Personally, i would subscribe to the latter viewpoint: I wouldn't describe myself as masculine, and yet i would say that i am confident in my masculinity. I get validation and solidarity from the fact that i feel like myself, and that i feel like i am good at certain things, which makes me feel valuable, and worthy of love. Even though i don't feel like those things are true, that is the basis of my self-confidence - confidence that most guys seem to heavily draw from this idea of masculinity.
It's a fallacy, in my opinion. I get confidence from knowing that from a young age, i have been relatively athletic. I am somewhat musical. I know my way around video games. None of these things are inherently masculine. Guys need to stop tying their entire social foundation to the idea of masculinity.
I often find myself feeling the impulse of wanting to pick up heavy stuff, just to see if i can. Some would describe this as masculine, and it sure does make you feel masculine, accomplishing this, but doesn't women as well? Men don't have a monopoly on masculinity, and it certainly should not be the basis of your idea of self worth.
Idk... but it feels like pre-school out there. I'm wondering if people just literally don't "have time" for self-reflection, because they're always doing something. I'm not a technophobe or anything like that, but you gotta stop and wonder; what does it really do to you, constantly being on social media or watching youtube or whatever, every waking moment that you're not "busy". How do you mentally mature, when you don't take the time to reflect on life experiences?

I was more referring to how 'cute' is used to describe things in a demeaning way from a female. They know a lot of men will react a certain way to that phrase and use it as a way of trying to make them feel like less of a man. Context is key, and I think it depends on how the word is used.

Im 19yr and 163cm/5.34 foot, and i get called cute a lot, but honestly, i enjoy it. It's nice being seen as cute. People are more comfortable with you because you're non-threatening. It has honestly not limited me in my relationships. It actually kinda helped me.
Edit: ayo, im 20 now, still as tiny tho. Also i recently started uploading pictures of myself because i wanted to know what more people thought. The feedback was a bit overwhelming. People seem to really like how i look. It feels really weird but nice. Maybe i should dress cute too. Ima try that out
Edit 2: so i started streaming and my community is growing pretty damn fast. And havent gotten any real hate yet. I have gotten really comfortable with being called femboy and with having so many people compliment me. I actually feel more happy with my life then i have ever felt.
