I could recall bits of a local documentary having LGBT couples going on screen sharing their lives being in the open.
The one thing that hold them back is family support. It is that thin line of either your family is going to disown or embrace you. Only your family will make it easy for you when they accept your sexual preferrence. You will hear people on the street being interviewed saying the have no problem having LGBT friends but they couldn't accept them if they are their family member.
In the modern SG, especially with western influence, we learn to be more accepting. I don't think it is hard when the day comes to explaining why my kid's family has two daddies or mummies. You just need to broaden the horizons.
On a different note, they are some overdressed colourful clowns that scare me. IYKYK.
