He was always underestimated and has caused many huge upsets in grand slams and on the tour.
He was never underestimated, everyone knew how good and dangerous he had always been
He is one of the only 3 players to have defeated every Big 4 player at Grand Slams along with Tsonga and Wawrinka
He spent almost all his career in top 10. 7 consecutive years. How could he be underestimated? He just was not able to beat more than 1 member of big 3 on a Grandslam so he has never won any.
He spent entire his career in top 10. He really was not underestimated. He just couldn't beat more than one member of big three in a tournament.
One of the best forehands ever!
One of my favourite players growing up. In the top 10 for a decade in the toughest era with Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray. Obviously just didn't have the mental strength to win consistently against the best. But the were times he did absolutely shine like when he took fed down in the us open 2012, or when he destroyed Nadal in straight sets at AO in 2015, and who obviously his run in Wimbledon 2010 when he took fed and Djokovic but sadly lost to nadal in The finals. Its a shame he didn't receive much publicity when he retired. Not sure if thats what he wanted but i definitely feel like he should've received something more than just a small announcement. I mean the guy was in the top 10 for a decade straight. Tomas Berdych one of the best in the toughest era to never win a slam!!!
He's also one of fave! Miss him so much!
My all-time favorite tennis player to never have won a major title! Having that once-in-a-lifetime encounter with him and the rest of the Singapore Slammer in the inaugural IPTL season in 2014 will forever be the highlight of my fan boy experience. Missing you inside the court, Tomas Berdych! Thank you for a wonderful career! 🤗🙏🏻💖🇨🇿🎉
In his autobiography (Open) Andre Agassi refers to a young Berdych in the best possible manner. He thought Berdych had the game to break new ground.
I really liked his style of play
Peak Berdych would have been N1 comfortably in this era...
😂😂
You're nuts😂
Of course no.1 in losing matches.
Lol no. But he would win Slams in this era.
@@alburaq3290 yer agreed. was literally the real toughest era no questions asked even today.
Happy birthday to Tomas Berdych
I remember one match against Rafa in Cincy, 2006 I think, 3rd set, the wet north american summer, Rafa is changing his racket cause is about to serve with new balls, Berdych waiting as a receiver, and he started (as a way to strecht his legs, one may guess) to do pistol squats!! After 2 hs of playing a tennis match with Nadal! Thats the moment I tought (and many more I believe) those legs have a strenght maybe new for this sport. The guy had a pair of columns! Just amazing fitness Along with natural and effortless power shots. What a legend was this guy
Federer said he was a player who did not meet his potential. Berdych played with a ton of power and talent. He was one of the early big players with good movement. He almost reached the tippy top but I think that he was lacking in that something which means that players like Monfils, Tsonga, etc. get almost there but they don't get there.
Mentally weak. He has less titles than Rafa has Roland Garros. That’s poor for someone who was in the top 10 for so long.
Tsonga and Berdych have wins over each Big 4 member at Grand Slams. They were a tier above Monfils. Not sure why you are comparing them.
@@rm1507 Monfils had the talent to go further. I think that he was a bit more of an entertainer than a competitor.
@@c3vzn It's all relative. He did well and is living well today as a result.
@@movdqa I mean sure I think Monfils is the real underachiever there, Berdych and Tsonga had a great career considering they peaked in the toughest era.
Sinner plays a similar style, but Berdych had more power and control. Berdych was unlucky to have to compete against the Big 3 during their prime.
Yeah but in the other hand Sinner moves way better than Berdych.
For me Korda is more similar to Berdych
Hurkacz is similar to Berdych too
Happy birthday Tomas
Berdych still has the most beautiful groundstrokes I've ever seen
Shame he came up in one of the hardest eras to break through. I’ve seen him play many many times.
Agree. He was such an accomplished player. I always hoped he would win a few grand slams. But, sadly, it didn’t happen. Another victim of Federer, Rafa and Djokovic era.
@@kilimanjaro3517 and if he was able to beat any of them... then Murray haha another victim of that era indeed
I miss Berdych, Federer, Davydenko, Roddick, Nalbandian, Gonzalez, Ferrer, Ferrero, Robredo, Tsonga, Delpo, Gasquet in their good forms ❤
Happy birthday to H&M’s best ever sponsored athlete
vs nadal australian open in 2012 was awesome
Why calling him "underrated ATP talent" just because he was not in Big 4? The man was huge. I recall great matches between him and Federer. Massive forehand, great footwork. I would rather remember him as "one of the best ATP talents".
He was 4th in ranking at 2015 I guess but I understand you
When Sinner made his break through for the first time several years ago, he reminded me so much of Berdych
E bravo il nostro Berdicchione! 🎾
His forehand was a thing of magic.
He was a very dangerous player on Tour
The blue clay♥️great memories
Daaamn, thank you
Some of best looking technique of all time
He would beat this new gen like, Zverev, Tsitsipas, rudd, sinner, Rune and rublev easily. He was one of my favourite player
I miss him! 💘😢
Sinner is the new Berdych
Berdych is like a mix between Jiri Lehecka & Korda lol
I remember how many problems that blue clay caused for players… Anyways, a great highlight reel! What a spectacular tennis player!!!
I remember his match vs Federer on the blue clay in Madrid. I thought this time there is no way out against this Berdych but somehow Federer turned things around after Berdych beeing the "better" player for almost two sets...
Im surprised no highlights made it on from Goffin vs Berdych in rome
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
2010 à 2012 These were his best years
Now. Sinner is new berdych
Berdych Raonic Wawrinka del potro, all of them would at least have 3 slams each I it wasn't for the big 4
The guy who beat two of the best grass players back-to-back to reach the wimbledon final, then lost to the king of clay
Might want to use spellcheck on that video title 🤣
En cualquier otra época del tenis(incluso ahora) hubiera ganado al menos 1 GS
Those were some really speCATCular shots by Berdych indeed
Murray is catching strays
5th🎉
Very good player but he didn't have good luck to favour him.
Last🎉
GOAT Nole one tournament >>>>> Berdych whole career
Or... you can just let the video stand without bringing people down. Just a concept.
