Harmonic balancer removal on a LS based engine is a lot harder than I was expecting!

Today we're removing the harmonic balancer, or crankshaft pulley, from this 2005 CTS-V. Harmonic balancer failures is a well known fault of LS engines. Oddly enough, the LS engine doesn't have a keyway for the crank pulley. The harmonic balancer on this LS6, is starting to wobble and it's the perfect time to replace the worn balancer.

@@CarsNToys 3.5 which provides the benefits of less power, a weaker transmission AND 3.5-only parts that are way harder to find than 4.0 lol. Oh well, it was the most problematic car on my shopping list so I'm getting the pain over with right up front. Next buys are 1st gen Acura RL and Infiniti G35x. Still have a 96 Maxima which is I think how I stumbled upon your channel back in the day.
