Years ago back on our ranch, there was a pheasant who showed up one day and made it clear that he was adopting us. From then on he’d arrive every morning and tap on the glass door of my parents room until my mother would get up and let him inside so that he could watch tv. He watched tv every morning. Once that had happened, he’d spend a few hours following us around outside, especially my brother. We had three cats but he made it clear that it would be the worse for them if they tried anything. It was a wonderful & strange relationship for several years until our neighbors shot it. When two of their goats jumped the fence not our property, my father shot them in retaliation. Honestly, rural feuds are nothing to be sneezed at. But, the pheasant was a joy in our lives.
I've never seen a pheasant in person before; they just act so much like chickens!! (Chickens are my favorite animal!) I'd love if a small family of pheasants lived nearby somewhere! They would be so much fun to watch!
@@RoGameReview They're in the same Order; possibly Family (I'd have to look it up again). They're not in the same Genus; but all Wild Junglefowl (including Sri Lankan, Green, Red, and Grey), as well as domestic chickens, are all in the same Genus. (But the species is different; even domesticated chickens are in a different species from Red Junglefowl...)
In certain light they have lilac, purple, red, gold.. its amazing.. they are my world. Id stand in front of a gun for them. I have a pheasant tattooed on my arm. I stop traffic for them and have saved so many. They are so beautiful. People say they deserve to die as they are stupid on the roads but how can an animal or bird stupid road wise !!! if a toddler gets knocked down it’s because it didnt know the danger.. get what i mean 😘
Thank you for being kind… I love pheasants.. that noise is to call any nearby hens as if to say Hey come n have some of this !! i rescued thousands when I was in the UK.. some were injured and I got them better with love and care. One would sit on my sofa. He lived to be 18. They are harmless to the land, other animals and humans yet are bred and shot for sport. Thanks again and please don’t let anyone hurt him.. he will get to trust you with patience and ❤️
I couldn't agree more. I have had several pheasants feed from my hand. It is a shame that they are so territorial. When they get old, the youngsters fight them off, the winner then needs training before they will take food from me. 18 is a very good age, you must have been very kind.
I’ve got one here in the states he was a rescue he’s doing good I just got to build him a larger pen to roam about in. We’ve got too many feral cats to leave him out but he’s thriving and as happy as can be. He will be even happier once I get him a couple females
Pretty with healthy feathers.. means they don’t freak it out and give its nerves a reason to fuss with its self. Yards kept clean we see so the earth isn’t a bad nest or rest spot.

Got several pictures in Kirwin national game refuge in Kansas a beautiful bird a hard to get a goid shot but had fun trying and lots of other critters to
Hi, we used to feed him "mixed corn" chicken feed, as we have chickens as well, However last year a young female pheasant came round and he eventually went away with her, we do see him occasionally in the garden so we know he's still OK.
We only have the month of October to hunt them here. I’ve got a bunch of ring necks roosting in the trees behind my house. They attract owls and coyotes like crazy. I appreciate people that hunt, I don’t but I should.

I hope this doesn't scale up into some kind of small scale war.
Also, my condolences for your loss.
I’m honestly glad your dad shot their goats but sorry about the pheasant. What a great story tho.
And what did shooting the goats solve? 🙄
We should've communicated with eachother. We should always be communicating especially with close people like neighbours...
I feel very sorry for all animals involved; but your human neighbor honestly deserved it!
Pheasants are such beautiful birds! Love them! 😍❤
The 🗿 statue in the back gives me life

That's one happy bird 💕
That's a Pheasant not a bird you moron lol.

Pheasants are pets not food. I agree with you.
That pheasant sounds very excited to eat those grains...
Sounds like Gonzo from the muppet show :P
i feel like if you chase it it will run, and when you run it will chase you
My dog 😂
He's like a barking owl
Sounds like a chicken calling it's mates to come and feed too.
Amazing video. Wish i could do the same with the pheasant in our garden.
Nice looking pheasant and I like the sound they make

Fact: in a scientific term, you have a pet dinosaur. For people who don't know, dinosaurs are still alive because birds are dinosaurs!

Did it really taste like chicken?
A pheasant with no money is called a peasant
The national japan animal is born
Wow! Striking! Do you know the species or sub-specie?
Its a common pheasant (phasanius colchicus)
Ringneck pheasant originally from China.

Hi, it’s mixed grain poultry feed, the same that we use for our chickens.
They love peanuts and sunflower hearts and those suet pellets
How did you get your pheasant to like you
Trust. Call them, no sudden moves, food, love.. gentleness.
Shrek
He can’t fly ???
What do you feed it
Mixed grain, which I think contains corn, wheat, oats and barley.
Thanks

Why? Because your starving and need ro feed your family or for fun? shoot fox they are vermin. Pheasants arent.
