I would rent before you buy a house. I was living there in the early 1970's. Kind of a weird place. Lots of friction between the blacks, Chicano's and the whites. That was on campus, but it spelled over into the town. I can't say I miss the place, but I would like to visit one more time. Maybe go out to Baldy canyon.

I lived in Trinidad from 1979 to 1981 . I went to TSJC. Since then I have lived in Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont. I can honestly say I still feel like I want to go back to Trinidad. There is something very special about this place to me. There are the obvious reasons, the weather, the natural beauty of the area and so on. But for me it's something I can't explain. I really miss this area and hopefully I can come back someday.

Lived there in '67-68 and as a teen couldn't wait to get away from a small town in the middle of nowhere. I wanted bright lights and the big city. Returned in the early '70s to TSJC and felt differently. I was back there last June and liked it a lot more, on a sentimental journey. But it was somewhat sad and depressing with all the weed shops, businesses I knew that were gone. The only one still there and open was the Safeway.

Colorado provides some of the best 19th - 20th Centuries examples of Architectural designs, in settings that allow fuller observation.
Although several Historical Gems have been torn down in Colorado, the development of Historical Preservation Groups has truly made achievements.
There's clearly more in 0laces like NY City, but they arent as easily viewed, nor in a setting that offers the more original perspective.
I applaude Colorado for having a more Mature Minded concept and standards for securing History for the future generations.

A small, but in my opinion, important point, one that many people seem to make, Architects DON’T build buildings, they design them, builders BUILD buildings designed by Architects, Architects don’t even do the structural engineering side of things, funnily enough, that’s done by structural engineers.

Colorado offers an experiencing of the "Higher Minded aka Mature Minded", that occassionally looses its understanding of Higher Mindedness. Example: Non Judgemental of an Individual's choice of achieving truer self, all9wing use of natural products/herbs, (yet forbidding smoking if cigarettes within a city's boundary).
This country orginal economy was built on Tobacco. Regardless of it's negatives, Freed means Choice and Action.
