I had the pleasure of fixing his truck. What a great down to earth guy.
Tell us more! :) What was he like?
😍OMG! Been in LUV w/him since "The Lifeguard" back in the 70s!
That man should fix his own. Damn.
Kinda truck
Must’ve been a ford
Man, I could listen to Sam Elliott read the phone book.
HAHA best comment yet! that's so true lol
I will watch the movie of Sam reading the Phone book..
Right? Yes! Plus he's pretty darn easy on the eyes.
😁😆😀👍
Lol, you are so right!
"Always do a little more than what's expected of you"
True anywhere. Might not mean anything to many, but to those that notice, it could be everything.
Well said!👍👏
Amen,it's a lost art. And helping others who have a budget for a plate of cookies. God blesses later
About 4 years ago on I-40 east in west Nashville, i look over and there's Sam Elliott driving a silver classic Corvette. Gave the nod. Got the nod back. Awesome day.
My father used to say something that would roughly translate as "Medals aren't awarded to those who do their job but to those who go beyond what is expected of them".
Exactly!
in modern times, you just buy the medals and the MSM tells people you are better than they are.
USA just pardoned Blackwater *TERRORISTS* and are trying to kill the man who exposed the terrorists.
@@donHooligan Not from the US or any english speaking country...My father used the word "medal" as a stand-in for any sort of reward. Why do people have to bring politics into everything? Do you think I'm defending giving medals to war criminals? If not, why bring it up? Jesus Christ. The sheer fact I said "would roughly translate" should hint you at the fact I'm not an english native so what's your point? Things are unfair in the US? ok, great, doesn't mean what my father or Sam Elliot said is wrong. If you go above what's expected of you you'll usually get rewarded.
Well, my subwoofer was able to handle the first minute of that clip, but after that it just started on fire.
There’s no bull with this guy. And that’s why he’s so admired, I think.
Saw an interview where Sam stated that he could never be a politician, coz he would probably start every debate with "Now listen here, Mutha Fu#kers!"😁😂🤣
There's no bull with me, either, but I'm not a well known actor. What is put on camera dictates what most people admire.
@@damienholland8103 Wellll,.. I feel most of us are savvy enough to know when an actor is 'acting' and when he's being his authentic self. Just sayin'........
@@damienholland8103 What's on film does not dictate what I admire in a person, in fact, movies and their actors don't come to mind at all. Thankfully I'm blessed to know people personally who inspire me, people who's veritas humbles me. That said, if you knew Sam, you'd know he walks his own talk. He's a gentleman and he shoots straight.
He should be admired
Sam Elliot's voice destroys Hurricanes.
Sam Elliot's voice could kick Chuck Norris's ass
Enough rumble to be Smokey the Bear -- without even tryin'!
Sam Elliott - The man, the legend.
What a voice
I clicked on this just to listen to him speak
"Always do more than what's expected of you." Yup....THAT is something that has pushed my career and relationships with people farther than any talent I've got :)
The voice just gives me goosebumps. Astonishing
His voice is beautiful. Please do Audio books. Handsome Man
Longmire books would be good.
When I hear him say "contract" I just think "The Contract of San Venganza"
I will be 60 soon. I can only hope to be half the man Sam Elliot is when I grow up.
I just turned 60 last month, and I *am* half the man Sam is. Which is still pretty good, I think
I so fell in love with Sam Elliot when I saw Roadhouse for the first time in the 90's. He is just beautiful in that film xx oo
Yep and the line, I'm working a a place that has a sign above the urinal "Don't eat the big white mint"
@@brucepulver8358 LOL!!! I never really watched Roadhouse all the way thru. Just seen bits and snippets from it. Now That's a funnnny-azz line!!😁
My first 'Whoa!' moment with Sam, was years and years ago, when I happened to tune in to the movie "The Quick And The Dead!"😉😎.....(and hey, I'm not even a Western movie fan!)
"This is Sam Elliott, today you're going to listen to the Dictionary... Aardvark.." aaaaand there goes a few weeks of my life well spent.
First saw Mr. Elliot in Tombstone with Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer. Great movie and if you haven't seen it then check it out
Off-topic, but Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in that movie is one of my favorite on-screen acting performances of all time.
@@DeeEllEff I like them all. But my favorites are Vergil , Doc , and Wyatt
That's extremely good advice, Sam. A good work ethic served me very well all the way up through retirement.
Great quote, great interview. Sam Elliott is the man.
Loved his character in the first Ghost Rider
I love this advice~ My mom gave me this as well, and I try to practice it!
Great actor! Thank you for all your great movies. Even enjoy watching your commercials. Will always be a fan.
I love his voice! He seems like a really great guy.
Man , what a message !! live by that.
I just adore him ❤
His voice is legendary
One time, someone told me to slow down because I was making him look bad. I told him that I wasn't the one making him look that way.
Incredible voice - incredible hair - always great to watch!
The man the word "Hombre" was invented to describe.
My phone is vibrating heavily when he talks.....but hey that's okey😅
a fantastic brilliant actor. an incredibly great voice. great respect ...
I take comfort in that.
Wow, thats amazing. Always do more thats whats expected of you.
I just noticed how amazing my parents because they always do more at their job (and everything else) that what they are suppossed to do.
Sam Elliott 100% hollywood icon
very interesting quote. may I always remember that
Humble & a kind soul!
Man o man ..... Sam Elliot is the coolest!
He's a bigger chair slacker then I am.
Good example of why it is important to have responsible parents
I like your definition of off-camera :)
he said the quote from the video title exactly how I imagined it would sound
Why are there so many clips and not the full interview
"..with no moustaches... IT was a fun time" Living life on the edge with a bare face, what man doesnt remember those days of yore.
"Always do a little more than what's expected of you." And I may add make sure someone influential is watching.
A Legend ❤❤❤ So Humble
Mr. Elliott is by far the toughest guy ever.
That was what I thought when in "Fatal Beauty" he kissed Whoopi Goldberg on the lips . That's got to take a strong stomach ! woof
That’s funny, because when I see Sam, I’m always reminded of the first movie I saw him in, named “Lifeguard.” And my first thought about his performance in that was: for a guy who was probably hired because of his good looks, he’s doing more here than is expected/required.
i want him to narrate my life
I can 100% see him and Tom Selleck being bffs
Just saw the movie, "The Hero." WOW. I could get LOST in that chest hair.
Love me some Sam Elliott
The interviewer should not interrupt a good story !
Is this the guy from The Big Lebowski?
John Wick you're a pretty cool guy.
Yes. He played The Stranger. He narrates the beginning of the film.
Basil White - "It's good knowing he's out there, the Dude, taking it easy for all us sinners."
Body language says he doesn't like the guy......
3manfan they are both more colorful in person
Always do more to get the job or get a promotion.. 90% of people just do enough at work not to get fired you should be the other 10% that wants to get higher then all the rest and most likely you will ..
Exactly. It's not that successful people always have an advantage. It's just that they put in a little extra effort.
Can’t explain that perfect voice , plus he’s a great guy everyone that knows him will tell you .
What about Barry White’s voice? Which one of deeper
*"Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well... he eats you" =)*
I agree with that
That voice 🥰
Good one.
Sam Elliot what a gorgeous guy and that voice..!!!❤
Best voice I've ever heard. 👌
I use this notion every day at work, and I’m just a cleaner. Go over the top and impress your employer. It goes a long way. I went from room attendant to executive housekeeper in 6 years through nothing but hard work.
Not only is Sam cool, but his script story proves he's also uber smart as well.
Ive heard if he tries to shave it mustache off it will instantly grow back.
My niece Krysten Ritter did movie with him ,The Hero. Sam so down to earth 🌎
I ❤️ him
Agreed
his voice!
That voice though 👌
Those were fun times😈
Ill bet he drinks his coffee ☕ black
I wonder if he likes his coffee hot and strong like his women well maybe hot I don't know about strong. But it is better than being cold and bitter.
The man is a cinematic legend!
I always give a little more than I take ,,, feels good
Saw him in Yellowstone National Park. We made eye contact. He knew I knew, nodded at me and walked on.
Good advice
Sam had a small part in A Star is Born, but boy did he stand out.
My headphones aren't capable of the low-ends needed for sustained Sam Elliot.
Legend of a man
Sam Elliott can make a fortune doing ASMR recordings. This guy is the real deal.
Amen.
A role model all men should aspire to.
The older he gets the better he gets! He's just gorgeous! 🥰😍🤩
That's the kind of voice I want to give my eulogy
I don't know him at all personally. But if he isn't a real Man's Man...he sure knows how to act like one.
Does anyone remember Gabe and Walker the Falstaff Beer advertising campaign?
Except for a couple of early movies in the 70s, he's been playing the same guy for 40 years.
I could listen to Sam elliott read the Declaration of Independence
“ I like your style , Dude “
Sam Elliot is so cool man 😎😎😎😎
Please Sam! Sign a contract with Audible!
These guys are on character all the time...
Gar from Mask, cool dude.
what a he- ro... manly too! personification of masculinity... words can't do justice for this living legend....
Merica Fuck Yea
I agree completely with Sam..these folks today are just the opposite!!
everytime i hear his voice, mine goes an octave lower and raspier
Sam elliot I bet he's a good dad
So hard to understand what he says when you're not a native english speaker.... But damn, that voice !
