is getting people to dance. On the third verse it goes back to the same lyrics of the first verse at first, but then switches to the second verse lyrics for the end. I'm not a fan of forró, but it's quite an engaging song and really makes me miss Clara Nunes. Oh, let me also complain about the translation. It's not "a bite of roasted lambu", but "a shot with roasted lambu".
Please react to "2020 em uma música", then 2021, 2022 and 2023, by LUCAS INUTILISMO. Amazing!
A question: Why don't you use Google translator to read her name and the song name? You were always saying "the Brazilian language"... well, it's not hard to find that we speak Portuguese.
