@@user-ek4ep4cj7i In fact, here are all my honorable mentions for who should've been on the list.
      John Petrucci: (Dream Theater)
He's not the most important member of Dream Theater, (The entire band is important to their sound) but his guitar work has helped make the band what it is in the world of progressive metal.
      Steve Vai
This guy's guitar work is a masterclass, plain and simple.
      Joe Santriani
Same; This guy doesn't need to sing at all; his incredible melodic guitar skills do all the singing, and that should be enough for anyone.
K.K Downing, Ritchie Faulkner and Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest)
While Downing is no longer in the band, having left in the 2010's, He and Tipton practically wrote the book on how to write and perform awesome dual guitar solos, not to mention the equally awesome book on guitar solo trade offs, which they kept on doing effortlessly after Faulkner replaced Downing. And while Tipton can no longer tour with them, due to the early stages of Parkinson's disease, he still records for their new material and has never lost a single step in his playing style. (Their current producer, Andy Sneap, tours with the band in Tipton's place)
      Andre Olbrich (Blind Guardian)
This guy is a criminally underrated player and his melody driven style of playing is the driving force behind the band's prominent melodic focus in their sound, and his solos are some of the best in Symphonic/Power Metal
      Kirk Hammitt (Metallica)
This guy has been kicking ass in Metallica for practically as long as the band has been active; His style of shredding makes him influential to this day, and his extended solos during Metallica shows make each show as badass as the next one.
      Synester Gates (Avenged Sevenfold)
This guy is a guitarist to be reckoned with on stage, and his soloing style of playing is practically iconic to the band's sound, which only elevates the actual solos when they come in on the songs.

Buckethead isn't an influential guitarist, but he certainly deserves to be on this list solely due to a) the ridiculous number of albums and EPs he has released, b) his insanely advanced technical abilities, and c) the number of genres he can play in so flawlessly, from, industrial to ambient to bluegrass etc. He also writes some of the most original and eclectic guitar parts known to humankind, insanely fast and dissonant but robotically precise, yet can also write the some of the most calm, beautiful and truly soulful music as well.
Also, let's not forget his chops of bass are also way above most professional bassists.
